If you're looking for a restaurant with great seafood and water side views, you should check out…read moreNorth Docks in Wellington. Hubby and I stopped here upon first arriving in Prince Edward County this past weekend. The inside of the restaurant was not busy. They have a large patio with views of the harbour, and this seemed to be the more popular seating option. Our server Kendra was upbeat, friendly, and welcoming. She took our orders right away. The menu offers a variety of delicious sounding food options, including chicken wings, mussels, fish and chips, and pan seared fish. The white wine steamed mussels ($18) were plentiful and served with pieces of crusty bread to help sop up the broth. My pan seared pickerel ($18) tasted very fresh and was perfectly cooked. It was served in a butter sauce with grilled asparagus and zucchini. The prices here are reasonable with most food items coming to less than $25. They have a number of great local wine and cider options. I would definitely recommend dining at this lovely restaurant if you're in the county.

It is typical pub/bar food. I got the fish and chips. Huge portions, everything was freshly made. I loved the breading on the fish it was light and crispy. The service was great, staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great experience and nothing can beat that view!

Along with being a boutique hotel, this Bistro has a great restaurant which is open to the public…read moreall year long. It is much more than a coffee shop. They make delicious sandwiches, chili, soup and much more. My favorite is the Chicken Caesar Wrap, which is the best I've ever had. The server/owner is very hospitable, and she will give you information about the property and the surrounding area and attractions. After shopping in downtown Bloomfield, stop in to have a bite before heading on.

Had lunch with my wife and another couple. Arrived at about 1130am on a Thursday. The lone server…read moregreeted us and told us there was two tables ahead of us, and there would be a delay in taking our orders. Once seated and she took our drink order, the drinks arrived about 15 mins later. Then about 40 mins later she can back to take our orders. We ordered a BLT sandwich and three Chicken Ceasar Wraps. All came with fries. About another 40 mins later, the BLT sandwich came with barely a hand full of fries. The sandwich was warm and partly cold fries. The BLT sandwich was $ 15.00. The wraps came...barely a hand full of fries. My wrap did not have the fries since they were still being cooked. Each Wrap was about $ 17.00. We ate so fast because we were soo hungry, asked for our bill, which was over $ 80.00!! Even when paid for the bill, I had to remind the server about my missing fries. She brought them in a takeout container with again barely a hand full of fries. We would not go back again as we had just stayed at Isiah Tubbs Resort. Not recommended. Slow service and food value for the $$ was poor.

One thing I love about small towns is that random people have no problem striking up conversation…read morewith you...anywhere. The other day we chatted with a lovely couple at Gus's Family Restaurant in Picton. He told us he was a chef at It's Wickedly Sweet, a small bakery about 15 drive from where we were. He had me at "Apple Pie" and "Bakery", so today I grabbed my fellow pie-connoisseur and made a lovely morning country drive to what TripAdvisor reviews called a "tiny hole in the wall that is a must-visit." We had a chuckle at the fun sign for the little shop "Wickedly Sweet", with a picture of a witch complete with pointy hat and matching nose and chin. I liked it. We walked into exactly what we expected: a small country shop with colourful baked yumminess behind glass, wrapped in plastic and displayed on tables and jarred preserves in various flavours on the shelves. Tchotchkes and other country decor filled the walls and it all felt welcoming and comforting. Dan, the gentleman we met at the restaurant, came out to greet us and took the time to tell us all about the goods. He's very friendly and personable, something I picked up when we chatted with him at Gus's. Chiara and I did well - between the two of us, we picked up 2 chicken pies, a tourtière (apparently traditionally made...with apple!), a blueberry, a mango/pineapple/raspberry pie, mixed berry crumble pie, a few muffins, a bag of chocolate chip cookies (of course) a banana loaf, and a small box of tarts and a brownie. All of these for around $80 - pretty reasonable if you ask me, considering most of their goods are baked fresh that morning. (I really admire small business owners of home baked/cooked/made anything.) Sadly, their apple pies weren't ready, but we will be coming back soon to buy them. (Maybe we'll call ahead next time?) What we've sampled from our stash so far has been very, very good. The pie crusts were buttery yet light. (Delicious) The chicken pie was really good. The tourtière was an interesting mix of savoury beef mixed with apple and cinnamon...which, we're told is a traditional Quebecoise flavour. The "Plain Jane" butter tarts were perfect, the cookies were a hit with the kids and I was told by my entire family that i didn't buy enough brownies. At tomorrow's dinner party, we'll be trying the mango/pineapple/raspberry pie. I can't wait. Maybe I'll have to go back to It's Wickedly Sweet sooner.
