Unfortunately, I can't recommend working with Timber & Stone Construction LLC. In 2020, we hired them to demo and build a new patio and new deck. Although the company has some good workers, we ran into a number of problems. When the old patio was demolished, damage was done to our adjoining chimney. When the new patio was installed, porous sand was used against the foundation. The result was water seeping into our chimney and eventually ruining our furnace. $4,200 for us to replace the furnace. Our new deck was built with an underdeck water handling system (recommended by Timber & Stone) that was supposed to prevent water from leaking down into the indoor space below it. It does not work and we get water leaking in everytime it rains. Finally, a worker inadvertently crashed his backhoe into our fieldstone well structure, demolishing the housing and ceramic well pipe. We have contacted the owner, Bill Laisdell, a number of times about these issues, but he has not responded. Not every project goes perfectly, but the good contractors work with you until you get what you paid for. We were expecting Bill to be that kind of contractor, but it has not worked out that way for us. Very disappointing. read more

We were very excited about doing our project with Bill and his team because of the good reviews and pictures on a local site. That excitement quickly turned to anxiety, and it became clear we were in for a fight. Be very careful of this company. He will blame you for his mistakes, threaten you, yell at you, tell you you're the most difficult customer he's ever worked with because he isn't doing what was discussed or planned! Then he will send you rocket.com lien papers, and tell you they were filed even though the job is not complete. Get permits, get every detail in writing and make him sign it, don't listen to his threats and watch his and his employees every move. Protect you property because there is no consideration of its value. I have to say that a few of his team really wanted to make things right and worked hard to fix things. We hired Bill and his crew to build a 14x14 screen room off the back of our home and to add an egress window to our basement. The crew, led by the site foreman Don, was diligent and professional. The team communicated project status clearly and even though we lost a couple of days due to the weather, the job was completed in a timely manner. The addition and egress window came out beautifully and we are very pleased with the results. Our neighbors also used Timber & Stone for their patio a few years ago and had nothing but good things to say about their experience. We plan to hire Timber & Stone again in the Spring to install a hardscape/patio and complete our outdoor renovations, and would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for similar services. read more

My job cost around $15,000. Part of the job was poorly done. Bill refused to repair his faulty work. Bill tried to blame me for his failure. I hired him, not the other way around. Bill's 3 year warranty is worthless when he refuses to fix his mistakes. I've had several people ask me who did the work since most of it looks good from the surface. When I explain how Bill refused to stand behind his work, they are no longer interested. Too bad. Bill lost several potential jobs. Think twice or three times and then find someone who is reputable and is proud to stand behind their work. read more

At first company and owner seemed legit up until the work was complete or I thought. Knew something wasn't correct and upon doing research and looking again the wall that was supposed to be completed was not to the height it should be. Owner had a crew come back out and it still was not correct then refused to fix and has left it as is. I will have to hire someone else to complete it. A typical business that is all about the holy dollar and not the quality and completion of the work. Stay away from them trust me. Sad but true. read more
