Right away being greeted by Southeast Asian women (as a Southeast Asian woman) I immediately felt comfortable. When they are ready to take you back, you leave the lobby to the main area where all the rooms are, separated by curtains (Reminds me of Thai massages in Thailand). The ambience was perfect for my husband and I: clean, quiet, and with ambient music playing. (I saw other reviews about hearing the bar next door, but I couldn't even hear the noise outside though it could be because we were furthest from the front door.) It's not your typical LA fancy spa atmosphere but that's not important to us, a good massage is. And the massages were EXCELLENT. My husband in particular is very very muscular and very tense and at other places he would complain about the pressure not being strong enough. With Phai, however he said it was the best massage he has ever gotten. He made sure to take her name because he intends to come back regularly! She really targeted his requested areas and he felt very loose and relaxed afterwards. I had Noi who was also amazing and applied the perfect, firm pressure as requested. We both did the combination massage. I didn't catch the woman's name at the front desk but she was so kind and helpful before and after. We will definitely be back!

The phrase "this massage place is hit or miss" doesn't fully capture the insane, uncomfortable,…read moreanxiety inducing experience of enduring a "miss." The massage started off normal enough. The masseuse hit all the normal spots. But things started to slide off the rails when I began to realize no knots were being lingered over, no tight areas explored. It was like I was being massaged by a mime who didn't actually know what they were doing, but were simply trying to convincingly put their hands in normal enough places. And if that's all the massage ended up being that would've been fine. But then things got really weird. For starters, she rested the cold plastic bottle of oil against my bare skin. Like, what the hell? Then, she grated her fingers against my scalp, rubbing my hair in a way that made me feel like I was being punished by a catholic school nun. Then! She stuck her fingers in my ears! In! It was here, during round two of scraping my scalp in funny patterns, that I finally had to tell her to stop. Maybe not the worst massage I've ever gotten, but certainly one I will be forced to remember for a long time.

She asks questions, she listens, and then she addresses the issues, in a peaceful, intelligent, and immaculate manner. It's more often than not the best thing I do for myself all day, all week, all month.

I have been going to Gratitude Healing for over 6 years now, at least! I used to think getting massages was something I shouldn't spend money on b/c of the cost, but the more active I am, the more I realize how I truly need it for my body to keep going and remain as active as I want it to be. For me, it is a worthy investment. Especially as a mid-40-year-old man, the older I get, it's so much easier for me to prioritize my health and body, as opposed to a night or two out of drinking in which you can easily spend the same amount of money but feel WAY worse. One of the things I love about Willia's care is her truly unique intuitive ability. When she gets down to working on my body, her hands are remarkable at pinpointing all my problem areas; and I'm not just talking about knots, anyone can do that. She is fantastic at identifying areas that are extremely tight, overworked, and holding extra tension, pain, and trauma. She knows how to get in there and offer relaxation, release, and rejuvenation. As someone who has been going to Gratitude Healing for some time now, I would highly recommend this place to newbies. Book a 90-minute session, it's the best way to get the full experience! Lastly, as someone who has an inconsistent work schedule, booking with Willia has also been super easy and flexible. Often I can get in to see her within a day or two!

I initially went to her for a myofascial message, but soon after she suggested I would benefit more from craniosacral therapy. I wish I could describe how such a light touch therapy works so well, but I cannot. All I can say is that, in Mel's hands, craniosacral therapy has given me pain reduction, nervous system calming, and overall physical and mental relief, in a way no other physical or mental therapy has ever given me. And, I have done years of physical therapy, acupuncture, meditation, mental therapy, regular message, etc. She's so intuitive that sometimes she narrows into working on problem areas I didn't even know were spasmed or clogged until she releases them. I leave feeling like I've been in a meditative state, but better. The calmness and physical relaxation last longer with each session. What started as a few hours of relief, has extended to days, and sometimes weeks. She helped me learn how to unconsciously relax my own system, and reduce the muscle spasms, brain fog, anxiety and other issues that come with it. With her help, I'm managing several physical chronic conditions that literally had disabled me for over a decade before I found her. She's helped me both through crises, and simply to maintain equilibrium in my system. In addition, she's such a kind and smart person. I cannot recommend Mel's services highly enough.
