San Luis Carpet Cleaning enthusiastically accepted the job, sent Rodrigo to clean about 20 pieces for only $150. I was very amazed by the results.....for the very dirty pieces, I was sure I'd have to live w/ some residue but Rodrigo kept going over the stains until they were invisible. Feel like I rec'd great customer service and great results from this company!

4 months ago a water line to my washer broke and caused a flood to the downstairs of my house. This…read moreincluded 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, laundry area and hallway. I found David Ibarra after putting in a search for flood mitigations. Him and his wife arrived quickly but the entire time he was here, he was on the phone while his wife did all the work with the water suction machine. She was very careless with my belongings and broke two stained glass windows and left the wood frame on the wet rug to hide the damage, I guess she thought the frame would swell up and hide the damaged glass, she also left a $4,000 silk throw rug rolled up in the closet where it got wet & damaged. David's response was to say just charge your insurance company. He then proceeded to put as many fans in my house and garage as he could, of course these fans and dehumidifiers tripped my circuit breakers and he needed to return several times. When he found out that my insurance company did not pay for more than 5 days of fans he cornered me in my garage and said I would be paying the rest. He said "I'm not in the business of giving money away, I'm in business to make money." That's a quote! He threatened to put me in a collection agency or take me to court all the while pointing his finger at my face. I told him to go ahead and try! When workers started to show up to tear up walls, most did not speak English. They would leave after 3-4 hours of work without saying adios, with my garage door wide open and doors unlocked. After they tore out the plumbing in the bathroom I discovered they had cut the pipe to my water softener. If my water softener had been set to run that night, I would have had an even worse flood. This was incompetence at its finest. Luckily I bypassed the water softener. Then he said I had mold in my garage, he'd spoken to his mold expert. No mold expert ever showed up at my house and this mold issue was never addressed in the final estimate he gave, I did not have him do the repairs. He showed up at my house unannounced with workers assuming I would use him for the repair work. It hadn't even been approved by my insurance company. So basically what I'm saying is this man and his family may be hard workers but they're only working to make money from your insurance company, he damaged woodwork in my house, damaged objects that were precious to me, and was rude to a 70 year old woman on a fixed income. I'm so thankful I did not have him do my repairs. He wanted to charge extra for everything the insurance didn't cover. So if you have a flood, don't panic like I did and take the first mitigator, or the second, because he called twice. Second time was a different company name called San Luis Environmental. Turn the water off and call your insurance agent. When my insurance company investigated his work and took a month to pay him he sent almost daily letters demanding money with horrible misspelling. He never even sent his flood mitigation report for a month and that was the first thing my insurance demanded. Maybe this company is good at cleaning carpet but they know nothing about flood mitigation. My plumber said it's rare to have mold in this area unless water has been leaking a long time. My leak only lasted 30 minutes. But they kept coming in with moisture testers. I bought my own and it didn't show moisture as high as their's only slight dampness that would dry with the fans. He charged over $6,500 for fans and dehumidifiers. My house was dusty, dirty, and over heated the entire time the fans ran plus I had a $500 PG&E bill. One thing I'd like to add was even when the water removal was done, my carpets were still soaking wet and I got even more water out with my wet/dry shop vac. So long story short, do not use San Luis Carpet or San Luis Environmental unless you don't mind wasting your insurance companies money and have plenty of your own to waste.

Steam Tech - This was the large area rug that was one of my 3 main priorities, that later he claimed was "a freebie" to avoid any responsibility

Unfortunately, this is one of those "If I could leave zero stars, I would" situations. I'm dealing…read morewith a severe injury and in bed most of the time, so I will often limp to the kitchen make some food and then bring it back to bed and eat in bed, so over time there have been spills on my carpet that I just couldn't deal with anymore and I ended up having an available day where I could have them done and I really wanted to get it done right away, so I went on Yelp to get a quote and unfortunately when you do that, Yelp splinters out your 1nrequest (intended for 1 company) to EVERY company in that category, so you get bombed by responses. Kirk from Steam Tech was part of that blast of text responses and said he could come the next day. I was happy about that, but that should have been my first clue that he didn't already have something booked, because all the other companies could not do it on such short notice. I asked him to do just the walkways/exposed areas in my bedroom which came out to be about 80 square feet since the whole bedroom is a 168 square feet and it was only about half the room that wasn't covered by large furniture, an 8 x 8 area rug, and a 9 x 11 area rug. He quoted me $180. When he arrived, I asked him if he could also do a very small (3 x 4 feet) area rug, right inside my front door, a small ottoman (about 2x4 feet), and just the end of the couch (not any cushions which I removed the covers of and washed in my washer) but just the armrest of the couch. He said he could do it all for $200 total. I also had asked if he could do a second fabric ottoman In my living room which he said he would do as part of my ad-ons for an extra $20 and he never did, but I didn't realize until after he left. Everything seemed to go fine, except for when he left the largest area rug (which was part of the initial quote and one of the 3 main priorities for me) had ripples all throughout it. I asked about it and he said "If you vacuum it, it will smooth them out". Well, I have vacuumed several times over the last 8 days since the service and they won't come out! I'm recovering from a triple-fractured ankle and am very limited in my mobility and shuffle around the house with a cane, so every step is scary and dangerous even on flat ground with no extra trip hazards. I messaged him today (8 days after the service) and told him that the bumps in the carpet are making me trip and almost falling and hurting myself even more. His response was "You just need to stretch each corner out the way it was". What??? If vacuuming it is not going to pull them out, I don't think I can just pull them out like the hulk with my own arm strength. It is dried and frozen with those ripples, so it has been stretched out and it won't smooth back to the original flat (and safe) area rug. THEN he said " That was actually a freebie so a refund would not be needed". WHATTT???? That was actually the largest surface area that I needed to have done and was part of the original quote! Also, he claimed to have extra strong suction equipment that would remove most of the moisture and dry quickly, but it took over a day! I couldn't move back small furniture that I had moved out of the way to reach the carpets for cleaning (which again was dangerous for me to have to limp around that those items that were in the walkways of rooms) while I was waiting for everything to dry for LITERALLY 24 hours. So the whole "freebie" claim is bogus since that was literally one of the 3vmain areas that I had messaged him about in order to get the quote and it was one of the main reasons I wanted to get my carpets cleaned. Very shady and unprofessional! It definitely was a red flag when I paid and the charge from my bank was from 'Drain Point', so it seems like maybe he was a plumber who probably wasn't making enough money doing that (which doesn't surprise me given his business practices) and now is trying to clean carpets instead, or maybe doing both at the same time, which again is a red flag if thats the case! Now it makes sense why he had NO REVIEWS on Yelp. There was another great company that actually couldn't fit me in for weeks called Steam Pro, and I had so many people responding to me that I got it mixed up and when Kirk texted me I got it confused with Steam Pro because I was getting blasted with so many messages from all the different providers and since Kirk had no reviews for Steam Tech, it wasn't even on my radar - and now I know why! I will attach the pictures of the damaged area rug I had done, and also include the screenshots from our text stream today. BIG REGRET using somebody with No reviews on Yelp who was available for a next day carpet cleaning, and now I see why.
