A competent and no-nonsense doctor. I had back muscle pain issues, he first examined me face-down, and then on my back on a rolling device massage table with two hot towels, with an electric stimulant device on my back for 10 minutes. It was heaven. He showed my husband how to give me massage to help with my back. He also demonstrated a set of exercises to do 3 to 5 times a day. As others have stated, Dr. Franks is simply the best. Most chiropractors try to sign you up for maintenance programs or long term care, until your insurance runs out. Dr. Franks doesn't do that. I was in the ER on Monday with severe sciatica and I could not get up and my leg was numb. I could barely tie my shoes this morning so when I got there I thought I would at least get some relief. Forgive the length, but some background might help. I am a martial arts instructor who doesn't see doctors who just tell me to just give it ice and rest (rest is not an option). I don't trust doctors despite my injury prone year. I was ready to cancel on the friend for the weekend due to a sparring injury. Couldn't walk, sleep, or think from pain of swollen foot and ankle. This was so bad my colleagues laughed at my grapefruit foot. My friend didn't want me to cancel on him and was so confident in Dr. Franks that he even foot (pun accidental) the Bill. Had he not, I would never have gone due to cynicism over doctors and especially DCs So with 1 phone call (actually text) , I was in his office within 15-20 minutes. That was a first for me. I didn't even finish signing in at the front before being called back. Doc thoroughly examined my foot and maybe took humorous delight in my squirming. He went to work and within about 15 minutes I was walking again. He wasn't done though as I got a second exam room. 20-25 minutes total I walked out without crutches and now I am walking normal. Went from an 8 pain to about a 4. 3 hours later (now) I would say the pain is a 2.5. I will highly recommend and use Dr. Franks again and again. I had been having excruciating pain in my neck/shoulder area for over 5 weeks. I saw 2 medical doctors, 2 chiropractors and one acupuncturist with no relief. The MD's, chiropractors and acupuncturist all said it was inflammation in my C6/C7 area. The doctors prescribed me with muscle relaxers and oral steroids for pain and swelling. Taking those meds along with OTC acetaminophen or ibuprofen had no effect for weeks. Some friends referred me to Dr. Franks who was able to get me in right away. His office is clean, organized and professional. Within my first few sentences of describing my symptoms, he smiled and nodded and told me he knew what it was. He explained to me the treatment, performed the treatment and showed me some exercises and stretches to continue to heal. The pain level the previous nights WITH taking medication was 9-10/10. I hope younger people find him sooner and spend less time with the the less talented and not have wait till you're older to meet a good one. He is extremely well educated and truly gifted to hone in on,and treat the issue with the tissue,or bone or whatever is out of balance. I find his claim to fame is in training his patients how to stay out of his office. He can do the tune ups ,but desires his patients to do their part of their physical upkeep by using exercises specific to their needs. Pulled my back (and had some knee pain) while packing and moving furniture... went to Dr. Tim! What a joy! He was so attentive, asked questions and diagnosed where my pain was stemming from very quick. Spent about 10 minutes on the roller machine with some heat/shock pads to relax the muscles. Then moved to the "cracking room" (official term- haha) where he massaged my back, then snap, crackle, pop! Two days later now, I am almost totally back to normal. Personable and effective! Best.
