I counted 7-8 fairways that really need help. Not what I expected from a course with its heritage. The rough was too much as well...should lose balls in 2nd cut rough. Greens, however, were very true and I enjoyed them very much. Not worth the full price (which thankfully I didn't pay) until the fairways come back.

Whereas it is a nice layout in general and features good greens, most of their tee boxes (front) are in terrible shape. Most tee boxes are exceptionally small, poorly maintained, and rarely flat. If the management would devote some time to reconstruct these tee boxes RHGC could be a great course.

I got on here using the GolfNow App for just $20 during the week. From the #1 tee, you can tell you're in for a doozy. I was surprised at how tight and how much ungulation this course has for being out in the cornfields. Greens: 4.3/5 Fairways: 4.1/5 Tees: 4/5 This course is different from any other course in East Central Indiana. And that's a good thing because most are flat with little challenge, but Royal Hylands has it all.. multiple water hazards, abundant trees and plenty of ungulation. I would recommend this course to anyone who's tired of playing the same courses in ECI.

The course was super wet as it had rained for 6 hours the early morning of making it a puzzle to maneuver throughout the course. Regardless of that the course was beautiful and super challenging. We don't know if we'd ever make it back so we played the tips (very challenging) to get the full experience. Boy was it a full experience! We're both long enough but if you're anywhere not in the fairway you are punished, repeatedly. Accuracy is king and hitting fairways is a must. Greens were pretty slow because of the rain, but if they're a little drier I can see them being very fast. Bunkers were compacted and pretty much mud because of the rain. The par 3's were some of the longest par 3's I've ever played. 3/4 we're over 230 yards with 1 being 275! Just insane! Par 4 we're lengthy with most reaching 500. 2 of the par 5's were over 600. Quite a few blind shots so playing previously would help know where to go. Practice facilities were nice which included free range balls. Overall it's a nice course that can be challenging if you're not hitting fairways.

When you drive up, first you notice a massive amount of green land with trees bordering the property. There's a 100 acres of land, so there's plenty of green space. Down the drive, there's a parking lot next to their main building. There's space for 30-40 cars, at the very least. Walking into the building, if you look to your right at sunset (when we arrived), you'll catch a brilliant sunset past the trees. It's a wonderful time to be in nature! Once you walk down the path and into the venue, allow your eyes to soak up the cozy warmth of the wooden walls, bar, and floor. This is a lovely place! Right when you walk in there is a bar to the right and then space for around 4-5 round tables and some counters/long table space for food. Keep walking and you'll have three amazing bathrooms to your left. I know, right? How strange is it to be in love with a venue's bathrooms, but you'll know when you see it. The bathroom doors are set to slide open along the wall, and are all made of re-purposed wood from a Brown County auction (thanks to one of the owners' family members explaining this to me!). The bathroom interiors are all bright colors and nothing is gender specific. Also, it's eco-friendly! The sink water fills up the toilet tanks and there are dozens of white towels & a laundry basket. There's a larger gathering place that can fit around 7-8 round tables in the next room, and past this is a door leading to the outside. They allow bonfires, woohoo! Beautiful. Also, the land is so far away from Bloomington and Indianapolis, that there's no light pollution ruining the night sky. On a clear night, there are dozens of sparkling stars. Camping may even be allowed (it was at this event) and there's plenty of space. They have space for disc golf as well. Overall, I loved the place. I hope to attend future events at this venue. This is a family-owned property and it's the perfect addition to the Nashville/southern Indiana community!
