Service was excellent food was good prices were ok. Food came out hot and fast served our party amazingly. Nice place kinda loud but not bad. Everything we order came out perfect.
This restaurant is very beautiful, very expensive and very bland. The food tasted okay. Not much flavor, not much spice, needed salt. I asked for salt and pepper but didn't get it. The salsa tasted plain. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. It was just alright. I probably wouldn't go back.
Happy hour at Azteca did not disappoint! I came for the 2-for-1 margaritas and was so pleased with how much variety was offered--frozen or on the rocks, and a range of flavors without any upcharge. Bonus: they let you choose salt, sugar, or tajín for the rim (yes, please!), which sets them apart from other spots. I ordered the club quesadillas and they were sooo delicious--cheesy, flavorful, and filling. My cousin tried the taco trio--pork, chicken, and steak--which came with a generous side of rice and beans. The kids' menu is stacked too! We grabbed the chicken fingers for the little one, and even that came with rice. There was even a photographer going around snapping pics--you get a complimentary postcard and can buy additional prints if you'd like. Cute touch! The ambiance is vibrant and inviting, with colorful artwork everywhere. It gives the whole space a fun, festive energy. With wonderful service as the sherry on top, I'd definitely come back!
The ambiance is really nice. Beautiful decor and comfortable tables. The food was wonderful. Service was superb. I highly recommend this restaurant for drinks, couples, families, and groups.
Great add to the Winter Garden Area What Had a drink a 2 appetizers with a friend here. We got the table side chips which for the guac it was good. They have additional add of bacon or/and cheese which I skipped on. a little bummed they didn't ask how spicy I want it, but the guac was good. I also did the ceviche, with mixed of shrimp and octopus. It was good but I think it got fishy really quick. There is complimentary chips! And they came a warm, which was tasty! I am disappointed that the second bowl of chips I got was more crumbly.. like the bottom of the batch.. The drink was also decent Environment Really really nicely decorated. There is plenty of parking outside, never need to worry about parking. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff, though sometimes not as attentive, not sure if she was busy or just that we took too long to look over the menu and decide. Dollar It was decently priced. Yes I would go here again, it is a nice add for the winter garden area
This place was recommended by a friend , but reality it wasn't that good , sure some plates look so great but I try the azteca soup and was totally no good flavor , service was ok but don't expect top notch service as they look like they are on a hurry , then prices were a little high , expect about $20 + per plate , event the appetizers are high end price , but place is nice inside , also the drinks here you looking at $15 + , so an ok place but nothing to continue coming for several times
The service was quick! Everyone's food looked delicious. The portions were massive and I took half of my dinner home. I ordered the Club Quesadilla and it was stuffed full! The restaurant was quiet enough that you could converse with your friends. I would definitely come back if I were in the area again.
Food Pros: Chimichanga was awesome. I had it with ground beef. I appreciate them allowing ground beef as the filling. Some Mexican restaurants only allow shredded beef because they don't like to deal with the ground beef possibly falling out. The bread in the chimi was chef's kiss! Chorizo & queso dip was good. Guac is made fresh & delicious. Food Cons: super expensive. Shredded chicken was tough & chewy. Birria meat was chewy. Wayyyy too much mayo in elote off the cob. Service: Excellent service. Our server Gemma was awesome. Ambiance: Nice
Second time is a charm! We have eaten here once before when they first open and my husband avoided this place like the plague. Our neighbor wanted to take us out for dinner and they love this place. Free food my husband sucked it up and agree to going back here. I got the homemade Guacamole it was delicious. The fish taco was really good. I like the fact that the plantains were an options. The food portion was plentiful and we had left over. The services were really good and the place was super clean. My husband found his meal enjoyable.
I was pleasantly surprised when I entered because the inside is way nicer than the outside. I had not looked up reviews so I did not know what to expect. Service was really friendly and the inside was clean and nicely decorated. Good happy hour specials. We got the 2 for 1 sangria which was delicious. The food was great as well. The side beans and rice were alright but the main dishes were great, so not a biggie. I liked their salsa as well. Perfect amount of spice. Will be back.
If you're looking for great Mexican food, and fantastic margaritas.. don't stop here! Stopped in with my parents during a visit to the area, and we really just wanted some fun yummy margaritas! This place looked like it would be it! Boy were we wrong! We were "greeted" by a stern faced hostess who we thanked for getting us a booth really quickly, after we declined sitting at the bar we were prepared to wait a bit... not sure why we were directed to the bar of there were tables available but we went with it. Stern Sally never smiled or said another word. No matter we were greeted by a lovely server named Alondra, she was the one pleasant experience of our visit. Every piece of bad news was delivered or accepted with a smile. Let's start with the drinks order. We ordered and my dad's Tanqueray and Tonic was something else and club soda, they didn't have two of the drinks on the special drink menu actually on the menu anymore (like they're not even in the pod system anymore) so not sure what the point of giving us that menu (thanks again Stern Sally!). No other spicy margarita option was offered so I stuck to water while and stepmom had a house margarita (she didn't finish it). Moving on to the food... we ordered chicken fajitas and ground beef nachos. Dry. Just dry dry dry. Definitely a miss, would we try it again? As of right now, I can't say we would.
Ambiance is great. We called to check if we needed reservations (we didn't) and if there was a wait (there wasn't). We were immediately seated when we arrived. Service was slow to bring my drink, which was mostly ice... ask for light ice, learn from my mistake. Food was delicious. All of the servers seemed miserable and that was my reason for taking a star off. Everyone who worked there were in bad moods. It was unprofessional. We ordered the ceviche traditional (mixed) which is octopus and shrimp but it was mostly onion, tomatoes, and cucumber with little shrimp/octopus so that was disappointing. I ordered the taco salad which was really good and came in this buttery, crusty shell which was yummy to eat afterwards. In all, we left full and happy.

