    Box Kite Barn Yard

I had the best time picking out a piece of wood at Box Kite Barn Yard to become our new fireplace…read moremantel. The price was reasonable, saving me at least $200 compared to ordering one from Wayfair, and I ended up with the exact color I wanted, a greyish driftwood color. (I had them clean, sand, and stain the wood.) Ken was super helpful and patient with all my questions. The yard is fascinating---so much to look at. I highly recommend a trip to Box Kite Barn Yard!

Box Kite is a treasure chest of old wood ready for a new life. I'd walked past the place for years…read moreseeing their sheds built from recycled wood and thinking they looked cool. I'd even seen some of their timber used in the adjacent Bang The Drum brewery bar garden. But it wasn't until I wanted to build a pergola to support a new Wisteria plant that I actually went in and looked around. You'll need some imagination and a rough sketch of what you want to make so one of their carpenters can show you around and help you find what you need. Everywhere are big heaps of neatly stacked timbers from barns or wineries or old buildings. If you want something old and with character this is the place to look. I found some rough logs still with bark attached, some old fir boards from the days when 2"x4" meant real measurements and some rough thinner logs to go on top of my structure. I received lots of help with refining my design and tips on how to join it all together. They even offered to build it on site for me so I could see it all fitted and then to deliver it so I could build it at home. I chose to do my own experimenting (as its cheaper that way) but they do deliver so that saved my trying to balance it in a regular car. I've seen furniture they build in the yard: gorgeous stuff made from old wine oak flavor sticks which has color and character and a good smell. Go for a wander around and you may find the components for your next project or some fresh inspiration. I want to start birdboxes next...

Susanne has a wonderful sense of style with color and materials, so I would refer her to be the "Stylist of Tile & Stone." Her recommendations were right on target for our kitchen. Our countertops are CambriaUSA, family owned and American-made. I love my countertops! Not only beautiful to look at but nice to use and easy to maintain.

My husband and I received a recommendation for Pacific Shore Stones from our installer and we are so happy he did! We had been to numerous places and left them all feeling even more overwhelmed but when we walked into this showroom, it was a completely different experience. We were greeted and taken care of immediately. They had plenty to look at in the yard and even more samples in the showroom. The options were endless and it made finding the perfect quartz countertop so easy for us. We were almost in shock when we left there feeling like we had accomplished what we came there for. It seemed like something that was so out of reach but Pacific Shores Stones made it a reality for us. Our countertops turned out amazing and we are very grateful. Thank you!
