She was very kind, helpful, providing us with time to think about the selection, showing the differences between lab grown and natural diamonds, explaining the diamond grades, etc. No question left unanswered, and I had many as someone who knew nothing about jewelry. What I also appreciated was her taking the time to take each ring out of the display so we could get a good look. We looked at many! In the end we found a beautiful ring and she even knocked a few bucks off the price tag. Really nice and memorable experience overall, would highly recommend. Also, my fiancé said yes and loves the ring... what more can you ask for.

---The Problem---- I…read morehad bought this lovely Broyhill sectional at a furniture dealer in April. Well late last month, I noticed some of the seams starting to split. Being that it was a floor model, there was nothing Broyhill would do. Stressed out, I took to the internet searching for upholstery repair shops. Thing is I had to have someone make a house call since our sectional is really wide and we live on the third floor with narrow stairwells. Needless, to say no one in Hopkinsville would make a house call. ---Cue Macken's Upholstery---- I called Macken's hoping they would save my sectional. The lovely shop owner took about a hour out of his day to drive to Hopkinsville to service my sectional! Mind you he doesn't do house calls, the last one he did was 6 months ago. Watching him sew was so interesting, the man has been doing it for 50 years. You can't get any more skilled than that. I was so pleased with him coming out, I would have paid anything (ok, not anymore than the price of the sectional) for him to sew up those busted seams. It surprisingly wasn't much and the work was top notch! You can't even tell that it's been repaired. ---What I've learned------ I will never buy anything Broyhill again. I will also call Macken's when I need upholstery work done and recommend him to everyone!

WARNING Do NOT bring your cherished silver jewelry here for repair - risk destruction…read more Brought my 1908 Lady Liberty Barber Sterling Silver Dime Coin ring in to simply repair its broken band. My father acquired the Art Nouveau piece for my 16th birthday; its face was artistically popped out to a full forward cameo in a skilled, hand-forged repousse from the rear; it was rare. Since the band opened up requiring repair it was safely stored in its own jewelry box for at least a quarter century. As prior customer for change of insurance appraisals, I noticed displayed coins and jewelry repair so I thought this to be the perfect place to do the job. My father had since passed, I miss him very much, and his gifted ring reminds me of him. Months later I was contacted for pickup and was shocked - Lady Liberty's beautiful face was flattened into a machined square. As my eyes began to tear in disappointment the nice lady who originally took the ring in requested more time to recreate her face. The man who did the work came out and told me he spray painted it a matt finish. Why spray paint sterling silver or an antique coin? The lady then insinuated it wasn't a real coin when it clearly was one of artfully repousse - raised in relief from inside the back by hammers and punches; with detail added to the front by engraving. an ancient technique decorating metal popular during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Upon return for pick up yesterday found the coin's reeded edge lines smoothed off, wheat detail on her hair and crown gone, letters warped, deep gouges added, and antique coin shading again spray painted over a tin color - a complete and utter abomination. They turned 100+ year antique ring from pristine mint condition stored properly into a destroyed mess when hired to only repair the band. I cannot wear what appears poorly manufactured as sold out of quarter gum-ball machines - just awful. I was charged for what amounted to utter incompetence by a business that is supposed to specialize in doing what they were paid to do. How can this be resolved with the blond employee so awfully rude I am reluctant to enter again? Please take responsibility for your damage done by contacting me and replacing the destroyed ring so I don't have to take this to the Better Business Bureau and leave same reviews everywhere for others aware to avoid experiencing same.

I saw the Open sign tonight after picking up my sweets from a nearby French bakery. So glad I stopped by. One of the owners, Brett, gave me a tour. Each room has a theme. So many vintage furniture pieces with intricate woodwork. Great condition for them, too, which is really impressive. I like that everything is neat and orderly. It does not look like someone's attic junk thrown in a booth like some antique shops I have been to around TN. They acquire "new" items weekly, so I am definitely coming back here. Plus, there are a few things I have in mind to give as gifts. Perfect gifts at reasonable prices. For now, I have my own want list on hold. Check out my photos of a few of them! So sweet of the owner's daughter to keep an eye on my little one while I looked around, but we had to go. Dinner time. They will be open more days after January, but Thursday to Sunday for now.
