I ordered laminate floor in July and didn't need to pick up until January. They were good about keeping it for us. When we picked it up the color wasn't the same as the sample we ordered from, so I was disappointed. DO NOT USE Tile Outlet/Flooring Avenue for Cambria counters. We have had weeks of delay in our project at this point due to the terrible management of our counter top installation for 3 vanities. The Good: They did a new tile floor and a new kitchen backsplash for us. Those went in with no problems, and look great. The BAD: We are now waiting on simple paperwork to be sent over to Cambria so we can get an installation scheduled. Our measurements were taken 3 weeks ago and Cambria can't even start processing our order because the folks at Tile Outlet keep slow rolling the process of getting the drawings sent back and forth for approval and final purchase order. We've been without 3 bathroom countertops (and therefore sinks) for almost a month now. We anticipated some production/installation lag after measurements, but this is just poor service and slow action by the team there - delaying our project by weeks. Every contact with the shop is an apology but not an action to move us forward. The owner went out on vacation (without mentioning it AND without sending our order to Cambria), and apparently no one that's actually in the office is able to handle our paperwork and get things passed on. Beyond frustrated and will not work with this shop again. UPDATE (12/15/22): Project has been finished for a bit. Emailed about follow-up work AND because one of the workers accidentally grabbed a roll of painting paper from our house and it was never returned. It's been 10 days with no response (and no out of office message). Dropping from 2 stars to 1 star because this just reminded me how frustrating this whole thing was. Terribly frustrating experience. I will say the people are very nice, however we have had multiple experiences where quite simply, it's been a waste of our time. We are in the process of a bathroom remodel and have called in to pick up either the schluter system parts, grout, or all set a few different times. On three or more occasions we were called and told that a product was ready for us to pick up and "on hold", and then when we went in the next day for pick up were told it is no longer in stock. We even spoke to the owner on trying to rush order a shower system, confirmed we were able to get it in (which we were appreciative of) and then given a call when it was ready for pick up. When we went in the next day for pick up they no longer had all of the system parts that we specifically worked with the owner to get. This also happened with needing grout that we ordered the specific color since they were out of it. We received a call when it was ready for pickup, and then once again they did not have the product when we went in the next day. I get this happening once, maybe twice, but it had happened a few times that has caused us frustration and time. I would say their resolution time was great as two different occasions we had workers acknowledge the issue and then have to drop product off at our house due to the inconvenience (Cody and Micah). However, these are all preventable instances that cause unnecessary stress, delay of our timeline in completing the remodel, and wasted time. I'd generally say some hiccups here and there are not abnormal but there seems to be a major opportunity with bridging the gap of over promising and under delivering. Whether that be overpromising on the front end to customers that a product is available, or on the back end of the back operations not being in line or up to date with what is in stock. I went to tile Ave yesterday after have a horrible experience with my bathroom and needing to do a full remodel. They were so kind and so patient with me. They were super knowledgeable on their products, they pulled multiple tiles for me, helped me with color, and brought the excitement I had back to the project. I am so happy with the tile we have picked out, I am so happy with my experience, and I will be referring EVERYONE to them. This is a great family ran business, and one worth supporting ! Horrible company to work with. The competence and communication is terrible. The whole process is anything but smooth. Endless amounts of "I'm sorry" and "we apologize", but yet they don't change anything. They don't follow up or follow through when trying to set up projects. The sales department seems like they don't want to sell anything to anyone. I like no pressure, but this was like we were bothering them for wanting to do business with them. I wish I would have read the reviews before I decided to do a project with Flooring Avenue. I have the same complaints as most everyone else. I don't see how this company will have any repeat customers. Which, is unfortunate because we have more projects, but we will NOT do business with Flooring Avenue again. read more

Customer service was horrible. We were interrupted multiple times by other employees asking questions and owner never said "please wait and let me finish with these customers first". We were not acknowledged and needed to ask for help. Then we were given an employee who could not answer our questions. Took over an hour to get a price on one slab. Selection was non existent. Two experiences, same rating....1 star Experience #1 - Ordered tile with a very specific "need by date" - Owner said it wouldn't be a problem and they'd call us with specifics in the next couple of days. We never received a call - We called them, they play dumb and after two calls state that the manufacturer is now delayed in shipping. - The tile didn't show up on time and I had to wait 3 months for our contractor to have another available window. In the mean time we ordered the exact same tile from another supplier. Tile etc. offered us a $100 in store credit which I used toward grout and caulk. Experience #2 - Picked up grout and caulk as recommended for metal tile from Tile etc. - After install there are scratches all over the tile - I read the grout bag and it says not to be used on metal/painted tile - I call Mark at Tile etc. he promises to help find a fix over the weekend, just like experience #1, no call back - I finally get an email blaming the installer - Mark has yet to offer any other help accept to again, blame the installer I now have the installer blaming the grout and tile combination and the Tile etc owner blaming the installer. I don't want anything accept some advice on how to fix the tile! read more

