I don't know why they closed. I guess it was because of Covid. This was my most favorite place. Eve the owner was wonderful and the staff was great the food was delicious and the view spectacular. A country spa get away and one could spend the night. I still have a gift certificate and I am very sad I can't use it. I wish they would reopen. I loved the Vichy massage it was amazing. This isn't your big city spa! This is country spa, feel like you're at grandma's house kind of a spa. I went for a bridal party spa day and we were there from open to close. At first I was wondering what in the heck am I going to do there all day long? Well, I started off with a TIME OUT drink in my hand, robe and slippers, followed by a dip in the spa. Then I went in for my spa treatment, then an amazing homemade lunch. I took a shower and got ready for evening festivities there too. They have EVERYTHING. If I wasnt so busy with the bridal party I probably would have curled up on one of the couches by the fireplace and taken a nap. I can't wait to go back! read more

So I've been going to the spa for quite a few years I have tried to get a hold of it during Covid after Covid and now where everybody is back open this location has no website it has no phone number and yes the location is an older facility it is outdated but I enjoy just to have the day away for me time and now that you can't even contact them and use a gift certificate that I have is very unfortunate and it would've been nice for them to post something or to get back to their client base that had opening gift certificates to let them know they would give back the refund or use the services before they closed because it does not show that this location is even open anymore very unprofessional I'll be going somewhere else and referring all of my sisters and friends elsewhere read more

This was an amazing location for those of you looking to get away from the city. We went in the fall which was splashed with different colors of trees that glistened in the sun. It is a very large home that have been converted into comfortable and cozy spa. Jane, Valerie and Edie are great!! Always checking in on you. Providing you with the most relaxed atmosphere to get a massage, facial, paraffin dip, Vichy shower. You start off with Homemade candies and a drink, then you get into your robe and slippers to take a trip out to the hot tub to relax before your spot experience begins. Depending on your package you are served breakfast and lunch by Edie along with great conversation, laughter and relaxation. Definitely a must try!! read more

If It had air conditioning in the main house. 2. if the facility was completely remodeled on the inside(The place looks like a setting for a 70's porn movie downstairs and 80's flowery old lady rooms upstairs) 3. if the pedicures were actual pedicures. This is a private day spa located in Eldorado wine country, just outside of Placerville. They also have some overnight accommodations. At least for Wednesday & Thursday you need to have a party of 6 or more for them to open, but I think they are always open Friday-Sunday. The house is an upscale house built in the late 60's or early 70's (I would guess), and has not been altered much; which is kinda of cool. They have all the regular spa treatments, and also a hot tub out on a deck, where we started off, and they would come get us, as they were ready for us. We were greeted with mimosas and fudge :) I guess that's what your able to do with a private spa? Our group wandered the house in-between treatments, which allowed us to visit with each other, unlike other spas, where you never see each other again, until the end. Everyone is in their spa robes and slippers, reading magazines, sitting in front of the fire, getting a pedicure, etc We had lunch included with our treatments, and it was very tasty, well presented, and was healthy; which is what I would expect of a spa lunch. It also allowed for everyone to get together all at once about half way through our day. This is a great girls day out idea. read more

Super cute Bed and Breakfast type Spa! We had the 1 hr massages and they were wonderful. They made us a time out champagne drink before the service. Very cute older staff, and both of our massage technicians did a fantastic massage at perfect pressure. Definitely would come back with a large group of girls for an upcoming event. This would make a great private little party and they are so kind and accommodating. They also have a large brew house, Jack Russell right next door and it was open for brew and wine tasting. read more

