The Dining room is set and you eat with other campers and hikers. They even let me ring the dinner triangle to let everyone in the cabins and around the lodge know that dinner was ready. We took an eight mile, over night hike to view Bridger Wilderness. The crew does pack trips, which means they will meet you on the trail with a pack horse full of supplies. This was so helpful. We are not the most experienced of hikers, and to have this option was perfect. We also took a day long ride on horseback. They packed us a lunch, and we took a guided trail ride. It was amazing! The horses were so friendly. While I am an experienced rider, my husband had never been on a horse. They have horses for all experience levels. Wayland (his horse) was perfect for him, and Rita was perfect for me. Everything about our trip was very authentic. From the dinner triangle, to the horses. From Stan teaching us about the "Tarzan call", and the other man cracking the whip and teaching one of the other campers to do it. Each morning and night there was a wood fire in the lodge, and a relaxing place to sit and visit, or play a board game by lantern light. Big Sandy is a family run lodge and everyone treats you as if you are part of their family.

What an amazing experience! I did the 2-hour horseback trail ride. I was impressed by how genuinely…read morepassionate and caring the guides were. It is a family-owned business, so the guides are related. The pace was relaxed and comfortable. You are on the horse the whole time, but they give plenty of breaks for both the riders and the horses. Throughout the ride, the guides will share fun insights about the horses themselves, the local wildlife and plants, the ranch itself and of course the Grand Tetons. They welcome all skill levels - even total beginners like me. The guides take the time to teach you how to direct and handle your horse, and the horses are very well-behaved. They also keep the group small, which makes the experience feel much more personal. You'll see stunning views of the Hoback area, the Snake River Canyon, and the Teton Range. You'll ride to see a spectacular view of Bidger Teton National Park. The guide is so nice that he will take pictures of you on your horse with the scenic background. It is an unforgettable experience for me. Highly recommend them.

The horses are well taken care of and the people we meet were very nice. We read the reviews before booking here and I can say that the family owned operation is well run. Yes the lady is not very computer savvy just be a little patient. But who's in a hurry when you are out in the beautiful country side. After our ride we stayed for the bbq and I'm telling you that was the best T bone steak I have had in a really long time. It was delicious !! We can't wait to go back to this ranch for another ride and bbq. You will not be disappointed.

In just a few weeks, I saw NUMEROUS clients get badly injured due to being bucked off stock, mocked by staff, and treated poorly. The employees are careless and don't pay attention to stock clients are put on, and, even worse, dangerous/ill mannered stock are kept around to be used on these high dollar outings without regard to client safety. Just this season, a client was refused a refund for a several thousand dollar UPCOMING hunt after being badly bucked off a horse and injuring his back in the backcountry on the Best of the West hunt he was currently on. Often after the clients were out of camp or hearing range, staff would mock them for their injuries, hunting abilities, or tip amounts. Numerous clients left hunts angry with their experiences, the poor staff and guide behaviors, and the careless attitude of the owner that refuses to make poor situations right. This is just the beginning. The racist sentiments displayed by the owner created a tense environment and I listened to the owner state that parts of Wyoming were overrun with 'slant-eyed motherfuckers' in reference to Asian people. All in all, this outfitting business is highly unprofessional, downright dangerous, and disrespectful to their clients. If you are spending money for an experience, I wouldn't recommend trying to get it here.
