I think they're closed already (Tila's) but here's my review of their chilaquiles.
Chilaquiles rellenos definitely piqued my interest, I don't think I've seen any other place with them down here. I ordered them with the chicharrón en salsa verde...they also had other fillings to choose from. I wish I had chosen another filling. The main thing I tasted was the masa...the filling didn't stand out. The masa was nicely toasted and fried...it wasn't too thick and was still fluffy..but I love my chilaquiles with plenty of salsa, and this one left me wanting juuusst a little more salsa.
My wife had the regular chilaquiles....they were tasty. The fried chicharrón on her plate was spot on! The sides (eggs, beans, potatoes) felt par for the course.
Did the chilaquiles rellenos shine? I'll just say there's another chilaquiles place on that same block that still stands king IMO.
If I did have one gripe...their menu had no prices listed.
How do you give clients menus but don't put prices? Are we to guess? How do we know we are being properly charged? Put prices folks! It's a turn-off IMO.
Between my wife and I...with just simple drinks came out to a little over $40. read more
