Everything is made fresh daily in their kitchen in back. I come here a few times a month, usually for baguettes and whatever else catches my eye! Their chocolate croissants (pain au chocolat if you want to be technical) are so buttery and flaky, just what I'm looking for. My brother usually orders the almond croissant and devours it almost instantly. I do try to call in advance for the baguettes because they're such a hot commodity! Usually she sells out super early in the day and has another batch baking to be ready by mid afternoon. Sometimes I stop in and let her know how many i would like to reserve, and sometimes I'll call ahead. I love that she always makes sure to put them aside so I know they'll be there when I arrive!

At 5 bucks , and the rating this has on Yelp , I expected the croissant at the minimum to be good tasting . Sadly, this was easily one of the worst croissants I've ever had . The almond croissant was very hard to pull apart , not very flaky if at all and the taste was blandish and just not up to even the mid tier standards . If I compared this to any other almond croissant I've had in other bakeries especially those that are French inspired , this would be a complete joke . This is sorta the level you'd find in a Costco multipack .Also, if you're coming here for coffee , the options are very limited to drip and maybe one or two flavor lattes so it's pretty much exclusively a makeshift bakery. The baker who I presume was the owner as well was exceptionally kind and welcoming so something in me wants me to try give it another go with possibly another option.

Their sandwiches like the chicken salad are good but not amazing. I have enjoyed their chocolate chip scones, quiche, and apple turnover. They came out a few times to refresh the baked goods which was nice to see, as other ones often run out of items. Their seating also had outlets which encourages people to sit and stay awhile. It's good to get the app because they offer discounts which can pay off. Their rewards program is earn 75 points (each $1) and get a free pastry or drink so it can take awhile to accumulate if you don't go often (though definitely not a cheap place). And the points expire at some point if you don't use them for awhile. Sunday is a good day to go to avoid crowds since the retail stores were closed. Parking is usually a pain on Saturdays. The Plaza also has a tj maxx, shop rite, cvs, old navy, orange theory, dsw, five below, Michael's, deli, etc.

Which is fine... except somehow, despite there being no one in front of me, I was standing there long enough to wonder if this is how time works in dog years. Now let's talk pastries. I was torn between a scone and a muffin. The muffin won purely on looks, it was giving "pick me." And I'm glad I got it... even though it was dry. Like, Sahara dry. Like it needed chapstick. Crumbly too. BUT plot twist: I didn't hate it. I wanted scone texture with muffin taste, and somehow the universe delivered both in one baked good. Accidental win. The place itself? Nothing wild, nothing gimmicky. Standard pastry case, good seating, chill vibes. But the real star here is how clean everything was and honestly, that matters. If I'm eating crumbs that explode on impact, I at least want to know they came from a spotless counter. Overall: good coffee, decent pastry redemption arc, minimal personality but solid execution. Not life changing, but I'd come back, just maybe with a glass of water... for the muffin.

Yet the county has a rich history in farming and agriculture from the late 1600s up into the 1970s. The small farms in north Jersey do more than just provide fruits and vegetables for our tables. They are open-air classrooms to our agricultural past, places to buy fresh produce and baked goods to support local family farm stores, and places for interesting special events and outings for families. Being the first Saturday after Labor Day, my partner and I got a head start on the apple cider donuts made fresh daily, just oozing with apple cidery goodness and never hot. Since 1973, located on Airmont Avenue in Mahwah, Secor Farms is a reminder of Bergen County's rural past and one of the last farms left in the area, passed down through three generations. Upon arrival in the afternoon, parking was not an issue with only a handful of vehicles. However, the farm comes alive starting Sept 15 with a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and a petting zoo where reservations are required, with all sorts of activities. Their outside garden centers had pumpkins, gourds, fall decorations, and mums for purchase. We went inside their marketplace full of produce and managed to get a bag of mixed apple cider donuts and a quart of apple cider. These baked donuts have the sweet tartness of apple cider with a coating of cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. They were soft, moist, tender, and tastefully delicious. The price was reasonable. The staff was friendly. We can recommend this place.
