I am extremely grateful I did not get to the massage point with Kate, who is very unprofessional and rude. Reading her self-proclaimed bio above is so far from what I experienced. I reached out and we talked back and forth, and finally booked a time on Thursday for the next Monday. Randomly on Friday, she tells me, I hope you don't mind there will be 2 dogs there during your massage. She claims people like the noises, such as snoring during massages. This is not for me. Although I love dogs, I find spa music or waterfalls, or ocean sounds relaxing, and dog noises not at all. That's for having fun and playtime or hanging out. So only 2 hours later, at 9 AM I let her know this isn't for me, and asked questions about it, and clearly showed concern about being able to hear dogs making noise. Kate ignored my emails about this. So by Sunday, I emailed saying this was disappointing, I guess she is not responding- maybe she has nowhere to put her dogs? IDK. So suddenly, I get a response and she offers to leave them at home, but at this point I am thinking, wow, she is quite unprofessional and she should have (1) asked about dogs before we booked an appointment and (2) what a terrible way to conduct business by obviously replying only because the client is not going to show up due to lack of communication. Unbelievably, she continues to email me trying to prove she didn't do what she did, and then says she is very grateful I am not booking with her. She knows I am taking my daughter to a pediatric neurologist in the city the following day, which is quite stressful, but she is sooooo concerned with herself, and no one else, that she is rude to boot. Based on my experience, this is NOT a person who cares about giving anyone a massage to help them. Any of us can get busy, or make a mistake, but how one handles it, speaks volumes. She did not handle this with grace. I happily can publish the string of emails if needed to demonstrate how I was not told about the dogs before booking, and then ghosted for 2.5 days, then finally Kate reached out to offer to not have the dogs there only after I said I would not be there due to having no idea about the dogs, and no communication. Anyone with compassion for those with stress in their lives, and kids that are suffering, would not send a bunch of emails. I think a better way to handle this situation, would have been to apologize for not being in touch and that it didn't work out. Instead, she kept badgering me. If you all like barking, scratching, licking, and snoring while you are getting a massage, I guess she's the one for you. I will stick with the professionals who communicate in a timely manner, and can offer a mutual respect. I would not have bothered with a review, if she was polite and moved on, but thought people should know how her demeanor changed when she suddenly wasn't going to make money and do a massage with dogs. read more
