Instead of going for the Old Fashioned Breakfast, I went for the Bastard Benedict, which happened to be two poached eggs smothered in Hollandaise sauce on a sourdough English muffin, with their house salad & a hashbrown. The mistake I made was that we were there for only a couple of days and by first ordering the Bastard Benedict, there was no way in the world I was going to try anything else in this shortened time. The Bastard Benedict was one of the most memorable food experiences I've ever had. Had I been able to stay longer I would have tried everything on the menu. If the Bastard Coffee House was in Toronto, there'd be line-ups to get in full-time.

Today I was downtown shopping in -20C weather and left my cellphone at home by accident, I did not take my vehicle and really needed to make an immediate phone call. I asked the barista to use the phone and she stated that the shop did not have a phone. I then ordered a latte and politely asked how the coffee shop receives phone calls from customers. She stated that the phone belonged to the owner. I then asked her to ask him to borrow his phone.
