It happens when you take a talented proprietor and mix it with great prices and good customer service. As others say don't let the basic exterior fool you (and don't step in the hole in the floor)! Wifey and I needed a watch band replaced and a few batteries. Howard replaced while we waited and we had a great conversation (with photos) about his history, his dog, his grandkids, and his farm. The work was great - watch battery price was $6 or 3 for $15. That is a darn good price! We left with a smile on our faces from the friendly chat and all watches ticking away. I have tried to find someone to repair this clock for several years and realized that "A place in Time" repairs clocks I have known the owners for over 10 years now and have found that they are the greatest folks to deal with and trust them fully. They now have the clock, and I will write an update after the job is complete.
