So it's a cheese sauce not really a coating of cheese - still miles away from back in the day! But it's ok I guess - And my mom used to like their fish fillets in the cooked deli case

Mostly because its more easily accessible by car (Bedford hwy intersection with HP rd can be a nightmare). There are also many more box stores in the immediate surroundings, so I get more done on a single trip when I come out. Its also super convenient if you work out at the Goodlife fitness around the corner. You can often see a lot of buff bodies roaming the aisles in the store at any given time. The layout is a little weird, but you get used to it. The refrigerators that line the back of the store take some getting used to.. I keep forgetting where to get the yogurt vs cottage cheese and other dairy products. The staff are super nice here, and the shelves seem to be better stocked, especially in produce, than many other grocery stores around. That brings me to my next point in that its usually much quieter than other Sobeys or Superstores. You're unlikely to find long lineups here on even the busiest days.

They increase their prices weekly and take no regard for those who live on fixed incomes. I find it disturbing to see how Gateway Meat Market can accommodate its customers by keeping their prices the same and they are a smaller establishment. Here's Sobeys which has been around for decades and they don't care to accommodate their customers. They also cut back on their employees hours and they are amazing people. This is the only reason I still shop there cause everyone is so nice.

I've shopped there on several occasions and have never had any problem finding anything, except for cosmetics... I was quite disappointed to learn that the store doesn't carry cosmetics. Perhaps this is because there's a large new Shoppers Drug Mart close by, but if the grocery is trying to move towards one stop shopping, they should really consider adding a cosmetics section.

They used to hang by the petrol station but moved when they moved the bus stop. Parasites and harassers. I'm a small woman that has to catch that bus to Bedford and they are always begging for things and eyeballing me. And they pee right there in the lot. What ever happened to law and order and basic civics in Canada? Also, the people in produce have filthy nails with old caked on dirt or something under their nails constantly. Whatever happened to cleanliness? The managers do nothing about this? But then, it's r acist to notice these things now. Tell them to wash their hands more than once a week. Disgusting.

Also just a short jaunt off the 102. I am, however, re-evaluating my choice to pick this branch as my default place to buy food, and have found myself more and more using the larger, newer and better stocked Sobeys at the Larry Uteck exit off the 102. But back to this location, access can be a bit of a nightmare during rush hour since both HP rd and the Beford Hwy can get super backed up, and the surrounding intersections become hazardous to say the least when traffic peaks. The inside of the store seems new and bright, though the layout is a bit more confusing than other Sobeys. This could possibly be due to recent renovations, having to overlay a new layout over old infrastructure. Other than that, the staff are super friendly and seem to enjoy working there, which is always a good sign.

Sometimes they dont have everything I need (Artichokes, why are you never here?) but they come pretty darn close. It can be a bit tricky to finds things sometimes, but if you've ever played a point-and-click game, you can usually deduce where everything is. No basil in the the herb section? Check with the tomatoes up front. Can't find the pancake batter? Check with the syrup, not with baking. It's either a fun brain teaser, or a deeply frustrating exercise, depending on your mood.
