This is a hidden gem inside the grand ave food kitchens. First, their starters - we got the pepper chicken tikka - it is peppery but so moist and flavorful. Their chicken biryani is the best I've eaten outside India! And I've tried pretty much every other place in Portland. It almost beats the best biryanis in the Bay Area. It is authentic and really flavorful. I've only had it once, but I expect they're consistent. Get the medium spicy for the true experience. Service is quick, they're good on timing, the pickup area is neat and cozy, and the food is amazing. I'm going to be back to try other dishes soon. read more

Was unpleasantly surprised to see this was a DoorDash hub/dystopian robot spot. There was no human interaction. When ordering the screen forces you to tip 20% and I accidentally tipped that and there was no way to redact that. The samosas were super spicy! Tikkalicious serves a very authentic and tasty paneer tikka masala, one of my favorites which says something because I'm usually really picky with it Their gobhi Manchurian is also delightful, light and flavorful. Spice for both was on a slightly milder side which I think works well. The garlic naan was well made too. They gave a generous quantity of rice and honestly, you could eat that by itself it was that good - their seasoned it perfectly It is a ghost kitchen but they have a few spots to sit down. This review is a bit complicated as I wish I have a chance to try more of their food but, I just don't trust it to go back again. I order Mekhani/Butter (Lamb) to take home and eat when I was craving Indian food. I don't know why I switched it up from chicken to lamb but, that's not the main issue of my review. Butter chicken is NOT a spicy dish, it's not supposed to be spicy at all. I picked mild and it came out much spicier than any other Butter dish I've had in the US. Flavor seems decent but, it was too spicy for me to eat so there's that. Given that I ordered a not spicy dish specifically it's a bit disappointing to get it spicy. read more

This place is a welcome addition to the Indian food offerings in Portland. I've been looking for a good hariyali chicken and dal makhani here and finally found both here. The cilantro chicken tikka here comes closest to what I was craving. I also tried their original tikka which was also great. Somehow the portion between the two varied notably (pic). For curries I tried saag chana, dal makhani, and fish korma. All were great and flavorful. I was only disappointed that the fish was salmon instead of halibut as per the menu. Would note also that medium spice is decently spicy. I don't particularly like ordering from third party apps and had a little trouble figuring out where to pick up the food so I hope they open a proper restaurant in the future. What a surprise! 11pm Vegetable Korma in PDX. It's one of my biggest complaints here... After 8 pm it's difficult to find open restaurants. I was happy to find Grand Ave Food- while my Korma was being prepared, I started craving Bubble Tea... There's a Korean restaurant, JD Brothers, within this location serving Boba! I also ordered Samosas. All the food was fresh and tasty. I will surely return to try other dishes. Wish they had my fav, Malai Kofta. I spoke to the owner and he said he would be adding dishes in time. The cashew cream in the Korma was rich and delicious. It was a little hot for my taste so it let's me know to ask for mild next time. There's only a couple Indian restaurants here and I'm grateful to include Tikkalicious in the PDX selection. read more

Seems very authentic, but I got a MILD vindaloo and it is so spicy that I cannot even eat it! WTF! This is not "mild"! My spice tolerance is low right now as I haven't been eating too much spice recently, but I do not consider myself to be a wimp when it comes to spicy food! This is ridiculous. Wow! Tikkalicious always impresses me with this delicious food and great portion size! I got the Old Fashioned Tandoori Chicken and Garlic Naan for my first order, both were amazingly flavorful and reminded me of when I used to order this as a kid. Portland visit dropping off a college kid. Needed some Indian food- boy did we come to the right place! Bianca greeted us and explained the back kitchens and how the 'food pod' worked. We chose Tikkalicious- it was amazing. Whatever you order get the naan! We had butter chicken and it was incredible. We sat outside and watched the parade of take out. Bianca came out and checked on us and it was just nice to have that personal touch. We then met the chef who had an amazing history of world wide jobs. He was the nicest guy and makes fantastic food. Make sure you order the food ahead of time on the website and go pick up -- there's no indoor dining option on site, though there is seating outside. Original Tandoori chicken 4.8/5 Half chicken. Delicious seasonings. A little dry, but it's never not dry so I think it's normal. Really well done! Goat curry - 5/5 Yummy! So much flavor. Medium spicy was perfect amount of spicy for us; bordering too spicy but not crossing the fence. All the flavor without being a greasy mess. Chicken saag - 5/5 Deliciously creamy. Definite spinach but is there cilantro in there? Something made it extra tasty. Never appreciated saag as much before this dish. Overall, really really delicious, flavorful Indian food in a sea of mediocre Indian food that's often too greasy, too salty, etc etc. We will definite be back to try more dishes! read more

