I took my family here on a Friday night around 7 pm. We sat at a folding table kinda awkwardly . Almost like I was camping . The place was full and it was the only open spot to sit . The menu was basics lot of fried items such as fish, chicken , shrimp , onion rings . The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plenty . I ordered the broasted chicken with coleslaw and a salad . The salad was basic but was generous. The chicken arrived and was huge . I ordered 3 pieces . It was cooked well and flavorful. The coleslaw was bland was my only complaint of the meal. The service was good and attentive. She forgot the Togo box but otherwise very nice. BIG disappointment tonight! Food was not good and when the waitress noticed I wasn't eating, asked if I wanted a box or if she should throw away. Stopped in yesterday for a quick cocktail and something to eat. Place was busy but, unfortunately under staffed. Thought we would just have some French fries to make it quicker. Not the case 25 mins later we had fries that were soggy noodles and served on a smoking hot plate. Either went into the microwave or sat under the heat lamp to long. Table next to us asked if there was a cook in the kitchen. Same issues that we had. Not the best outcome. read more

Open! When we stopped in Feb 16, 2023 (Thursday). Service was fantastic. Found out from the bartender that they had just switched ownership. She mentioned that they had a "limited" menu. Well you'll have to trust me, for a limited menu, it was both sides and a wide variety. Hubby had a burger, I had a buffalo chicken wrap. He said it was a good burger and my wrap was perfect. Came with French fries, that were a cross between a normal fry and a steak fry. I liked them and I am not a big French fry person. Location is easy, but deceiving, looks like you are entering an industrial area. Keep going, they're just around the bend. Only about .3 miles off the highway behind a major gas station. We will be back when we are in their neighborhood. read more

i have to update because Tilly's is under new ownership yet again.....and this time I honestly noticed that there was just a little bit more sparkle to the place...so they obviously did a good cleaning and are keeping it tidy. They have fresh breaded mushrooms so we ordered those and they were really good....a little on the salty side but I guess that encourages you to drink more.... I wanted a big ginger drink but again another bar that can't keep some cans of ginger ale....so I settled for coke as a mixer. They do have Stella beer on tap ---and serve it in the right glass.... Glad this place is hanging on and making a go of it.... read more

We ate here twice and enjoyed the food and the service. Broasted chicken was great, onion rings (we shared a half order and that was a lot!) were fabulous and a half pound burger was so good. If we lived near we would be regulars! read more

Chicken wings are great. It's a diverse crown in there which makes for a great atmosphere. Love grabbing a beer and some wings here.

Doesnt look like alot when you are driving by. My brothers and I stopped in for lunch. Everything was amazing, from service to the food. The waitress, who I think was the owner, was fun and quick. I had the cuban with onion rings. Sandwich was fresh and delicious. I upgraded to onion rings and they were just like they should be, nice batter with a big onion and crispy. My brother had the surf and turf which he said was delicious Great place to stop. We will be back. read more

I stopped in for a beer and some chicken wings on a Saturday afternoon. I had the bone in Buffalo wings, I gotta tell you they ranked right up there in comparison to the Anchor Bar and McDuffs in Buffalo, NY. Nice size wings, great sauce and served hot, they were great with celery and Blue cheese dressing. Kudos as well to the great wait staff there!! I will be back!! read more

Andrew M's "hit or miss" comment was spot on. My largest gripe with this place is the inconsistent, dismissive and careless staff (some of them, not all - mainly the young girls). Also, if you're very hungry don't order any sandwiches. They aren't all that cheap, and the cook/staff puts VERY little meats, etc. in them. I complain almost every time I order a sandwich, and only one waitress took my sandwich (Reuben) to have more meats, etc. added. My little kids make heartier sandwiches. No joke. BUT... We love this for some strange reason. The food (especially the fish) is all very tasty, they have off-sale beer/wine/liquor, and the patrons are a good bunch. We also like the atmosphere. We're pretty loyal to Tilly's even with their pansy-like sandwiches, and just order different stuff now. Overall, it's convenient and we enjoy supporting our local mom-and-pops, so to speak, rather than corporate chain restaurants. But Tilly's still needs to get some things right. read more