My sister and I enjoyed a wonderful day of pampering in a lovely setting. Edie is an attentive hostess, balancing friendly conversation and hospitality with quietness. Upon arriving, we sat in the hot tub with a champagne drink enjoying the beautiful scenery. We each had a 1 hr. massage and 30 min. facial which were very good and relaxing. Between services and afterwards, we lounged on the deck in the sunshine and quietly visited. Lunch was a tasty homemade variety of salads, pasta and vegetables. Delicious! My Mother in-law surprised me with a Gift Certificate-To Time Out Day Spa. after hearing many good things about Time Out So excited to check out. I was a little concerned with Yelp reviews but thought Id' give them a try. I called to reserve my day at the spa in August 2016 and spoke with Eddie. Time out Spa is located in Beautiful Camino, near Apple Hill, nestled back off the beaten path. Time out is operated out of a large house which is surrounded with lots of trees, offers wonderful views of nearby Fruit orchards, vineyards and you can see the beautiful Sierra Mountains in the distance. Time out has a comfortable and welcoming even if it is a little out dated. Upon entering the Spa, I was greeted by a pleasant scent of cupcakes baking. I approached the entry table with a welcome message, a sign in sheet and a bowl of homemade fudge. Eddie came from the kitchen and welcomed me. She explained the services I will be having. She handed me a robe, pair of rubber slide on slippers and showed me to my room. The Pink Room was mine for the day- the room was decorated with cute little trinkets; pink curtains, a chair with vanity, floor fan and a queen size bed. All rooms had a theme and are located upstairs. Eddie, advised me to change into my bathing suit and come down and start with a soak in the Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi is located in the back of the house on a large deck with a view for miles. I enjoyed a Time Out "Special Cocktail" while I relaxed. It was defiantly a great way to start off my day. Shortly after, I was greeted by my masseuse who escorted me to the Massage rooms. Although I wasn't able to get comfortable, I tried to enjoy the massage. A lot to be desired, the massage was okay. Next was time for my facial. The Facial was amazing! I really wish I could remember her name but she gave an Awesome Facial! Between each service, I enjoyed the views out on the deck, soaking up the sun, reading magazines and meeting other guests as they come through. The lunch provided was delicious- I was severed a wonderful chicken salad sandwich, fresh seasonal fruit salad, pickled beets and Brussels sprouts from a local farm, iced tea and a fresh baked cupcake. After lunch, I received my last service of the day- an express pedicure. I lounged for the rest of the day with a very familiar feeling of being at grandma's house. With the exception of the Massage (I will try a different person)I will return to Time Out, their service was exceptional and they made me feel right at home. read more

I was one of the 5 close friends with Lani. It was the perfect day. Six hard working women that don't get to relax often and our experience couldn't have been any better. The entire Time Out team spoiled us, constantly checking on each of us. I had a massage and facial and enjoyed every minute of them both. We started the day in jacuzzi with beautiful scenery all around us and finished our day with a delicious homemade lunch that we didn't expect. Just because the employees are extremely nice, doesn't mean you will receive quality service. Here's my story.... Had a spa day with my sisters a few weeks ago....first thing is it was mid July...pretty warm up there..no air conditioning in the main house....really uncomfortable, especially in the heavy terry cloth robes they give you. Very very out-dated facility. With the money they charge you, the whole place needs an overhaul. The pedicure may have been everyone's least favorite service. Never sloughed your feet, did not put a base-coat on and massage was about 2 minutes. The whole pedicure lasted 16 minutes. So, even though they were are very nice, we will be looking elsewhere for our next spa day! read more