Probably 3 1/2 stars so I'll round up to four. We ended up getting the exact same meal we got last time because we liked it so well, the only difference is my husband felt like his meat in his tacos was overcooked. He did not like it as much as last time. The other suggestion I have for myself is to get flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. I got the Carne Asada, which I thought was cooked well but the corn tortillas were not my favorite. I tried them since I didn't love the flour tortillas last time, but now I think I should switch back to the flour. My older son got just fries, but he also loves the queso so definitely get the queso every time. I like the rice and I'll definitely continue to come eat here because it is so convenient from LEGOLAND. I just need to remind myself that next time my husband might want to try a different dish, but that one of us should continue to get the Carne Asada because it is quite good. read more
Everything was phenomenal. Good, customer service, decor and cleanliness. A big fan of this place. My youngest and I ordered the following: Kids Mexi-bites: she rated 9/10 Burrito Blanco: 10/10 added steak and guacamole, incredible flavor on all ingredients and sauce. read more
The Azteca D'Oro Winter Haven location is definitely unique in its own right, having several advantages due to its locale. For starters, the Azteca D'Oro is a localized franchise with the majority of its restaurants in the Central Florida region, with currently 2 other restaurants in Wesley Chapel and Brandon, respectively. Returning to the focus of the review, the Azteca D'Oro in Winter Haven was extremely convenient for us as a last-minute, unplanned dinner after a long day at Legoland. Located on the northbound side of Cypress Gardens Boulevard, Azteca D'Oro is less than a quarter mile as you leave and exit Legoland Way. We came on a Saturday night, around 7pm, arriving to an essentially packed parking lot which was promising. Despite the packed venue, we were promptly seated at a booth which was nice. We found the restaurant to be very chique - there was a brilliant fusion of Mexican culture in the color and ornaments in the decor with the very modern restaurant ambiance. Meanwhile, the background maintained a festive chatter to compliment the ambiance. I must admit that the food left a lot to be desired - the ceviche came with cooked shrimp, rather than allowing the raw shrimp/seafood to be denatured by the citric acid of the lime juice, and although the Parrillada plater was filling, the spice and flavor of Mexican cuisine did not appear all there. However, the service was outstanding - couldn't have asked for a more attentive wait/serving staff. The entire staff was enthusiastic to serve - you simply have to admire this (I hope they keep this energy!) After the meal, the grand finale was on display outside. Although it is not correlated with the services provided by Azteca D'Oro, the restaurant does offer a great view of the fireworks and drone show occuring in Legoland around 8-8:30pm after the sun sets. This is definitely visible from the parking spaces in front of the restaurant, and potential viewable from the restaurant in those seats located in the front section. Azteca D'Oro seems like a very reliable Mexican restaurant if you're looking for something easy and hassle free. Their menu is diverse yet pinpointed enough to offer a nice range of choices to selection from. I would say if you're in town, especially if you've come from Legoland, stop into Azteca D'Oro for a meal. read more

Nice looking restaurant decoration, super friendly server she was very nice and patience with my twins, she recommended drinks and dishes and the food was good as well as the drinks! The place looks clean and the waiting time was not terrible for being a Saturday evening. I just wish my flautas were not that crispy I was expecting them to be a little bit soft, but no big deal. read more

