Definitely a different kind of date night. A fun experience overall, but not something I'd choose to do more than once. When we arrived, the employee gave us a tutorial and some tips, which was helpful. We had an hour of play time, which felt like more than enough. We had some time to take turns throwing and then played some games. There were many, many times that my axe did not stick and bounced back towards our feet. We had an hour to play, they had game ideas already out, we just had to choose one. I think we went on a slow night, we were the only ones there, it was nice to have the place to ourselves. I think they have deals if you go on certain days. Towards the end of the time we were getting into a rhythm and I was killing it. Our teacher/coach who was running the place by himself gave us some pointers and at first- yeah we four sucked. But after a few guidance words, we started getting the hang of it. This is a pretty dope place. I was intimidated at first but after we got a quick tutorial from the owner I started throwing axes like a pro. I wrecked my coworkers in one of the games, so just on that alone the experience was worth it. The tic tac toe game is super fun and the strawberry lemonade is good. Axe throwing always seemed like an interesting thing to try. I've used hatchets and axes in woodworking, but never have thrown one. We attended with a group of 6 adults and found the owner and manager attentive when needed, thorough instructions provided and additional help if needed. Some in our group seemed to get it right away, others trying different things and not having any success. After the manager's analysis of throwing technique, got it on the first try.