Terrible experience with getting countertops. I was told when we purchased the countertops that it would take 3-5days to get the cabinets measured and the 7 days after that for install. I called on 11/1 and said I was ready to get measured. They couldn't get anyone out to measure until 11/8 (7 days). 11/8 came and nobody showed and no call. I called in and received a bunch of sorry's. A second date was set up to get measured and again no call no show. I called in again and this time talked to Mark the owner and again received a bunch of sorry's. The third date was to get measured and they showed 15 minutes prior to their 4 hour window ending. Next step, the install date was set for 12/7 from 10am-2pm. @pm come and goes to show no call. I called and texted Mark and didn't get a response until 6pm. Mark stated the install crew was running behind and would still get there. They showed at 8pm. So what was communicated as basically a two week process from ready to measure call to install took five weeks. read more

I think how a retailer reacts to issues and the related customers is often a true representation of what's important to them. When things were going well with this retailer, I was requesting quotes or making a purchase, the sales people were friendly and responded in a timely manner. I didn't experience the same when there were issues. I made multiple purchases and multiple shipments were delayed and I never received a phone call that they would be late. The sales person purchased too much tile (I have almost 2 full boxes left) and flooring (I have 2 ¼ full boxes left). When we ordered the floor heating, it was not only delayed, but not big enough and the electrician had been rescheduled multiple times so I had to order overnight via another vendor. When I contacted Colleen, the manager, and she said that they would not allow me to return the unopened product because they were special orders, even though it was their salespeople who made the mistakes. She put the blame on me and the contractor, e.g., the drawings must have changed or the contractor provided the wrong measurements. The drawings never changed and the correct measurements were always provided, but there were multiple people working on an order, which is why the incorrect size of floor heating was ordered. I explained that I have over $500 of unopened product so Colleen said she would look into the details and call me back. I have called her twice since then and left messages and she still hasn't called me back. That was a month ago. I am very understanding with delays given the current environment we are in, but this is disappointing. read more

I would not recommend this tile shop. I purchased over $ 2500 of tile and supplies at this store. one of their associates figured out how much tile I would need for my shower and bathroom floor. She over estimated, saying not to worry I could return it. When I tried to return it, they would only give me in store credit . I tried to push for cash back, but they said I need to pay my coupon back. I am trying to warn you that if you pay them cash, you will not get it back. read more

I would strongly suggest not using Tile Outlet, Etc for your flooring purchase. The customer service was horrible and there is no follow through or communication with the customer once the purchase is made. I ordered over $4,000 worth of flooring and told them the exact day I needed it delivered. They didn't inform me that all the product would not be delivered until the day of delivery and I had the installer starting 3 days later. The install date was negotiated with Tile Outlet, Etc. staff a month in advance. When I tried to call I would get nothing, but the run around and it was everyone else's fault except theirs. They missed the delivery date on some of the product by 2 1/2 weeks and their solution was to just have my installer come back on his own time and our dime. The lack of customer relations is by far the worst I have ever dealt with on any purchase - especially one of this high of a dollar amount. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing because it appears that others have had the same experience as me. Shop elsewhere. read more

Avoid this store! When I shopped there a year ago they were great. But I had to buy some additional tile for the project recently and it's been one bad experience after another. Their return policy is horrible, the staff is no longer knowledgeable (one gave me bad information about sealing) and I can't say they are terribly courteous either. An employee called me to tell me my order was in from her personal cell phone, then when I re-dialed the number to ask a question thinking I was calling the store she was very short with me. Maybe don't use your cell phone to make business calls if you don't want the risk of someone calling back? Oh and by the way, the extra tile I'm now stuck with because of their no returns policy is $3 a sq ft cheaper at Home Depot (beware if it's something you can't take home with you that day it's a 'special order' that can't be returned even though I bought it in the store before). If I had purchased this same tile from Home Depot at least I'd have saved money and had some options on returning the extra... read more

I would seriously consider placing this store at the bottom of your list when considering where to shop for tile. Instead, spend your time and money at a store where your business is valued. This store does offer a great selection of tile. Unfortunately this is where the "great" stops. The service and accuracy on the fulfillment of our order was horrible. We traveled 50 miles to purchase tile from the store for our kitchen. It found the tile we liked, purchased it, and they loaded the tile for us. A few days later we set up to have the tile installed. It was at this point we discovered 75% of the tile we received was incorrect. We contacted the store and were told to bring it back and they would exchange the tile for correct tile. We were not provided one apology during the phone conversation. We made a second trip to the store a few weeks later and they exchanged the tile and assured us it was correct. Again we set up to have the tile installed. And again we discovered the tile we received was incorrect. The contacted the store again the following day. The gentleman we talked to did apologize this time and offered to have us come done and they would exchange the time again and this time we will open the boxes to be sure. We again made the 100 mile round trip. After arriving at the store we were told they did not have the tile we purchased, and it would take 2-3 weeks to get it. After receiving the call, we made one final trip to pick up the tile. There willingness to make this right was pathetic. The lady who we spoke to, who was one of the owners, was more worried about ensuring they still made a profit on the deal. In the end, after driving a total of 300 miles and wasting 6 hours in the car we were offered a refund less then what we spent in fuel trying to fix their mistake. read more
