My neighbor asked for his opinion on her situation and he said her guttering was too small for the volume of water. He sent a crew out four days later and completed the job for her. One of the crew members noticed something had been done wrong by another company when he got up on the roof. She is going to have Eldon and Sons correct that before it becomes a bigger issue. I also had two replacement windows go bad. I called Jerry at Eldon and Sons and he ordered the replacements which were installed the day they did my neighbor's guttering job. No charge. No hassle. They were glad to take care of the problem. If all businesses related to construction and otherwise did business the way Eldon and Sons does, there would be a lot more happy homeowners. We originally hired Bordner Home Improvement to fix a leak coming into our main floor ceiling…read morespecifically because of their stellar online reviews and thinking they were a quality local company (they were actually sold to a private equity company in 2024 and are no longer locally owned). Tyler came out and looked over our issue, he told us that after replacing the head flashing above the window behind the stucco there "would be no more leak, 100% or we'll come back out and fix it" and not to worry since it's backed by a 1-year guarantee just in case the leak didn't show up until further into the rainy season. Given their online reviews we completely trusted his word and were expecting the same great experience so many others have had. Unfortunately, our experience was not what we were told or expecting. Poor Workmanship & Unauthorized Charges: They ripped out the stucco and installed new flashing, but the workmanship was poor (see photos). When we immediately emailed them with photos and concerns, they dismissed us and ran an unauthorized charge on our card for the balance. It took persistent messaging before they admitted the work was subpar and agreed to fix it. The Leak Wasn't Fixed: Even after the cosmetic "fix" (which still left us to paint the new stucco ourselves), the window leaked the very next time it rained. Misdiagnosis & Upselling: After contacting them multiple times about the continued leaking, they agreed to send a couple guys out to do a "water test" with a garden hose. Less than 15 minutes after arriving, they had quickly determined the issue was actually at the bottom of the window--not the top area they had just charged us $2,395 to repair. Their new solution was to suggest we buy completely new windows. It seems incredibly shady that they didn't perform a simple hose test before ripping out stucco and charging $2,395 for a completely unnecessary repair. While they may have done great work for some others, I would look elsewhere unless you want to spend time and money only to end up worse off than before you hired them.

As soon as they were gone, our family room ceiling opened up and gallons of water poured in. The roofing company agreed to replace the flat roof but they did a sloppy job. I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.

After hiring them to do the repairs, they were great to work with. They did the work on time, their team was professional and friendly, they came back when I had a concern about the rafter repairs, and immediately addressed the problem. They didn't try to oversell replacing the whole roof like many roofing companies might do. Instead, they gave me good, honest advice and did the needed work beautifully at a reasonable price. We hired Karin Ross Designs to remodel our main floor, including a full kitchen, and work started…read morein February 2026. Dealing with this company was absolutely horrific. We own rental properties and have hired many contractors, and we have never been treated this way before. As of this writing, the project still isn't finished, and we are in a dispute over tens of thousands of dollars. We have the contract, texts, emails, photos and videos to back up what we describe here. We were told the project would take about two months. We made it clear multiple times that it could not go past May, and we were assured it would not. Instead, we lived without a working kitchen for seven months. Seven months of eating out and living in a construction zone. We often got no updates on what was happening or why no one was working. Weeks went by with no work at all. It was beyond frustrating. We chose this company for its premium, award-winning reputation: magazine features, TV appearances and glowing reviews everywhere. We paid premium prices, including nearly the whole construction contract in weekly installments within the first two months. Yet the countertops weren't finished until mid-August and the floors until September but we paid for everything in March. We normally don't prepay, but we made an exception. When work slowed and we asked to delay one payment, Karin replied that she would hold back more products until payments were back on schedule. It felt like a threat, so we paid that same day. Our contract specified a tiled range hood, naming the insert brand and the tile. A different, less expensive insert showed up, and we were told ours would not fit. Then the explanation kept changing. We were also asked to pay extra tariff and shipping charges on the tile, with no invoice presented despite repeated requests. It turned into months of frustrating, unnecessary back-and-forth. In the end the hood was dropped, and we had to find new tile and another contractor ourselves. We hired one company to handle the whole project, and instead parts of it were dropped and left for us to figure out. We wanted a company that knew what it was doing, so we would not have to worry about codes or doing things right. We got the complete opposite. For example, the city's final inspection failed because the kitchen outlets were not GFCI protected. It was corrected, but it should not have happened. The bar is still not finished. The bar cabinets were damaged when they were resized, and the company acknowledged the problems in writing. We were even blamed for not catching the problems during installation of the cabinets. The glass doors listed in the contract were not installed. There was no final walkthrough with us. Instead, we got an email saying the bar would not be finished, with an offer of only a partial refund and a list of conditions. After we asked for refunds for what we paid, we received a bill for new charges for thousands of dollars for work done months earlier. None of it was priced or approved in a change order, as our contract requires, so we dispute all of it. We did not feel real care about how our project was going, and we did not get an apology for the delays. Our questions to Karin were often treated as complaints, as if we were stirring up drama. Her texts were snappy, and she yelled at us on multiple occasions. Imagine paying this much for a remodel and being treated that way. We feel this company took advantage of our trust and that we were misled throughout this project. Our kitchen was supposed to be the heart of our home. Instead, it became a nightmare we are still living through. If you are considering Karin Ross Designs, read your contract very carefully. Ours was vague, and not asking for a line-by-line cost breakdown was a mistake. Most importantly, do not prepay for the whole remodel like we did. Research the company and its owners, including public court records. We would not wish this experience on anyone.
