Beautiful spot to relax by Lake Sammamish in the summertime. We had a great day. Quiet and cute.

It also has this circular bar that you can grab onto, push off the edge with your feet, and spin around on- for some reason the girls seem to flock to this thing more than the boys! There are some smaller areas for smaller children. There is this really neat contraption that my son calls the Spider, with ropes for climbing. And there's a zip-line that's pretty nifty too. Baseball games can still be caught on the other side of the park. Plenty of benches and picnic tables for parents to watch the games while still keeping an eye on the kids. The other review is pretty old. This place isn't really secluded anymore and it definitely stays busy!

There's a great little railroad-themed playground that my son plays at. They have a fun wooden play set with a metal slide that's very zippy. Also, there's a baseball field that has games you can watch from the tree-shaded benches. I really like sitting there on a sunny summer day while the kids play. All around the park are railroad tracks with old train cars to look at. There's a nice little path to around the park that leads you through behind the back of Jak's Grill and Stan's BBQ, and The Chinese restaurant. Also, look here for an AMAZING 3D map of the park. You can see what I mean about it being hidden. http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=rxnms34txd5q&style=o&lvl=2&scene=3726831

You can take your dog, family or out of town visitors to show them the beauty of our forested natural neighborhood without them being overwhelmed. I personally loved trail running when I was younger and would go out most days . Now I mostly hike or walk the trail to take a break from working remote. I feel lucky to have this beautiful gem so close by! Beware on weekends in nice weather the parking fills up quickly, but you can usually find a spot most weekdays.

Trails are well maintained and clearly marked. Please stay on them! Yes, there are some fun caves that are left over from the mines, no I will not tell you where they are, because they are extremely dangerous and you never know when there's going to be a problem. Either way, it's a great place to go as far (or not) as you'd like. Parking can get a little crazy depending on which trailhead you're aiming for and it's good to come earlier in the day. Also keep in mind that Cougar Mountain isn't just some cute, random name. Know what wildlife lives here, how to handle yourself, and remember that you're the trespasser.
