$450. house call ($225. each way) - for an $80. leather hammer strap replacement and rio eplace a missing piece from a pendulum - although I had been told the repair would cost about $400 - 500 to repair the lock, I wasn't told of the house call fee until it came time to pay - Scott ruined a working clock that had been in the family for at least 75 years without telling me - When it was returned, I was told it was "off" - I'm thinking as an old clock it may have chimed at 12:01 so it didn't create a red flag for me . But after Scott left, it never chimed - in retrospect, I think I was told the clock was "off" because he knew he had ruined it and was preemptively finding a way out of being responsible - confirmed from talking with other clock repairers. Getting someone to repair an already "repaired" clock was near impossible and truth is it is still not working properly which is why I am writing this review - I don't know where these good reviews are coming from but I wouldn't trust Scott to bring in my mail much less fix a clock. read more

Amazing place. We took him a non-functioning cheap but very pretty clock. He found the appropriate mechanism and installed it using the original hands. The shop is full of different clocks of various styles from mantle clocks to wall clocks to grandfather clocks. He seems to be very experienced. read more

I inherited a grandfather clock from my parents and moved it from Atlanta to Nashville. Not surprisingly, it didn't work when I put it back together. I called Clockwise Clock Repair, and scheduled an in-home service call. Scott arrived on time, which was a good sign. He is very knowledgeable, shared interesting observations about the clock and its history, and took great care. I am an engineer and so watched him work and asked questions. He seemed to enjoy teaching me about the clock's mechanism - such as how to wind it, how to silence the chimes if needed, and how to tweak it to run a little faster or slower if needed. He is a true artisan. The cost was reasonable considering he came to my home, got the clock running, and taught me how to operate it. I will definitely call him next time, and highly recommend his service. read more
