After decades with Spectrum and extortionary costs, along with dismal in town (Appleton) speeds (contrary to what they advertise), we finally switched to TDS. Our monthly cost have gone from $250/ month to $50 a month which is guaranteed for 2 years. We still get all the streaming services as before (using Roku stick for both services.) Best of all our internet speed has gone from 60-75 Mbs to 500 Mbs upload as tested with a speed tester. What's really unbelievable is that we waited so long to do this. And having to going in to the Spectrum store in Appleton (which is mandatory to discontinue the service) we did not complain and were friendly, being happy to be rid of this costly and terrible internet speed service. The agent on the other hand looked like he was a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any second. Even though it was a terrible visit experience, we were just as happy coming out of the store as going in, being relieved at having made this switch. read more

Waiting over an hour to still be #4 in line. Service for internet disconnects multiple times per day and customer service is no help. Highest price for internet in the valley also. Don't use them!!! horrible service and incompetent staff. read more

I had the same experience that most people have trying to return an exchange cable box. Why should I wait hours to do a return that I saved Spectrum from having to send a technician out to replace their defective equipment. I left my used box with an employee at the store and he told me to take it back that he wouldn't give me credit! I walked out without it!! I did receive credit! I won't ever go into another Spectrum store. They can come to my house and replace the equipment. read more

Absolute total lack of regard or appreciation for their customers. I cannot strongly enough encourage other provider options. We now have more channels and better internet for over $100.00 /mo less. It's no wonder that for the first quarter of 2026 subscriber cancellations doubled from 60,000 in the same quarter of 2025 to 120,000 this year!! Stock of parent company Charter Communications took a 25% devaluation at the end of this past April!! We were loyal for decades but kept losing channels to higher cost upgrade packages and got tired of always being "put on the elevator" with ridiculous price hikes. They "stick it" to loyal customers to offset deals for new subscribers and to counter losses from customers who have walked away in frustration and disgust. When we walked in to cancel our account, the only question asked was whether we had already gone with another provider. There was only total indifference and no concern to inquire about what brought us to this point. Pretty sorry customer care!! read more

as a student who basically has to live off internet in order to communicate with my teachers and peers, spectrum has never failed to let me down with their mixture of slow and not up-to-date internet. i'm sure if your reading this review you're already heard some iffy things about spectrum and let me be the one to tell you, don't waste your time. If there was a way to express my anger through the screen right now, i would. the internet provides the bare minimum and is equivalent to trying to use internet on an airplane. you would have better luck literally not buying an internet package from them at all. In fact, i can speak on behalf of my family and friends who have nothing good to say about spectrum. as a longtime customer, we keep getting more and more disappointed. i hope the company feels great about their shitty slow network. read more

Canceling my wifi was a 1 hour phone call for no reason, & returning equipment I waited over an hour with 2 people in front of me at the Appleton location when I arrived. Do NOT recommend. If you're returning equipment just figure out how to mail it. We switched to AT&T fiber for better pricing (consistent, at least) & customer service. Workers seem fine it's not them entirely it's the company. Don't do it, go with someone else. Not to mention their service is inconsistent and about 1/2 of the speed you pay for. Don't do it. read more

Leaving reviews everywhere I can. If you have to just return equipment go to UPS store!!! Spectrum emails tell you it is an easy drop off in store. FALSE!! Spectrum shouldn't even list store drop off as an option and just tell people to go to UPS. Horrible horrible experience in the Spectrum store. Stood around for 80 minutes to MAKE A DROP OFF!!!! No one in their right mind would think they needed to take more than five minutes to make a drop off. It could really be a self service station in the store!!! People know how to use self checkouts these days. The process is the most idiotic system ever, to require people to wait that long to try and work with a live person. If it is a corporate system shame on Spectrum, but if it is the store doing it, they need to be investigated by Spectrum Corporate. I had to get back to work, so I spoke to an employee inbetween customers to try and leave my equipment there and they sent me away and wouldn't take it. Manager came over to try and intervene and also just told me to go to UPS. Something should have informed me of that sooner. The confirmation text that I was in line could have said any of this. Even though I already spent significant time and effort to get there and I just needed to leave it behind with my name, I couldn't do that. Literally UPS scanned a barcode and printed a thing to hand me in 30 seconds!! I was already in the Spectrum store, someone could have done that without incident or impact to other customers! Even the DMV has different lanes setup to streamline different processes and get easy things through faster. The check in system could have mentioned long wait time and to go to UPS at that point instead of me trying to wait. I never would have dreamed it would have been so complicated. Again, IT'S JUST a DROP OFF!!!! Nothing endeavored to inform the customer about the situation or how to make it a better experience for us. WORST PROCESS AND CUSTOMER FOCUS I HAVE SEEN IN AGES!!!! read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do business with Spectrum!!!! The absolute worst service on the planet. We were customers for 3 (sad) years and finally recently switched to DISH. OMG...totally happy we switched!!! Spectrum is TRIPLE the price , which is insane. It pained me every month to pay that ridiculous bill. Shame on you,Spectrum...,absolutely pathetic read more

I cancelled my Spectrum service earlier this week and was told to "drop off" my equipment at any Spectrum store. I went to the store and there are 10 or so people waiting. I thought, since I was just dropping off something I take it to the counter. however I was rudely told by an employee to sign in and wait for your turn. When I told him I cancelled Spectrum and am just dropping this off I was told "everyone else is waiting to cancel too, get in line" I might be wrong but I feel like this is an unacceptable to treat customers. read more

