I called the store this morning hoping there might be some treats available for me to put aside. The owner Don (such a nice guy) answered the phone and asked what I would like. I told him my order and he did say he didn't have all that I wanted but would do his best! Well, I got to the store just after noon and was grateful he had put aside what he had! I paid and set off for my two hour drive home. I got home and opened the bags and there was EXACTLY what I had ordered! I don't know if he found he had more than he thought or baked extra just for me but I was so surprised and pleased! I don't know why anyone would buy their baked goods anywhere else!

The soup was wonderful and thick. I can assure you that this soup didn't come from a can. It was cabbage soup with a few perogies thrown in for good measure. The sandwich was partially my own creation because you choose all the ingredients of it from the bread type to the condiments (I had horse radish, mustard and sauerkraut). There's password protected WiFi to help catch up on the latest stuff on your phone. Inside is tastefully decorated with murals and other things to keep you busy. The washrooms are downstairs so that might be an issue for anyone who is mobility challenged. This is a place where I definitely will return to if I pass through Sundre again. Note that if you prefer a cowboy breakfast of steak and eggs with fried potatoes, this may not be the café for you. For everyone else, enjoy!

Fish was battered, not normally my favourite, but was light and really tasty. Maybe the best sweet potatoes ever and the cauliflower bites are a meal, lightly breaded and tasty, maybe too big to be shared with just two people, most of ours came home. Staff is friendly and attentive. Waitress didn't know the beer list and suggested I "go look", which is fine but there weren't that many to remember. She did, however, bring us a takeaway box without being asked as she noticed the cauliflower bites still lingering on the plate. The lemon glaze had just the perfect amount of tart! Was a difficult decision choosing a doughnut flavour. The iced coffee with English toffee was just perfect for this sunny Alberta morning. All the reviews are correct. It's a must stop coffee shoppe. Easily one of my favourites when I come 'home' to Lacombe.
