With so many other tile shops in the area, it's shocking the lack of customer appreciation at this place. They really act as if they are doing you a favor. I loved working with Vicky when she worked there. She was well trained in measuring, and most of all knew her inventory. I'm a designer so I'm not easy to find wonderful tiles but tile America had a great selection in a certain price range. read more

They are the worst, do not shop here. The sales person flat out lied to me about the returnability of my tiles, and encouraged me to "over order" to be sure I'd have enough. I ended up with 4 boxes too many, only to discover they were NOT returnable. In addition, although I paid 100% upfront, when my contractor went to pick them up, they tried to scam him out of another $100, claiming I hadn't paid in full. Their sales people are liars, their manager is useless, and they will do anything they can to overcharge you, go somewhere else. Update: I'm adding a couple of stars, as the company / manager stepped up, and took my overage tiles back, with the usual restocking fee. The tiles themselves are very nice, and I appreciate they reached out to resolve my issues. read more

I cannot day enough about the service, professionalism and quality of Tile America. I came there after visiting several other tile stores with a lot of frustration. I met Theresa that works at the Danbury store and immediately she came up to me with her years of experience and her kindness not to mention understanding my frustration. She helped me pick out different tiles that would worked and understood the look that I was going for. I came back a few times changing my mind and she was so great about it and just really understood and was truly amazing. I've come back several times since to do other rooms in my house and never hesitated she would take the great care of me. Professional, creative, intuitive, with an innate sense of style... describes my sales consultant Sandy at Tile America. How difficult it must be on a day to day basis, over and again, giving clients advise on decor and tile patterns....while each individual is of course looking for something that is uniquely their own! The thing that most impressed me about about Sandy was how she not only shared her own personal ideas, but actually paid attention to my style choices. After short conversation she was able to get a good read on what my style was. A quick to the stock room, to recover something that wasn't even on the showroom floor, she put together a design that was so uniquely mine! I was so excited, that I almost forgot to care about the cost.... but Sandy kept me in my comfort zone. I am SO very happy with my projects end result, but more so enjoyed my experience with a friendly professional like Sandy, and the quality tile from Tile America! Thanks! Beautiful showroom, but terrible customer service and customer retention policies. I came in looking for a specific tile, found a small 6"x6" sample in the showroom that matched what I wanted (not a very big sample size to see much variation, so it looked ok!). I ordered what I needed and was surprised I would be paying for shipping from the warehouse to the store. The Tile Shop, New England Tile in Fairfield, and Universal Tile in Newtown didn't charge for the other tile lots we've purchased so, I don't believe this is standard. Then it took a month to get it- I guess that's not unusual, but Tile Shop has more inventory and a better distribution chain, so availability was much much faster. Picked it up and my contractor agreed it was not going to work- poor quality and consistency. I called Tile America before I drove down to return it, and the initial response was that I would be paying a crazy restocking fee and the RETURN shipping for the product that looked nothing like the floor sample. After prolonged back and forth and photos of the defects, TA was willing to "work with me" and refund what amounted to 30% of what I paid. The shipping to and from the store was literally the same cost as the tile. While I was getting my measly return in the store, another customer came in trying to return supplies without his original receipt. He had no luck either- you have 30 days. Good luck getting any bath or kitchen done in that amount of time! Long a story short, we've renovated 3 bathrooms and 2 kitchens- this is by far the worst company we have encountered. Literally would buy marble online with Amazon (which by the way had a tremendous and easy return policy!) before I would go here again. read more

We just built a house with 5 bathrooms and a 500 sq. ft. kitchen. We purchased all the tile at Tile America in Brookfield working with Vicki Bonomo. She was incredibly talented, a real professional and very patient with us. It was a 2-year project and they exhibited patience throughout the entire project. Some of the rooms were quite complex and she and her manager, Chris, were extremely helpful ensuring we had the right installation information so we were completely satisfied. Our bathrooms and kitchen are simply magnificent thanks in large part to Vicki and Tile America! I would recommend them 1000% without any hesitation or reservation. They provided excellent service, excellent communication, and were simply wonderful to work with. I just wish every supplier was as good as they were!! read more

I needed to replace the tile in a 21 year old shower, but the rest of the tile in the bathroom was fine. Needless to say, that brand/color/style of tile was not available any longer. I needed to find something that would match the existing tile and pattern. Tile America had a huge selection, and Terri P was very helpful in finding a good match, actually a good contrasting color. The ordering was easy, Terri kept me apprised of the order status, and she was very attentive throughout the whole process. I found a couple of great styles and colors, and they also helped me connect with a fantastic installer. The shower looks great, and many thanks to TA for their part in the project. read more

I must amend a negative review I gave re: Tile America. Actually the problem had nothing to do with Tile America, but with the person who installed the tiles. I have to commend the General manager - Chris Rowan - for helping my daughter. As soon as he heard about the issues my daughter had with the tile installation, Chris Rowan called my daughter and asked "How can I make this right" Even though this wasn't his responsibility -- he took it upon himself to try to reach a solution that was beneficial to everyone - especially my daughter. Customer Service here is excellent and they definitely want to please their customers. Thank You Tile America. I would definitely recommend your store to anyone. read more

I started a small project at my home. I ran out of caulk mid-project on a Sunday. I was disappointed to see that Tile America isn't open on a Sunday. This was extremely inconvenient. I looked online at the weekday hours, and instead went back during the week to pick up what I needed. I raced out of work to get there before it closed, to find out that the (new) hours noted on their front door were different than what was posted online. So the store had closed about 3 minutes prior to me arriving. I thought this was extremely unprofessional, to have hours posted on the website (which most people refer to nowadays), different than what's posted on the actual place of business. I called and left a message, suggesting they update their website. It has been a week since then, and they have yet to do so. I returned on a Saturday, around 1:15 pm. Every employee was servicing a customer. It took about 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me (even though I was in plain view). Finally, someone told me that an employee should "free up" soon. It seemed that all the customers that were currently being helped were needing "long-term" assistance, whereas I, only needing caulk, would probably be in and out in 5 minutes time. I waited another 10 minutes, and had to finally leave because I had somewhere to be. What I had thought would be a quick "in and out" purchase, ended up never happening. It's going on the 2nd week that this project hasn't been completed. It was very disappointing to see that not one employee had the business-sense, or customer service knowledge, to ask their current customer if they minded if they helped a customer make quick purchase, and return to them immediately. Needless to say, I will not be going back. There are other places to go, that I'm sure have more professionalism and better customer service. read more