I really really wanted to love this place. I first visited this place in 1996. At the time it was VERY 60-70's inside. The carpet was a bright orange shag with plastic plants distributed about. It was sort of kitschy at that time with the 60's and 70's being just a couple of decades before. However, in 2015 it has lost its charm it's just plain old and worn. At this point the interior has had NOT one upgrade. The carpet is still bright orange shag (actually the same carpet), the plastic plants still hanging around and the same gold veined 70's mirrors going up the stairs. It was really disappointing. I should say they have added old grey school-type lockers in the bedrooms for the clients to store their belongings. When one calls Time Out the voice on the recording sounds like that of the Crypt Keeper from The Tales of the Crypt. The lady is attractive enough but the business is a day spa and the initial impression is that the place is run by the Crypt Keeper. Now I happen to know that the daughter of this lady has a much younger much fresher more pleasant sounding voice than the one currently used to greet potential clients and I am absolutely at a loss as to why the recording does not feature her instead. It is the first contact some will have with this spa and I am certain that at least a few potential clients have hung up to go elsewhere swayed away by the less than inviting voice on the recording. I think maybe they thought her voice sounds "sultry" but no, not the case. It sounds like someone really old is suffering with emphysema and has been smoking for a lifetime. A spa is a healthful place and that voice does not ooze health. I was checked in and was confused with three other women with the same first name! It was a good 10 minutes of shuffling to figure out and they had to call my husband at work to charge additional funds due to the mix up (he had called ahead to pay for my services); embarrassing and inconvenient for me. I was then handed an old looking robe and asked my shoe size and was handed an old worn looking pair of plastic brown huaraches, which felt and looked like the jail shoes you see people in jail on t.v.wearing. YUCKY! I was lead out to the hot tub which felt great and the view is great but the water was murky and I was the first client! Yikes! My massage was good although as I was describing that I wanted some deep massage the masseuse was shaking her head no, so don't go expecting any deep massages. No therapeutic massage here. After the massage I was lead to the hot tub again where I soaked for a bit and visited with a lovely group of ladies. I opted to stay for lunch and was horribly disappointed. To start I was greeted with a pitcher of water (little did I know this would be the best part of the meal) and a relish tray divided in two with pickled beets on one side and pickled brussels sprouts on the other!! Are you kidding? Offering possibly two of the most hated vegetables on the planet? That is taking a huge risk. How about some carrots, celery, olives, pickles, cheese, salami, something people like? There is a lovely cheese shop called Dedrick's in Placerville they could frequent. Then lunch was brought out and it was as ghastly as the relish tray; it resembled an offering at the old folks home. A very small croissant, more like an oven baked crescent roll, with the ends cut off, some canned chicken chicken salad with mayo and celery (no spices or herbs to speak of) an overly thick slice of a tasteless tomato, a cucumber slice and one lonely leaf of spinach. Next to the pitiful sandwich a sorry attempt at a Waldorf salad; merely soft mealy apples cut up with a bit of mayo added, no raisins, no walnuts but a single small slice of kiwi, essentially flavorless. The third and final lunch plate offering was a hospital bowl full of green jello all stirred up with celery with whipped cream dollop atop this nightmare in a bowl. To finish the meal I was served a store bought chocolate cupcake, ugggh! Failure! I sat there the entire time running through the possible luncheon menus in my mind that could easily top what was offered at a similar price point and felt as though I wanted to help them do better. I do have to mention at this point that the lunch offering cost me $20!!! God, I could have done a better job going into Placerville or just going home. For what you get $20 is a ridiculous amount to charge. That lunch plate didn't cost $5 to put together. Oh and you can actually purchase those nasty beets and brussels sprouts at the resort! LOL My next scheduled visit will be my last, unfortunately, I've already posted a nonrefundable deposit. I will be skipping lunch though. read more

Well, I really really wanted to look the other way and just say what a wild experience. But I have a cold now, and so does our relative that went with me to take a "time out" It was a gift for my birthday and my other relative came with me. We did the sample package and upgraded to an hour massage. We were treated with fudge and cranberry/sparkling wine, and given our shirt dress to put on. We locked up our belongings in the lockers provided. We were lead out to the Hot Tub which was not very hot, and did not function, no way to turn on the jets. So, the employees come out to get you to take you for a session, and I asked her how to use the jacuzzi, she instructed that you hold the button down for at least 3 seconds and then it will come on. So, I did have a massage and the woman was very nice, i would have to say, each of them seemed to have a very raspy voice that reminds you of someone who might have retired from being a card dealer in Tahoe years ago. I was lead out to the patio and told they would come get me when they were ready. So I mulled around for about 30 min or more, I went back to the jacuzzi and tried to hold the button down to get a jet to work. Nothing. So I went to the house and asked the owner Edie, she told me people had been pushing those buttons for years and that was as good as it gets. Well, I went back to the lounge chairs and waited for my friend. I watched as each person was greeted and lead to the jacuzzi. did not smell chlorine and did not see one person cleaning anywhere. Long and short of it, both myself and my relative had a sore throat that night and now home have a full blown cold. Thinking this place really needs an update and needs some hygiene influence. My voice now sounds like those at the spa. Raspy like I had smoked for years, which I have not. Sorry, just can't give it a good review. read more