Good place to buy a 12 pack and get a drink. But not much else. Trust me, the food is terrible. Ordered a $9 burger... Came on chibatta bun with the works which was nice, and the fries were good, but the burger was just a frozen patty from Sam's club. Same burger I get at my kids little league games. It was just sad. I ordered the wings once... Good gawd, don't ever do that. There are a few things that should never be flaccid, a chicken wing is one of them. I ordered the cheese curds once, little pieces cooked to a crisp. The place is always busy, people always eating... One time shoppers for eating I would suspect. I mean if this place could make a real burger, they'd kill it. Trust me... Do not order the food. read more

Tilly's is a seat yourself establishment. The restaurant was busy. The wait staff was there to take our drink order as soon as we sat down. Wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu items. We have been here twice now and very happy with both visits. Our first, was just my Wife and I. Very good food and extremely great service. Atmosphere was very down homey. Our 2nd visit we brought our 2 year old daughter with. They were short staffed this day, but you could not tell. Our waitress, being extremely busy, went above and beyond. My new favorite restaurant in the Rochester area! All I can say is: "Wow!" I stopped at Tilly's recently after a friend gave his recommendation. Being a Friday night, it was definitely a full house...which can only mean good things. And I was not disappointed. As an appetizer, we ordered the Breaded Mushrooms. Many restaurants buy the pre-packaged frozen type that are either overheated, making them soft and mushy or under-heated, leaving them cold in the middle. Not Tilly's. You could tell they used fresh mushrooms and used their own breading. It had the perfect texture, crispiness, and flavors. And that perfect freshly made taste. Just wonderful. Not to mention a great tasting ranch sauce to top it off. For dinner, I ordered the Cuban sandwich. Three types of meat, all of them juicy and bursting with flavor. A taste explosion with every bite. Topped with tomato, cheese, and a couple other tasty items that I can't recall. I think this is my new favorite sandwich in the Rochester area. Tilly's is also known for their award winning Fish Fry. Being Friday night, another family member ordered it. Once again, it did not disappoint. The breading was just right and the fish had a good flavor and texture. I can only think of one other place that might match them. And I've been to a few Friday night Fish Fries. The atmosphere has that nice, warm feeling you might get at home with all the dark woodwork, wood trim, and brick walls inside. It also has a nice, long bar and plenty of TVs to catch any big game. The waitresses were all very nice, fast, and helpful. The only downside I can think of was when we had finished our food and drinks and were ready to leave. About that same time, a wedding party stopped in at the bar to get a few drinks. They were so busy that it seemed most of the wait staff went to help out at the bar and we were waiting at our table for at least 20 minutes to get our check. Eventually, I just walked over to the bartender so I could try to get the check and pay the bill. The waiting at the end, however, won't stop me from coming back real soon. I've tried Tilly's three times now. Every time we've gone, it was with another couple that just love the place and visit all the time. My first visit I had a burger and it could have been in my top 10 burgers of all time. It was great! Second time, hoping for the same experience, ordered a burger again and it may have been the worst I've ever had. Way over cooked and ultra dry. Third visit last nite I tried the beef nachos. Plenty of toppings but the beef tasted like they bought it from Taco Bell and added a bunch of salt so they could call it their own. Also, it wasn't a very large order. Noticed the menu offered a half order and wondered if they made me a half order by mistake but charged me for a full order. If they didn't screw it up and that was a full order, the half should be on the kid's menu it was so small. My wife had a chicken sandwich that she said she really liked but with it she ordered cheese fries, and they forgot the cheese. By the time she pointed it out, the crowd had picked up and there ended up being a bit of a wait to get new. I like the bar's look with it's brick walls and wood floor. They also have a small patio for dining. Just wondering if they should change their name to Hit or Miss because you really don't know how your visit's going to turn out. read more

We tried Tilly's for the first time last night. I ordered the three piece chicken dinner. It was pretty pathetic. It was almost as though they were afraid to give me enough to eat. The three pieces were smallest, smaller, and small. The potato salad that I opted for was good, but again, the portion was small, and the cole slaw was ordinary. There were no rolls or veggies served with the meal. My significant other had a steak sandwich that was ok, but again, it certainly wasn't anything that would cause either of us to want to go back. read more
