Forst time visiting this park and we really liked it! It is very family friendly and clean. There were families having bbq and people playing music, and on the "beach" area you have more families just relaxing and having a nice time! The beach/park es clean and it is on great area to visit!

There are a dozen trash bins around the area... how sad.

Please don't litter! :( Visitors are leaving trash all around picnic areas and beaches. Shame on you... & there are so many trash bins for you to use! What a sad thing to see!

Get here super early in the morning to avoid crowds, water temperature is great in the summer, lake is shallow enough for kids to play and grownups to swim. They have everything you would need to spend a great day at the beach. Tables available, "first come first serve," bathrooms, volleyball court and a nice playground. You can bring your own snacks but there's also ice cream and snacks for sale. Such a great place for these hot days!

The sunset on the water here is amazing. I saw lots of people fishing here and the beach is clean and well-kept. The parking lot is quite big and there is a nice path leading to the water surrounded by lots of graas, great for dogs!

Was in the area to visit Microsoft and picked the nearest park for a walk. It's located in a very nice neighborhood. The park itself is clean. The small parking lot was nearly empty given it was a weekday, but can imagine parking may be an issue during the weekends. I enjoyed the walk here. The view of Lake Sammamish is beautiful and the park is cleanly maintained. I also seen a guy fishing there for Trout so there must be fish out there. If I can help it, I would buy real estate in the area just to enjoy this park more often.

Idylwood Beach Park is a nice park that is dwarfed by an even nicer one, Marymoor Park down the road from here. I was heading over to Marymoor when I made a wrong turn, but by chance happened to come across Idylwood. Idylwood is a neighborhood park located off Lake Sammamish. There is a moderate amount of parking in the main lot. But I saw a sign indicating that there was additional parking nearby if this lot was full. This park is great as it is well maintained with a clear path to the water. The park is full of greenery, has picnic tables (some covered), a children's playground, a volleyball court area and a floating bridge to jump into the water from. And there is really a real beach here. It isn't a pretty or large beach, but you will find sand and enough space to lie on a towel and get some sun. Honestly, I had no idea that there were actual functional beaches on the Eastside but I found one here! I feel by visiting this park that I have come across a best kept secret in Redmond. If you are looking for a park by the water on the Eastside to spend part of a sunny day at, Idylwood would be a good option.

Play Area = **** Parking = ** SPF = ***** Large Park off the shores of Lake Sammamish with lots of room to run and play. Play Area (4 Stars) Really nice play area with a couple of fun slides. There is a large Big Kid play structure with an adjacent toddler play space. Parking (2 Stars) At peak times Parking is impossible. Plan to park in the overflow lot and walk to the park. The park IS worth the hassle of parking as long as you plan for it. Keep close control of your kids as you'll have to cross a VERY busy street. SPF (5 Stars) One of my favorites. There is a covered area with a few picnic tables right next to the play structures. Good seating for Mom to watch the kids and sit out of the sun. The area also has a lot of old growth evergreens that offer good shade.

This is a great beach park nestled on Lake Sammamish close to Marymoore park . It offers swimming (no lifeguards), BBQ pits, volleyball nets, play structures for kids, and a large grass area to play frisbee. This park is extremely popular during the summer months, and has an overflow parking lot (look for signs). Really it is nice in all seasons.

It's fun and free too bad it has too much fecal bacteria . Don't bring your dogs in the water and don't feed the birds ... they poop

Love this park. Great place to hangout on a weekend. And it's pet friendly. And unlike Vasa park it's free entry.

Parking is difficult on a sunny day. Just like all the other parks. Nice beach but crowded.

Lovely little spot on the water, but could definitely have used more parking nearby. The overflow lot is great, but it's a bit of a walk.

Great shallow beach, playground, etc. Get here early for decent parking. Watch out for such poop.

    - dog paradise!!! -…read more It's insane how long I've live here without ever really visited this park other than the two times that I was here for cirque du soleil lol. First of all, this park is HUGE! We walked around the center or the park and we passed by 3 playgrounds, one huge dog park and a garden. There was also a climbing area and they have ropes there for that too. It doesn't look too fun since it was burning hot. The dog park though .. OMG it's amazing! There are tons of little bushes for doggies to pee and jump around... Or play hide and seek. I love seeing all the doggies run around without a leash. I think it's just so wonderful and they all look super happy. Two huge doggies came to play with us and I got to pat them. They are super fluffy!!! I can't even tell the breed but they are huge with long fur! My daughter was in a carrier on me and she was a bit nervous when the doggies sniffied her feet, but overall she was fine with it. I also think this is also for dog owners to meet and mingle... Dog friends anyone? The garden is mostly for people to plant stuff, so it wasn't too interesting. There was also a performance area with a ticket booth, and several spots for picnic. Ps. Pay the $1 parking fee, or worry about the possible fine when you are spending time at the park.

If giganticness were a thing then this park would get full stars. However as the giganticness is in…read moremany cases quite empty then I've reduced the stars. Much of the giganticness is used for events, which I can't rate the park itself on; also at least from the sign when you enter, you have to pay to park here (everywhere? I don't know) which is a huge thumbs down from me. Pay at a park? No thank you. There's a cool/cute farm thingee on the right when you drive in with a structure that looks like a windmill without the rudder. There's an also cool totem pole near the entrance. After that it's....a lot of grass, walk and bike paths, great to take your dog I'd say - including an off leash section. There's a lot to offer and incentive to get to know the park better, which I aspire to do. In spite of the giganticness the (south?) entry off Lake Sammamish Pkway is fairly nondescript so just make sure you obey your gps lol.