Took clients or a spa day and everyone was very excited. We arrived and upon entering the house was immediately embarrassed by the outdated facility. Everyone was was really nice but it didn't seem like they had the training for the services they provided. I have to say that the pedicure was the worst of all. Massage was three minutes and all you get is a nail polish coat. I don't recommend this place. :( I was really hoping it would have been great because the location is beautiful. read more

Definitely an "experience" and not just a massage. It is a little pricey, but I have been treated to the overnight package twice and have thoroughly enjoyed myself both times. Massages and facials were wonderful both times. Hot tub is awesome pre-massage, between treatments and afterwards. Employees are super-friendly, wanting to get you whatever you want, before you even know you want it. Food is wonderful! Unlimited beverages (because we spent the night, we were not cut off at a certain time) are a plus. Only down-side......manicures and pedicures lack what you would find at a "regular" nail salon. What a wonderful spa day we had. Great place in the wine country in El Dorado county. Between treatments you can wander thru the entire place which is a really large mansion type house with over night rooms. You get to visit with other guests. That was nice. You can sit in living type room or the dining area and beverages and homemade fudge are served on an on-going basis. Edie the owner and greeter was very warm and friendly. The employees could not have been nicer and good at what they do. All in all a terrific place. I highly recommend it! read more

The warm, inviting atmosphere, the caring staff, and the wonderful location just spell relaxation for me. I have been here quite a few times over the years and have never had a bad experience. Their massage therapists are great, and I have never had a problem asking for deeper or for lighter massages. The facials are wonderful. The lunches are light, healthy, and delightful. Between treatments you can relax on the patio, stay inside, or visit with others. This is not a 'spa' like one of the high priced establishments, but a very nice getaway with great treatments, and you do feel pampered! read more

I must agree with Karen A. (I'm the other relative). This place does have potential, the location is beautiful. The massage was great. The facial wasn't bad if one dismisses the attitude of the lady tasked with providing it. The spa really should be replaced or at least permanently covered. A dysfunctional spa is a petrie dish: Germs thrive in warm moist environments. We were quick to realize that this was not a place at which either of us wished to spend an entire day, so as soon as our "services" were rendered, we headed back home...to a crystal clear pool and working spa. This has always been a place for me to come and regroup and relax. I have come by myself and come with a group of friends. The whole place Lends it self to relaxation and laughter from the Way you were treated to the various amenities.: A visit to the outdoor hot tub overlooking the Sierra foothills with a cranberry champagne cocktail, chocolates all about, lunch if you choose. They welcome you to bring a book and relax outdoor on the deck or indoors on comfy couches. The motif is ultra feminine 1950s Marilyn Monroe. I can't see how anyone would rate this place above a two star. The place is dated to say the least. The people are nice but you pay a high price for horrible service. The massage was supposed to be one hour and lasted 40 minutes if that. And I would not call what I got a massage. Really if you are going to charge people for an hour massage it needs to be an hour and it needs to be consistent My person left like 3 times. I like other people who posted noticed the hot tub or lukewarm tub not working right. I have to say I will never go back and I would say to others Don't go. While the view is nice it is not that nice and the cost is way to expensive for services not rendered. read more
