TV and internet cuts out three or four times a day. Way overpriced and awful customer service.

Trying to reach customer service is not the best, but at least it doesn't take more than one or two person to help ya.

Stopped at the Spectrum store in Bowling Green to return a piece of equipment last week. Though the…read morehours were listed online when we arrived there was a note on the door saying not open til later due to staff shortages. We decided to wait for a bit since it was out of town for us. After a bit I was able to go in and sign in for assistance. The young lady that helped me out was very kind and courteous and took care of the return quite nicely. We have been Spectrum customers for years and have always found them to fair and helpful.

If you think that spectrum is your only option, look on the FCC broadband map to find other…read moreproviders in your area. Specifically in Bowling Green, OH. I would look into buckeye broadband instead. If they have fiber internet available for your address on the map, you CAN get it. I got their symmetrical 1gig unlimited plan on a discount, but the regular price for that plan is $105/month, which is almost the same price as spectrum for a better plan. The reviews for them are mostly for their older services. Fiber internet doesn't have the kind of problems they had, and I have yet to have a single blackout of service or slowing speeds. With spectrum, I had service outages at least monthly. If I'm paying $100 a month for a service, I expect that service 100% of the time. My speeds were also sometimes comparatively very slow. On my 1gig plan, I had times where it was down to 600mb/s That's still plenty fast for what I do, but if I wanted that speed, I would pay less for it. Spectrum's pricing is also very odd. $100/month for 1gig cable internet is at best an OK price. When compared to fiber, it's absolute garbage, but for cable it's fine. Where they make no sense is their TV packages. When I moved, the employee on the line told me that their TV package would be free for the first month, and then $10/month after that. It was $100/month additionally added to my bill on the first month. If I wanted to spend $100/month on TV, I could just get every major streaming service. Even then, I'd still have to take ~$20 and burn it just to meet that price. When I finally got on the phone to get them to remove the service, My internet price jumped up $40/month from where it was before I moved. When I went to cancel my services, the employee blatantly lied to me about the speeds provided by a competitor in my area, and took 30 minutes trying to get me to keep the service. You would think that after I told them multiple times that I wasn't interested in keeping the service and that I already had the other internet service installed, they might realize that they weren't getting anywhere, but I guess they don't teach them to use common sense. The one saving grace is that their in-store employees at Bowling Green were nice the few times I went in. I would recommend you go into the store instead of getting on a call. The people spectrum hires to answer the phone aren't from the area, and half the time you can't understand what they're saying. I would never recommend Spectrum services to anyone, and I would highly recommend that you look into competitors. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I was completely unfamiliar with the area and I was very surprised to find out my cable company/internet service provider Comcast/Xfinity did not service the area. I have had many problems over the years with Comcast, including one on my way out of Miami which I will detail in a later review, but I did like the product they provided. I did not know what companies serviced the area so I called AT&T and found out that although they did not have their service their either, Directv, one of their subsidiaries did. I wasn't thrilled about going to satellite but I said well when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I signed up with a package with them. I also wanted internet, phone and security and they said I needed to work with a different company they are affiliated with in the area: Centurylink. I got a package and I was told they would be at my home on a certain day after my move. Thus began a comedy of errors that made me terminate my contract with both companies. During this time both: 1) put down the wrong dates to start service. 2) create a work order to repair my existing service, when it wasn't even installed in the first place. I was actually told by the repairman who was mistakenly sent to my house that he doesn't know how this could have been screwed up this bad! 3) getting my order wrong I had to make so many phone calls, including in the middle of a work conference I was attending! Every time my mother called me to say hey we have another problem with the cable/internet companies I wanted to jot my head against the wall in frustration. I was losing my patience and then one call again during the conference, my mother said that the installer for the internet service said that we would have ridiculously slow speed because they relied on DSL for service in my area and we were really far away from the downtown area where if we watched YouTube on one computer no other computer could use the internet! Wait!? What!? I was already unhappy with switching to satellite for tv but DSL? What am I back in the 90s? I can't use this, I work from home occasionally and so does my brother... this can't work! I wasn't told anything about this. I stopped the installation and canceled. Thankfully since service wasn't set up I didn't break the contract, it just never happened. Yeah no thanks!

TWC is the absolute WORST company EVER to deal with. The right hand does not know what the left…read morehand is doing. Customer Service Reps in the phone banks are in foreign countries who have thick accents that are hard to understand. They tell you one thing, and sometimes even give you a temporary fix. To get any help at all from customer service, expect to restate your problem and identification information no less than 3 times, to 3 different people who all put you on hold. It can take 2 to 4 hours a problem to get your issue resolved temporarily. Then you have to call back for the same problem as soon as the next day. I have called to cancel service twice. The representative from the Retention Dept promised that a supervisor would come out to resolve my issue, gave a date and time, and I waited. Then a reg tech, not a supervisor showed up with no workorder of my specific needs and problems. This idiot gave me a new and improved large key remote control, and left after telling me the problem was my TV. So I bought a new TV. Continued to have the same problems (streaming netflix). I called to cancel service again several days later and as before, promised that a supervisor would come out with a workorder of my specific issues. Again, this did not happen. A younger idiot, not a supervisor, did not resolve my issues. Instead, he did what he wanted to do, and left me having the same problems streaming netflix. This has happened to me twice in the last 8 days over Christmas 2014 alone. And I should mention, that due to my streaming problems I purchased Turbo Internet for a $10. rate increase a month to resolve the streaming problems. I am still having the same problems, but paying $10. more a month for them. Now they want to charge me a $30. installation fee for disconnecting and reconnecting my same modem. Hell will freeze before I pay this. The retention dept should not make promises to customers that the home technicians will not or cannot keep. Unfortunately, TWC is the only provider my Senior Housing Apt. complex can use. As as bad as TWC is, they are the only game in town, and they know it. I moved to OH from CA. I have been a Comcast Cable/Time Warner Cable customer for over 40 years. The prices for services go up and up while the quality of services falls down and down. TV and communication with my family and friends are my only source of entertainment. It's sad, but I am stuck with this awful arrangement.

Random disconnections because techs cant read addresses, will cost you way more money than a monthly payment for appointments because you lost wages waiting for them, customer service is a joke, they have no options for disabled (blind deaf mute) in service menu, constantly raise prices including for upgrades they never actually give you. My latest disconnected service, they were still in area when I contacted them, they literally were on the pole disconnecting my service for no reason but I had to wait 2 days to turn it back on. I paid monthly for 30 years all the way back to TW roadrunner first launched. Yet twice I was disconnected without any reason, just because, and spent im rounding down but over 24 or more hours each time on phone getting excuses each time. No reimbursement nothing, I had to purchase my own modem when they refuse to honor their own agreement of replacement at regular intervals. This company needs a civil action m lawsuit for a few billion dollars for the horrible lies and misleading advertising and down time directly caused by their own incompetence.
