Judy Katz OTR/L and Associates - An activity where my son threw animals at a giant keyboard

My youngest started seeing Judy's associates for OT when he was 3 years old. We first met Judy…read morebecause she shared a waiting room with his speech therapist at the time, Julie Kahn. When OT was recommended for him I ended up there out of convenience since we were already in the building for speech a few times a week. While Judy was always very helpful throughout the years, he mostly worked with her fabulous and talented associates: Susan Swidler and Allison Schneider. Susan and Allison would come up with the most fun lesson plans each week that made OT so much fun. In fact, OT quickly became my son's favorite activity...and he didn't even realize that the projects he was working on or the games he was playing were helping him. He spent 5 years with them and sometimes did therapy on his own, but often with other kids as well...developing friendships along the way. After each lesson they would send a recap along with many amazing pics, which I often posted on our family shared site. Even the grandparents were in awe with the creative activities they put together week after week. While he could still probably benefit from OT (couldn't we all) last year we decided that he had sadly outgrown their space/program and he officially graduated. He now works on core strength and other necessary skills through karate and other activities, but we miss seeing Ms. Susan and Ms. Allison every week. We were lucky that our insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) covered their services, but if not covered by insurance think they are worth every penny for any child needing OT since they truly go the extra mile and have the kids best interest at heart.

The admissions (Gustavo) gentleman has been extremely helpful...accommodating and pleasant ...some of the CNA staff have been questionable..I know when I try and get some help for my mom (whose now declining) I MUST step lightly..Maria could be nice but not too happy to help..Rafael was extremely condescending to me..felt like I was bothering him..very angry Amanda (PT) has gone over and above her duties..difficult to be there as it is and to have staff be rude or ignore makes it worse

I'm sorry to say our experience with Whitehall was not a good one. First, the facility is dated and…read moreis in desperate need of repairs to the walls, and it needs to be painted. I only mention this since it's the first impression you get when you go into the facility. The good: the people working there in skilled nursing, physical, and occupational therapy seem to truly care about the patients. There are two main problems: (1) the food is awful, and (2) they don't have enough staff to support the patients. We were there with an older relative who had a knee replacement. She was not able to, or supposed to get up on her own and even needed help to go into the restroom. While we were there the first day, she hit the call button and we waited so long for someone to come to help her, she almost soiled herself. I had to go out of the room and find someone who could assist. The first night she was there, again she hit the call button for restroom assistance. Again, she waited to the point where she got up herself. Of course, someone one day out of knee surgery shouldn't do that, but it was that or soil herself so she got up. She made it to the restroom before she fell, requiring a trip to the ER. The next day, we talked to one of the therapists who explained they had someone call in sick the day before, requiring the facility to move someone off of our floor to a different one. This left her the only person monitoring the patients on our floor. They couldn't keep up with the patients. The next day, we spoke with a manager who contradicted the aide saying she didn't know why we were told they were short staffed and said they weren't. That was when I realized we couldn't rely on them to take care of her and decided she should be moved back to her assisted living facility and hire skilled nursing and physical therapy. I cannot in good conscience recommend Whitehall. I see similar comments in some of the other reviews, which I should have read before placing her there. I am terribly disappointed and even though moving her and hiring the help ourselves was much more expensive, I couldn't keep her in a facility where I couldn't count on the care. Oh - I gave them three stars rather than one or two because of the quality of the therapists. If they weren't good, my rating would have been much lower. Also, I see enough pictures of the facility posted that I didn't think I needed to take any. The ones posted by reviewers are pretty spot on.

I was here maybe 10 years ago and only the physical location has remained the same. 10 years ago…read morethe office personnel and care was amazing. Times have changed. The therapist besides never saying bye when we were done or checking the next appointment to see if it was scheduled did not really have much to offer for my condition. I think maybe two of the times he clearly addressed it and then went off script for other parts that he thought I could use help with. I wasn't there for that. The final straw was when I came in and only after sitting there for fifteen minutes did he say we did not have an appointment. The person behind the desk never said a word to me. . I had that appointment and one more on my calendar but when I went back to check all correspondence I realized that no communication was sent listing appointments (unlike in the past). Not the same place at all.

As soon as I walked up to the front desk I smelled urine then politely asked the young lady I left a message and why did I get a reply her response was she was busy mind you the whole place looked like a ghost town saw one patient with a therapist and lady sitting down and my next question was how many therapists do you have since I only saw one in the big place. I just got bad vibes from the place a walked out. I just don't see why this place got 4 stars. I don't recommend low energy place and don't seem like they want new patients.
