It was originally a duplex, but changed to a 2 room cabin. It was cozy, not for people who want to spread out with lots of space. But, they have other cabins that are much roomier. They had coffee ready to go in the coffee maker, enough kitchen supplies to do a little cooking, though we did not cook. They accommodated us in any way that we asked and were very friendly. They are located 1 block off main street which allowed us to walk to restaurants, walking trails, museum, city parks, grocery store and little shops. Our little cabin was on the street and Wells Fargo is across the street. Not much of a view sitting on the porch, but very quiet. The other little cabins are clustered around with some of them having a lovely view of a grassy area with a picnic table.

The room was large and clean and the laundry room had newer washers and dryers that I wasn't afraid to put my clothes in. The only drawbacks were; the outside hall door lock was broken - and as a female I would have preferred the extra security of having a working lock, The shower started out really hot but got cool quickly. We did check out later in the day - so maybe the hot water just ran out.

While the prices were higher than we planned to spend that night (we were headed out backpacking the next day), the overall hotel experience was a good one. Relatively convenient to the downtown area when we went to have dinner. Accepted the dog with no issues, although not a super location for taking the dog for a long walk in the evening. Overall, I would recommend this place for our next visit.

Upon arrival, they did not honor our booking price. The room was in abhorrent condition. There was no toilet paper, tissue paper, a broken remote control, unkept bedding, and it smelled bad. And there was almost non-existent service. When I contacted Marriott about the above-referenced, they told me that Don McGee (from Fairfield, Afton) claimed he called and spoke with me and advised all the problems were Marriott corporate related. Mr. McGee never called me. When people lie about what they have done, I become infuriated. I demanded a refund for the overcharge from Marriott. Marriott Elite staff told me Mr. McGee said it was in the works, but it would take [upwards] of 20 business days for me to see it back on my credit card. Are you kidding me? Twenty business days is almost a month to get a $10.00 refund from this hotel. In what universe does a refund to a credit card take one month? I smell retribution for my complaints. And it doesn't have a pleasant odor. Steer clear of this disreputable hotel if you find yourself in the area.
