However, there are some things that you would want or expect when visiting a cemetery. The plots at Westfield are split into two areas, the "old", which is very old, and the new. The two plots are directly across from each other but split by a road. There is an office but it looked very old and perhaps may not be in current use. Presumably because this is in a very small town, there also isn't an electronic directly to search for plots. So, how to find a grave you haven't visited in ages? Old school and walk around until you find it. Luckily, there was an older gentleman from town who is somewhat the de facto cemetery hobbies and town historian, who was there that day. He graciously showed me the several tombstones that had my family name on them, which is one of the more common names in the US. Thank goodness he was there that day. The cemetery is well tended.

There were so many violations of FTC Funeral Rules which protect consumer rights against amoral individuals, the state had to get involved. The damage done to my heart and soul cannot be undone; there is no re-do. FACT: having a prepaid funeral does not require the family use that facility; you are able to transfer and choose whomever you feel comfortable with. The other Funeral Homes in the area are above reproach; choose a funeral director who has your best interest at heart, not theirs. Please choose wisely don't let this happen to you. Be well. Peace

Driven by this location many time was pretty surprised by the ease of getting in and getting out as the funeral was promptly after the business day concluded. There were ushers helping us park cars as it was a large gathering from in and out of state that was here to bid farewell to a friend and family. The lot was pretty tight yet served us well as I didn't have to fight for a spot and was heading inside. The staircase leading upstairs from the lot that I had parked was beautiful, though we all were dressed in black attire. Two different rooms for seating and the bigger room held the casket and visitors came to pay their respects. A decently sizes funeral home that some had to squeeze by others while there was still areas for groups to congregate. I imagine that a lot of thought and preparation was put into honoring this man and this funeral home did him justice. Cannot speak to the procession the day after to the cemetery as I couldn't attend but I imagine thar it was well organized and handle the business of the Elmwood West Hartford area.

She did an amazing job with both, so when my mother-in-law was placed on hospice in March, we called and asked specifically for her. From start to finish, Nicole began taking care of business and always made herself available, even on her days off. We wanted to place the obituary in the local paper, but it needed to be in quickly. My husbands aunt and I were trying to write it together by collaborating over the phone as we live in different states. We needed to make the deadline by 12:00 pm and we just made it but since we rushed there were many error's that we noticed after. I frantically got ahold of Nicole and without missing a beat she corrected the article right in time for the printed version. We were originally told that they couldn't guarantee an open casket, as we were waiting 2 weeks after she passed to have the funeral so that my son could come home on military leave for it. But Nicole made it happen. She even touched up my mother in laws regrowth, and colored her brown roots to blond. The services went very smoothly and Nicole organized the whole event with ease. Our family and friends were very pleased with the results. I realize that writing a review for a funeral director is not as glamorized as a review for a vacation, but it is something that all of us will have to face someday for not only ourselves but the loved ones on our life. I had a negative experience when we buried my father in law, with another funeral company. I can only say that this experience is etched in my memory that even exceeds the loss of my father in law. Having a kind, patient, caring, thoughtful person taking care of everything after your loved one has passed makes the experience much more bareable. Nicole has done this for us in all that she does and we will for ever be grateful.

The young man from the funeral home who directed our loved one's service played the piano and sang like a pro--he was gracious, empathetic, and quietly dignified. They took extra care to find a preacher from my relative's country to lead the services--that was such a thoughtful touch. Please move away from money grubbing funeral homes like the one in Canarsie that everyone goes to -- they don't care about you nor your family member. Harmony proves that you can provide an important service to your community without emotionally nor financially blackmailing families to pay for unnecessary costs.