This place is so beautiful in the inside, loved the atmosphere. Their was a little wait when we walked in, buy the waitress was great! The food was amazing, my husband got the beef fajitas, the protein portion was a little shy for the price, so he ordered another beef skirt to fill him up. I had the 7 Mares Soup, I loved it. The variety of seafood it had mixed with the vegetables was perfection. My son ordered the chicken tenders, he enjoyed them. Definitely will be back! read more
Tried out the Chicken Macho Burrito with La Crema Sauce for an early dinner. I was craving a burrito and wanted to try out the burrito here. This entree DO NOT come with sides of rice and beans. You just get the huge burrito itself. The burrito is huge it pretty much covers the whole serving plate. The burrito consists of the chicken I chose as my protein, rice and beans with lettuce and tomatoes. It is then smothered with my favorite la crema sauce cheese sprinkles. The burrito is delicious. The chicken is seasoned well and the sauce is just so yummy. I just wished they stuffed more lettuce and tomatoes inside. So I notice today that the server stood by me when she gave me the handheld kiosk to pay my bill where she can see the tip amount. I dislike when servers do this to customers. They tend to do this when they hand you the handheld kiosk. So awkward. Other than that - The food here is delicious. FYI weekdays Mon-Thurs the crowd is not that bad here. read more
Azteca Mexican Restaurant is an excellent Traditional Mexican Restaurant that reminds me of high end restaurants in Mexico City. Everything is done professionally from the crispy taco shells that are used to hold refried beans and sauces to the Top Shelf Tequilas that are available with Traditional Margaritas like Tamarind. We've eaten here many times for date night or entertaining our aging parents for lunch. They have great lunch and dinner menus with a reduction in prices for the lunch menu. There is nothing I have eaten here that I did not like from the Pollo Asado al Carbon, Fish Tacos, Chili Rejeno, Osso Bucco, Enchiladas and Fajitas. The service is excellent with mostly mexican staff. The restaurant is beautiful, filled with beautiful Mexican art and light fixtures. The dinner prices are somewhat expensive and reflect the quality of the food. For lower prices, try eating here for lunch. We have made the restaurant a place where we must eat every couple of weeks. If you like high end traditional mexican food, this is your place. read more

We came back to this amazing restaurant on the same trip because we really enjoyed the food and we had the pleasure to having the service of Daniel again (the best) and we tried some new dishes also delicious! This time we gave the guacamole a second try and Mrs Flor made it table-side for us with lots of love and it was AMAZING! read more

Wow! My family and I had just left Legoland for the day, and the vote was for Mexican. I always like trying places I've never been before, and am I glad I did. We sat down at a beautiful booth in a clean environment. The ambiance was beautiful. Our server, Daniel D, came by promptly, asking for drink orders. My mom got the 2 for 1 margaritas (great price) and my husband got 2 for 1 beer. I was driving so I asked for a non-alcoholic drink, and he recommended the mojito. It was seriously the best non-alcoholic drink I've ever had. The food was delicious. I got a chimicanga and enchilada duo, which I shared with my mom. My husband ordered the tacos de birria. My 8 year old received a child size burrito. Everything was the perfect temperature, the food was plentiful, and the service was outstanding! I wish this place was near me in Port Charlotte. It would be a huge success! Highly recommend! read more

We had a great experience at Azteca de Oro in Winter Haven and it's my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Orlando area. They have multiple locations and their food is delish. We visited on Mother's Day without a reservation and they sat our party of 9 very quickly. Their table side guacamole is a must! It's prepared right in front of you and you're able to customize and add as much or as little with each ingredient. You can omit any as well. I could have eaten the whole bowl by myself with a spoon...it was that good. Everyone at our table got something different and there were no complaints. The food was hot, portions were large, and dishes were delicious. Most everyone at the table took leftovers to go. I had the rice with shrimp and I enjoyed it and would have it again. The flavors were just right and it was packed full of shrimp. read more

We have been going to Legoland for quite some time and have never been to this gem before. Let me just say hands down incredible birria tacos and the watermelon margaritas just are phenomenal. So happy with the food and service. Margaritas came out first for the parents and kids food promptly came out afterwards which I greatly appreciate. Food was so flavorful and would love to go back again. Highly recommend this location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great experience! read more

Three stars for a very cute restaurant! The Decour inside was very fresh and bright! Love all the paintings on the wall, they have an amazing bar area as well. They bring out chips and salsa pretty much right away which is wonderful. The chips are nice and fresh and the salsa is fresh as well. Unfortunately, the server that we had was very sweet, but the service was very slow. We did not get our silverware until after we received our food. We also had to download the menu by installing the Q are reader on our phones. It would've been nice to have had paper menus as we did see some other people with some. The food portion was extremely large, but the food did not really have flavor. I was very surprised for a Mexican restaurant to not have food that had a lot of flavor. I got the chicken flautas and although they tasted bland, the sour cream and the cheese on top of it seemed very dry, almost like it was sitting there waiting to be picked up for a while. The burrito had no cheese inside and the rice was very white and over packed. The hubs enjoyed his fajitas, but that may have been because he asked for extra salsa to put inside. Overall, this restaurant is very adorable and they do pay attention to cleanliness. Maybe we just chose poorly, but the churros were the star of the show! Will definitely visit again and get some thing else if we are in the area. read more
