I over heard a guy walking in and was selling a handgun that caught my eye. While the gun was in limbo, my buddy asked if we could buy it from the pawn shop. We were told it would be up for sale in about 30 days. The guy, original owner of the gun, asked if I was interested in "looking" at it, he was trying to make a quick sell. I said sure and the pawn shop handed the gun back over to the gun owner, since he was still the legal owner, to let me look at it. The lady, older, curly hair, told us that, "If he (gestures to me) wants to purchase the gun they could void out the agreement since he was still technically the owner of the gun, could go outside and we could make a deal. Just not in the store, thats illegal." I did not know we could do that, I had cash in hand with no loop holes, so We agreed to finish talking outside about the pistol. At that time another young lady brought a paper to finalize the transaction knowing it was going to be voided out. He signed the paper to finalize the transaction which in turn would be voided out. They went to get the owner to void it but he walked up and said "Im going to need both of your IDs to trespass you two for making a illegal deal in my building. I pay for the building and utilities and you two would not have known each other if I wasn't here." We told him that his employees said we could void out the deal and finish talking outside, not to buy but to talk. Both employees got loud and said "That's not what we said at all." Which is a lie. The gun owner said "I come here often, this is a store I love to shop at." Because of this i decided $200 was not worth the trouble. So I shook the gun owners hand and told him not to worry about it and to take his money and be on his way. They gave him his money and my buddy and I decided to continue looking at guns. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked to see other guns they had in the glass case. The curly haired lady called out across the room and asked the owner if it was OK for my buddy to see a gun even though he had nothing to do with the transaction that never happened. My buddy said "i had nothing to do with that." She then said with a smile. "You had it in your hands, touching it." He responded back "I never touched the gun." and I stepped in as well and said "that I was the only one who touched it." We asked to pull up the cameras to see but she handed my buddy a gun to look at anyway. We ultimately decided to leave with this bitter experience. We are owed an apology for how we were talked to by a pawn shop owner in an establishment that had multiple people watching. To the owner, I understand you have a business to run but the way you approached the situation was uncalled for. You lost 2 customers today that had nothing but positive to say about your business. I know you reply because I see you on reviews. Im waiting for my apology for myself, my buddy, and the other gentleman. What a way to treat Military, Law enforcement, and civilians alike. If I could put 0 stars i would have. I don't even talk to Inmates the way you talked to us. This hostility is uncalled for and unwarranted.

Price was much better than any other that I saw online anywhere. Brad even found me two extra magazines, which will really come in handy. I've been to this shop several times: once for a sale they hosted on gunbroker.com, once for a…read moreprivate party transfer, and a 3rd time for a titanium nitride plating job on a barrel. My overall experience in all cases was a positive one. Pricing seems to be extremely competitive (only $65 for TiNi plating of a pistol barrel), and it is extremely obvious that the business cares about the satisfaction of the customers (if only this could be said about most other FFLs out there!). My main point of contact there has been Sam (friendly and professional at all times, without fail), but all the other owners/staff of the shop have been very cool guys to deal with as well. It should be noted that the shop is extremely small, and they have limited inventory (firearms and accessories) on display, but I believe they have quite a few goodies for sale in the back. They appear to specialize primarily in custom work and gunsmithing, but the firearms for sale that they do have on display are all nifty higher-end (e.g. Colt Python) and/or heavily customized pieces (e.g. Benelli M2 with cerakoting, fluted TiNi bolt, etc.). Whether you're looking to add a shade of individuality and flair to your cohetes, or are simply interested in enhancing their practical qualities, you owe it to yourself to make a trip to this shop. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I arrived approximately 30 minutes later and spoke with the same individual, who then stated that the ammunition could not be returned due to liability concerns, despite the fact that the ammunition was unopened and untouched. This was a direct contradiction of what I was told earlier. I would have appreciated being given accurate information from the beginning, as the trip was unnecessary. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced an issue like this with this business, and as a result, I will not be returning.

Effectively, they're saying "please don't buy guns somewhere else and get them sent here - we don't want that business." Lesson learned - I should have checked before I sent my transfer if their price had increased. I get it. They want to sell their own inventory. That makes sense. But the business that will be lost in people who also needed accessories and ammo is likely significant as they decrease traffic into their store: Every time I went in for a transfer o tried to buy something - even if just a bottle of cleaner - to support them. There are too many other options at $25 or less. If you do want to put hands on a gun before you buy and want to buy local, their selection is huge. They just added a room of additional parts and accessories, which also houses their gunsmithing area. Their gunsmithing is still spectacular, especially older or less popular guns, and their cerakoting service is reasonable and really well done. Net net they're a plus to the gun community in a growing part of the Austin area. They're just not the great deal they were before for transfers and the stress of growth is showing, so I'll have fewer reasons to go back.