The Gulab Jamun is the yummiest dessert I've ever had, that perfect potion of sweetness is very hard to get. The Vegetarian Biryani has the perfect aroma and the flavors won't leave your palette soon. The Gobi Manchuriya is a MUST try!!! Do not miss their smooth and soft Naan with Paneer Makhani. We've tried a ton of Indian restaurants and everyone would rave about a spot on Division and we'd pay a lot of money for 1 chicken thighs chopped up in a small container of sauce. Yes yes sauces are great but when you take a small piece of naan, halve it and call that 2...come on. Not the case here. While a touch pricey (initially) I feel the portions were good. I have generally always had great experiences At Tikkilicious but today it was not as stellar. I know the spice level is always a bit more intense than the other places I order Indian from so today I decided to get mild instead of my normal medium in my saag Chana but it as spicy or even spicier than before, it also was incredibly oily, really not the high quality I've always gotten in the past. I really could only eat 1/4 of it before I just had to give up. I imagine this is just a one off, but I hope the bit of feedback is helpful! read more

What a wonderful addition to the Indian food scene in P-town. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and the Tikkalicious wings. OMG, both were great. I ordered spicy on the Vindaloo and was not disappointed. A really good spice profile with its of depth of flavor spot on. The wings were fantastic as well. The portions were generous for both dishes. I will definitely be going back for more. My husband and I really love Indian food and while most of the restaurants near our home are good, they're not great. Last night we decided to check out Tikkalicious. All of the dishes we ordered were medium spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice (we like spicy that you can feel but that doesn't knock your socks off). Also, the portions we're very generous. A little bit about the restaurant, this is a ghost kitchen that provides takeout or delivery service only. If you go into Grand Ave Food Co., you can order on their touch screen and wait for your food (credit card only). Or, just order ahead on your phone, it's so much easier. Please order directly from the restaurant and pick it up if you can. That puts more money into the pockets of these small businesses. How good was it? Absolutely amazing on both service and food. It's a little food pick up place, which we didn't know going into it. We almost turned around but decided to stay and WOW are we glad we did! Came here with a friend and was craving Indian food. This place is new and already off to a great start! We had gobi Manchurian, paneer tikka masala (can't come here and not order a tikka dish!), chicken makhani, garlic and plain naan, and an order of rice. Also got to try their mango lassi! All dishes were show stoppers! Started off with the gobi and couldn't stop devouring this mouth watering dish. Next up was the paneer tikka masala. Anyone who knows tikka knows how it is supposed to be made. Most restaurants take the easy/quick way and just pan heat the paneer, which can end up rubbery in texture. Here, the paneer has the distinct markings of a tikka done right AND it was super soft, almost melt in your mouth soft! The chicken makhani was also drool worthy and none of the dishes lacked in any way. If anything, the chef went above and beyond with these dishes. To finish off, we rounded off our palettes with the mango lassi which was creamy, and the mango flavor was very present, which also isn't common at other places! Wow! Did I just find my new favorite Indian spot in all of Portland? My answer is heck yes I did!!! Started w the tikkalicious wings and they did not disappoint at all. So flavorful throughout the whole wing. Will definitely be ordering again and again and again. Also ordered the chicken tikka and an order of garlic naan. Chicken tikka was absolutely delicious. A little pricey but well worth it given the quality and quantity. Would still and will be ordering again very soon. Now to the naan bread. I don't know what he does or how he does it but it is by far the best garlic naan I've ever had! Holy sh-Nikes. So friggin good!
