To start, this service is much more reliable than other local broadband providers…read more BUT they are a fiber optic broadband provider. So you shouldn't see the huge drop off in service caused by prime time usage. But you should definitely not see a 70% drop off (from 100mb service to 30mb) outside of primetime. We have been a customer for almost a decade. And in the last 5 months we cannot even stream in HD from most services because the connection speed is too slow. We have called and reported it and they just tell us they will reset it and it should be better. But it never is. This is getting ridiculous. And Wabash support doesn't seem to care enough to get it fixed.

I signed up for Spectrum Cable, Internet and phone after a disappointing experience with…read moreDirectv/Century Link. There are not a lot of options in my area for TV/Internet but let's be honest that's how it is across the country. There is no competition in the marketplace and that's how cable companies like it. Bad service all around. The tv service isn't bad. I actually like that Spectrum has a 24 hour local/national news service they run themselves called Spectrum News 1. It's an interesting concept and one well. It's high speed Internet is high speed. My brother and I have been working from home due to the corona virus situation and we both are using the Internet for work purposes at the same time and my mother can use the Internet on her iPad and we do not have any issues with slow down or losing connection. The hardware for the cable is a bit old fashioned. Unlike Comcast my old provider back on Florida it has not voice remote, and it's on demand service requires u to search by slowly typing in the name of the show. Yeah they need to update that badly. The installation was a disaster. The guy seemed like he didn't want to do the job. Almost canceled on me when he was at the door. Unlike Comcast the guy didn't even staple the cable hook up running in my wall to the wall to make it look decent. I didn't have time to review his work because of my cat. I have a cat named lynx which I love. She was disoriented because of my recent move and you have to be careful because your animals can get lost if they just move to an area. I told the installer not to enter a room without telling me and if he needs to tell me. I also told him not to leave the entrance to my house open. What did he do? Yup the opposite! He even told me he saw the cat leave my room from what happened... did nothing. What followed was hours of looking for my cat in the neighborhood! I was worried and sad. I thankfully found her but I was pissed off this happened. Cable companies are more or less the same no matter the company or where you are it seems.

I was completely unfamiliar with the area and I was very surprised to find out my cable company/internet service provider Comcast/Xfinity did not service the area. I have had many problems over the years with Comcast, including one on my way out of Miami which I will detail in a later review, but I did like the product they provided. I did not know what companies serviced the area so I called AT&T and found out that although they did not have their service their either, Directv, one of their subsidiaries did. I wasn't thrilled about going to satellite but I said well when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I signed up with a package with them. I also wanted internet, phone and security and they said I needed to work with a different company they are affiliated with in the area: Centurylink. I got a package and I was told they would be at my home on a certain day after my move. Thus began a comedy of errors that made me terminate my contract with both companies. During this time both: 1) put down the wrong dates to start service. 2) create a work order to repair my existing service, when it wasn't even installed in the first place. I was actually told by the repairman who was mistakenly sent to my house that he doesn't know how this could have been screwed up this bad! 3) getting my order wrong I had to make so many phone calls, including in the middle of a work conference I was attending! Every time my mother called me to say hey we have another problem with the cable/internet companies I wanted to jot my head against the wall in frustration. I was losing my patience and then one call again during the conference, my mother said that the installer for the internet service said that we would have ridiculously slow speed because they relied on DSL for service in my area and we were really far away from the downtown area where if we watched YouTube on one computer no other computer could use the internet! Wait!? What!? I was already unhappy with switching to satellite for tv but DSL? What am I back in the 90s? I can't use this, I work from home occasionally and so does my brother... this can't work!