I understand why many businesses are having a tough time staffing right now..... but in this case there are 4 people working, one greeting at the door and taking your name. Another actually working with a marathon "pissed" customer and two others doing god knows what! Maybe lunch break? Lots of fast walking back and forth to their kiosk and then back to a back room.... but certainly not taking care of any of the customers piling up in the show room. I came in to exchange some out dated equipment that was not working well. For what it costs for their service, outdated equipment updates or exchanges should happen without waiting for failure. Customer service (phone) said they could ship my new equipment, but it would take a few days... or I could come into the store and make the exchange in person.... I'm starting to think the shipping would have been quicker! Wish there was another option (besides Dish) for my cable, phone and internet. read more

Worst service ever. Unfortunately only one available one available in my area, with exception of very pricey satellite. Spectrum internet and TV goes out every day!!! Not kidding every evening out for at least 20 min. Tonight it's been 5 hours. I always report outage mostly because I have the time you know because I have no internet or TV. N hey already worked all day, and hey if I gonna not have service that iam paying for I need to make their day as well. However been living here a year and no improvement. I guess they have my money therefore they don't care. Also they don't seem to know meaning of truth I advertising. Avoid at all cost read more

Average service, average value for the money. That's what three stars gets, right? I will say that when I have had technical issues or questions about the bills, the people that I have talked to who are always overseas have tried very hard to be helpful and are always very nice. However, it is very hard to understand them sometimes which Adds to my frustration. read more

Don't waste your money here when I first started my plan it was 60$ a month just recently they changed my bill to 109 didn't give me any notice and when I called to cancel my plan they said there still charging me for the whole cycle and it's only been 1 day on this billing period read more

Garbage store for a dumpster fire of a company. Do yourself a favor and go with another ISP. Some of the worst customer service in the industry, if not, the worst. Stay away! Charter Spectrum has every STD you could imagine. read more

Sleazy business practices every month. This summer the wifi service bill increased 20%--how much you want to wager the actual workers never saw a penny. On top of that, the service has been glitchy. Then to really ice the consumer, my credit card gets compromised due to their lack of protection and I get immediately charged an additional $8.95 when my new credit card does not arrive in time to pay the bill. Yet, when I am looking for service, I am the one who needs to be patient and understanding. THIS is EXACTLY what happens when companies get too big for their own good. I will write a separate review for their SLEAZY mobile phone practices. read more

Waiting in line like the DMV for everything! Actually the dmv is faster now. They should be fully staffed and have a way better way of going about business! Have a sign up specifically for why the person is there! This is stupid. read more

It's not their fault they suck... it's my fault for allowing myself to continue with the service. At the end of the day the Amish have better internet connection, and customer support than this bush league company. read more

I want to say thank you to Natasha for setting us up with WiFi and making our experience super easy! She explained everything and was completely transparent about the pricing and how it will change over time. She answered all of our questions honestly and best of all, she didn't try to upsell us on anything we hadn't expressed interest in! We were previously AT&T customers and we were very happy to make the switch to Spectrum when we realized there were no installation fees. read more

We came in and wil helped my boyfriend add a line and upgrade it to thw samsung note 10! Helped explain exactly what I needed to say to the people over the phone in customer service to fix my moble account because of when it was set up initially it was seperated and not linked. He helped out a ton and made the experience a breeze. read more

My wife and I decided to switch to Spectrum from AT&T Spectrum had a special where they would pay your cancellation from AT&T well it's been 3 months now we still haven't received our payment even though we had to pay AT&T and even though we have all the pay channals the on-demand has not worked since the day we started read more

Very expensive and over priced. Also extremely bad customer service. Would highly recommend you not choose to get service thru spectrum- get uverse or any other company but not Spectrum read more

Bo Dietz helped me with all my internet needs and was awesome! Give him a raise! Great service and not a lon wait... ty for making this easy! read more

Terrible customer service. Not only does the connection suck most of the time, but the customer service employees are rude!

Rude employees that have no idea what they are doing. Had to set up my internet 3 times at the same address before it was actually working (I literally had to set up 3 different plans, 3 different times), spent 6 hours in one day and 4 hours on the next day on the phone getting my internet set up after I moved to Wisconsin. I would set up my internet and be told by a spectrum employee I was good to go, call back to activate my router just to be told I didn't have a plan. Even after picking up my router and modem, I still "didn't have a plan." Idiots. Because of that experience I firmly believe the management pulls a price out of their butt every hour and say go with that, because I got a completely different quote every time I set up my internet and requested the same exact thing. When asked if I wanted TV too for "not much more, like 20 bucks" the quote came back to $140 for the plan, a $90+ increase not "like 20 bucks." Idiots. Equipment is junk, service is garbage. Constantly getting disconnected and reconnected, it's so bad I can't even stream Netflix some nights. So much for 400 mb internet. I get 40mb/s download speeds on my Xbox on a good day, usually I get 20-30 mb/s which is just sad, and this all with wired Ethernet connections mind you. You people make Comcast look like a god, and that is really, really sad. I've had bad service with 1/4th the rating and just as good of download speeds of not better, and y'all make me wish I had that. Spectrum is just crooked as can be. read more

Charter Spectrum merged with Time-Warner Cable and immediately jacked my rate an additional 25% on the very first bill.
