First, the service was excellent. However, this is just a walk up and order place. So service is only limited to the counter. But out person was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the tamales and the three taco plate. The tamales were very good, like what you would expect if your mom made them. Nothing fancy, but good quality ingredients . The tacos were those small street tacos. They were fine just not a ton of flavor. If I didn't know we ordered chicken I would not have known what was in the taco. The atmosphere is awesome though. This place is part of the larger Bowden Yard which has several other restaurants all connected, (think permanent food trucks with eating space.) but it's very family friendly and you can eat in the courtyard allowing your more picky people to get what they want somewhere else. Absolutely loved the vibe of this spot. Way open with a couple different options for food. We got there super early because the website said it opened at 10am. We were the first in line and lucky for us it was taco Tuesday which offered 6 tacos your choice of meat (asada, chicken or pork) for 5 dollars!!! The person taking the order was efficient and answered the few questions we had. The meal itself was filling and tasty. The guacamole was decent, a little over priced for a tiny ramekin at 2.99, but overall tasted fresh. The salsa that came with the tacos was flavorful but mild, no kick. I love Mexican food and I've gone to The Lakehouse Kitchen multiple times; by myself, with my boyfriend, with a friend, and with my mom. I'm usually impressed because the food is consistently delicious, but this last trip with my mom (and one trip with my boyfriend) were really lackluster. The menu very clearly states "Taco Plates - with rice and beans" and "Antojitos - with rice and beans." About 98% of the times I've ordered, I have gotten rice and beans on the side, which is exactly what the menu says. I usually order the same thing every time, so I know how it's supposed to come. But on my most recent visit with my mom, I ordered a chimichanga and she ordered a birria burrito. Both are under sections that say "with rice and beans," yet we didn't get them. I went inside and asked the waitress, and she told me, "Oh, well that just means they're inside the food." I immediately pointed out that I have eaten here before and received rice and beans as sides with the exact same orders, so yes, they do come with rice and beans as sides. I literally grabbed the menu, pointed it out to her, explained how a menu works, and only then did she decide to bring us our side of rice and beans. Even then, it was just one small container for the two of us to share, even though we both had meals that were supposed to include them individually. Instead of just acknowledging the mistake, she tried to convince me they had never been served that way. That felt dismissive and gaslighting. I'm not an idiot I can read and I understand how menus work and I can read. "With rice and beans" means sides. Period. In total we spent about $50+ on two entrées, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth, not from the food (which is great), but from how the situation was handled. And honestly, what does rice and beans really cost the restaurant? Pennies on the dollar? Maybe 30¢ to $1 max. Skimping on something so inexpensive, while charging premium prices, feels especially frustrating. So we were like the only people there at that time so it's not like they had a huge crowd and magically forgot. The food here is delicious, and I've often left impressed, but until they fix the inconsistency and stop trying to explain away what the menu clearly says, I can't recommend it without reservations. read more

We went up to Winter Haven to watch Warner University Men's. Basketball Team my son is a Coach for them . He suggested we go down town, he said it's quaint and there's a good taco place he and his fiancee found there . So we walk up to this nice small restaurant inside a corridor surrounded by other businesses and a local bar. I look at the menu and there is a great selection of different dishes , actually I was very surprised but the menu. There were so many items that looked great I just asked the woman ringing up the order which one she liked the best . She tells me the Birra Beef Tacos , and boy oh boy I was not disappointed they were fantastic. We ordered a large bowl of guacamole it didn't come with chips but she gave us chips with the order . My son and my wife both had the taco plate and they loved them as well . The food was served hot , and presentation was great . Although there were a couple tables inside we went outside and sat at one of several tables on a nice seating area with overhead shades to keep the sun off you but still very inviting. They do not sell beer but suggested we go next door and they had everything we wanted . Which we did and got three draft beers to wash it all down with . All in all a great experience, I definitely will return and hopefully try something else, but. I don't know those Birra beef tacos may just win again they will be hard to pass up . We ordered the Family Taco Box from The Lake House Kitchen, and it was seriously impressive. There was a ton of food--plenty of flavorful meat, fresh toppings, and even chips with queso. Cashier is rude AF (must be the owner to treat people like she does) She was sitting down with the owner when we walked in so idk.. Today they had a .75 taco special. Refused an elderly white lady who mentioned the special but wasn't able to provide social media post because she's too old to use Facebook. So she left with nothing. We came from 2 1/2 hours away to go to the Peppa Pig theme park and we ended up finding this food truck by chance and thank God we did because we have two 5-year-olds that are picky eaters and let me tell you they absolutely loved it and so did myself and my husband we would definitely come here again! Super good EVERYTHING! My husband had the Birria noodles, he also had six Birria tacos because they are definitely super small tacos and then I ordered six of their Birria tacos as well, we ordered a plate with Mexican rice and got an Asada for one of the kid and the other one got a cheese and chicken quesadilla which was super good and they absolutely loved everything No pics because we tore it up lol read more

We drove up on my friend's boat and it was only about $51 for six of us and we ordered a lot of food. The elote were bogo, and there was a special for tacos for buy 5, get two free. Very disappointed with my first and only experience with The Lake House Kitchen. We placed an order online and paid, when we arrived they stated they don't take online orders and prepared our order 20 minutes late without apologizing. Website menu shows that our $18 meal was supposed to come with a consommé and beans and rice. None of the sides were included and when we called to see if we could get a partial refund we were told that the online menu is wrong and they wouldn't do anything to amend it. The journey your tastebuds go on, from the first bite to the last, is one everyone strives to experience when dining out. Not only is their food outstanding, but their customer service is excellent. For example, during Hurricane Milton, they were there for this community. When all of us were at home readying our homes for the storm, the staff remained at work to ensure everyone had access to a hot meal. When all of us were sitting without power, worrying about storm damage and cleaning up, the staff served our community with hot meals. This is going over and beyond in so many ways. I will be a forever client of this establishment due to their high-quality food and how they care about the communities they serve. We recently bought a home less than two miles from one of their locations. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I eat here five days a week, sometimes more. We volunteer at Bartow Middle School 3-4 days a week. What do the teachers and staff ask us to get when there? The lake house. It isn't obvious or easy to find. Located on the lakefront directly behind the motorcycle shop. Come by car or even by boat. Tacos, burritos, tamales. Mine was hot, fresh and tasty.
