I stopped here for a quick dinner snack. The first thing I noticed was that the place was quite loud, and that made it harder for the cashier to take my order and name. I ordered the chip with salsa. The chips were warm and had a good amount of salt (I like them salty, so no complaints), but the salsa did not have flavor. Fortunately, they have free spicy sauces in the restaurant. One of the worst experiences at this location! Ordered pickup and spent a few dollars shy of 50 bucks for my husband and I. I ordered the fish tacos and he ordered the chicken tacos. My tacos were literally thrown into the box, soaking wet cold fish, soaking wet tortillas and no sauce on tacos. Absolutely disgusting and no care at all from whoever prepared it and packed it. We have been to many Tijuana Flats. Disappointed in this location in Winter Haven. We ordered the garlic lime steak bowl, burrito with steak, kids chicken fingers, and a side of the dueling quesos. My kids chicken fingers did not come with apple sauce and two or three chips with her meal. My wife had the steak bowl. She felt it was spicy to be spicy, not for flavor. Rice was bland (boiled down, no flavor). Size of the portion was decent. Good amount of steak. Overall, so so My steak burrito was good. Jalapeños add a punch. Dueling quesos were good. Orange is more of a Tex mex and white is more of an original queso. I prefer the white queso. We had burnt chips. Yes, you read this correctly. Burnt chips. At least 10-12 in our bag. Not impressed Not impressed with the customer service. No one acknowledged us when we came in. We decided to get our sauces first. Was impressed with the Togo sauce containers. Our family of five stopped in for a lighter dinner after a day of travel. We were pleasantly surprised by the tasty food and the excellent service (shout out to Melissa!). That's not a word I usually use but that's the word my cashier used when she told me how great my experience was going to be! It just feels like this is a place to have a good time. Food- Standard Tex Mex fare with no real surprises. You can get your tacos just about any way you want. I ordered a Beef Taco Duo with hard shells for less than $8. I was hungry, so I added an extra taco for $3. This was a giant mistake because they asked me if I was a first timer. If you say yes, this triggers a huge free tray of warm tortilla chips and chunky salsa. That's a nice touch! Adult Libations- A bunch of beers in draft and bottle. Sauce Bar- So my food was out very quickly and during my very short wait I was eying the Sauce Bar. It looked amazing. It was spotlessly clean, had a vast variety and was very well organized and signed. The sauces start with the milds on the left and as you move right that is where death resides. As I had three tacos a filled three little cups, and each was perfect for one taco. I have news for you. If you want blood coming out of your orifices, try the sauce on the far right. Trust me, I know these things! So my tacos were great and very fresh. I enjoyed everyone. The last one caused my orifices to leak a bit, but the staff was great at cleaning everything up! We ordered lunch from this store today, on a whim. Sadly, we probably won't be doing it again for awhile. I ordered the 2 hard steak tacos meal with black beans and yellow rice... and my guy ordered the mega wet spicy beef chimichanga with a wheat tortilla. He loved his and said he'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to try something new and delicious. Mine however was kinda gross.... half of the lettuce was rotten, the diced tomatoes were rotted, the steak was dry and bland, the black beans were bland, and the yellow rice was bland and undercooked. The only good thing in my meal was the hard taco shells, which were crisp. There were also some tortilla chips scattered all around the plate, but there was no salsa or anything to go with them. Why were they even on my plate then??? They had no purpose, and no business being on my plate. Needless to say, my $15. meal was money wasted, as far as I am concerned. This is one of the worst Tijuana locations I have ever been to. The food was below the standards that I expect at Tijuana. The meat and rice was dry. The chips were stale. The absolute worst part about the restaurant is the smell. The place has a strong smell of sulfur. I've been there twice and the smell was still there so I'm sad to say it wasn't a fluke. I don't know if they have bad water or standing water they need to take care of but either way it's very unappetizing. So I know Tijuana Flats is glorified fast food, but I really enjoy it and my dad loves it so every time we are in Winter Haven, he wants to come here. This location in in Winter Haven on Cypress Gardens Blvd, near LEGOLAND. My dad loves the chimichanga with chicken. You can order your burrito or chimichanga "wet" with enchilada sauce, salsa verde, or queso. My dad likes his with queso. You can make it a meal with rice, beans, and a drink, which is what my dad always does. He is a fan of the ice here. They got the good ice, which means small crushed ice. I like the tacos and enchiladas. You can get two tacos with chips for about $6.50 depending on the meat you choose for your taco. I enjoy the ground beef and the chicken. The tacos come with your choice of meat, and cheese, plus lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and jalapeno. You can leave off anything you don't want. My mom doesn't like the jalapeno. I suggest getting a small queso to go with your chips. I really enjoy the flavor of the queso, though sometimes it is a bit on the thin side. My parents like the salsa, but it is too chunky for me. I also really enjoy the enchiladas here and that is what I ordered last time. The portions here are pretty large. The tacos and enchiladas come in a set of two. I usually eat one and take the other home. On Tuesdays they have Taco Tuesday where you can get two tacos, with chips and a drink for $5.50. They also have a throwback Thursday special for burritos. ICE COLD Mexican Beer for $2!!! Arrived just in time for Happy Hour (5PM). I am a creature of habit - Taco Salad with steak, everything on it and Avocado Ranch. One of the best parts of this salad is the whole wheat tortilla/edible bowl it comes. My kids branched out and had the kids meal with a chicken burrito - they reported it delicious and much better than Moe's - LOL! Everyone was friendly - would have been 4 stars except they forgot our dressings and the tortilla bowls seemed like they were starting to get stale. This is my first terrible review. I am praying we don't get food poisoning. If we had not been so tried we would not have eaten here. The restaurant smells TERRIBLE like there is a sewage problem. The bathroom smells like the restaurant...the drinks from the fountain were terrible. Queso also very poor quality. The salsa TERRIBLY bland. Mexican isn't complicated so to make Mexican as awful as they have managed to is really sad. Unless you are desperate don't eat here. Health department should investigate the smell.
