This is a 2.5 star review. However, since Yelp doesn't offer 1/2 star ratings and because the order taker / cashier was so nice, I opted to round up rather than round down my review (SEE below for explanation). The first thing that caught my eye as I walked in on this Wednesday at approx. 4:15PM was how dirty the floors and majority of their tables were. I had to wipe down our table and walk into the restroom to throw out the napkins I used to clean as waste baskets for the patrons are not utilized. This is simply inexcusable. Come on now, there are 2 tables in the entire dining room being used. Where's the pride? Where or who is the manager? How about employees...? Additionally, been here several times and do recall it being fresher and tastier than my visit today. Ordered a Chicken Bowl and a Dos Tacos order with a Cookie Dough dessert for my son. The tacos and dessert were "ok" but my bowl was just gross. The chopped tomatoes were overly ripe and the water / juice they were sitting in drenched the entire bowl. I'm disgusted and annoyed and I've changed my mind. After reliving my experience writing this review, I've decided to round down my review to 2 stars. Sorry, wish it wasn't so. read more

I would give them 10 stars if I could. The only place I've eaten at that I've NEVER had to deal with rude or poor service. I found out about this restaurant almost 2 years ago through my mom and I've been going here (almost) every Tuesday for the chicken tacos! That's literally all i get from here since I stopped eating beef and pork. I've tried a few of the other menu items like the shrimp tacos, their bowls, burritos, and quesadillas but nothing compares in my opinion. I will say the bowl portions are pretty small even when you order double-- or at least at this location it is. But anyway, the staff are amazing! Theyre all so polite. I don't even write reviews but I saw a lot of first timers complaining here and I had to let whoever it concerns know that I've had nothing but great experiences here :). They're finally expanding on their proteins. They finally have Fish Tacos which is my favorite kind of Tacos. The Manager at the Indian Trace location is very friendly and professional. Taco Tuesday is the best deal around, my kids love it so that's always a win. We visited this restaurant Feb.18,2023. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Maddy. We had never eaten at this restaurant and Maddy was quick to give us options and/or suggest options. Maddy was friendly and so very helpful. The food option we purchased was absolutely delicious and all of the special sauces made it even more yummy and fun too!! This chain has wonderful tex-mex food. That being said, I bet you are probably wondering why I gave them such a low rating. It is because 9 out of 10 times they mess up our order. While the staff do bend over backwards in their service recovery efforts by eventually bringing you what you actually ordered, it is always a very frustrating experience. Issue 1: This is likely the root of the problem, the ordering process is too complicated. The staff first request a name for the order, then they ask you for your main item (taco, quesidilla, burrito), they ask you if you want a flour or whole wheat tortilla, then about each individual topping (lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, onion and jalapeño). Finally they ask you for whether you want rice and beans and a drink. For my family of 4, you need to repeat this process 4 times. Then they ask you if you want any salsa or queso, sure why not, they are terrific. The receipt/ticket for the order is printed and is usually the length of an arm. This ticket is then printed in the kitchen. Solution 1: As the majority of the errors are caused during the ordering process, I recommend that you remove the human element. Specifically, the staff taking the order. Alternatively, consider using tablets or ordering kiosks where the customers can enter the order themselves and clearly customized their order to their liking. Those staff members can be used to assist with using the tablets or kiosks. Issue 2: The food comes out out of order (meals come out before salsa and queso) and the orders are wrong (i.e. cheese quesidilla comes out with chicken, tacos missing sour cream, unexpected lettuce shows up in kids taco...). To top it off, when they fail to bring out the salsa and queso, the staff say that you did not order it. Now every time I go I request an itemized receipt and show the staff exactly what I ordered. They then return with the excuse that the items printed off on a separate receipt in the kitchen and it somehow got seperared. Solution 2: Hire a food expeditor to assure that the orders go out correctly. Honestly, we love their food, but this place frusrates our family so much that we prefer to go to Tacobell. I hope that this corporation considers making some improvements. read more

First time at this location. My coworkers go here every Tuesday for their Taco Tuesdays. I got there just before 12 to avoid the so call rush there usually is on this day. The line was a decent one when I got there but it was moving very quickly. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food came out quickly. Almost missed my order because they were pronouncing my name wrong and we thought it was someone else. Food was very fresh and tasty. Chicken meat in tacos was a bit undercooked for me. Not just another Taco Bell. Tijuana flats takes it up another notch. Not quit a sit down joint, not really fast food, but kinda something in between. Yes you walk in and are immediately greeted by a polite young lady who hands you a menu and explains the days deals. You then walk to the register and order your meal. :You go have a seat and your meal is then brought out to you. The staff then treats you as if you are at a sit down restaurant by bringing you more condiments, refilling your drinks and making sure that you are completely satisfied. Very nice, I found this a very pleasing approach toward customer service. As for the food it was very tasty. From the tacos to the nachos to the salads everything was fresh, nicely plated and good portions. All for a very reasonable price. If Hot Sauces are your thing this place has got a great selction. Tried to do right by helping a small business out during these hard times. Unfortunately, some companies should just go out of business and that would be Tijuana Flats. I experienced not only the worst service ordering take out but the food was disgusting! Seriously, I had to explain to my son why his hard tacos were soggy and why my soft wraps were wet as a diaper. Its not that difficult to make a taco but Tijuana Flats was able to mess that up and earn a solid 1 star rating today. I placed order online, pick up time was 1/2 hour later. When I arrived they were backed and I waited 1/2 inside the restaurant with 15 other people. Thank god everyone was wearing masks. Ugh.. This Tijuana Flats was OK. They're pretty much the same as all the others. The food was good, service was fast. But .... their sauce bar was lacking severely. All but 3 sauces had only the same level of spice. There was only one extremely spicy, and two with the blank face. The thing I enjoy most about this chain is the diversity of sauces. Because they only had one really spicy one, it wasn't my favorite. Maybe people don't like spice as much in this neighborhood, so they don't use a lot of it? This location has gone downhill big time compared to what it once was. It's like kids are running the place now and it's just not the same. Service is slow. No longer customer friendly. I use to know everyone by name and multiple people greeted you as you walked in. Now there isn't even someone at the counter when you walk in. The insulated cups are a thing of the past. There is usually a pretty long line on Tuesday's during lunch time 12pm-2pm. They never get my order wrong and usually bring it out in orderly time. Great casual, drop in spot for really flavorful fare. My husband and I ate dinner for about $20! The food is very tasty and nicely seasoned. And as you can see by the photos, plates are very generously portioned! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Saw several families with children really having fun...kids dig the murals! Just a word of caution, Moms and Dads, wee ones exit the restrooms and pass the hot sauce bar and tonight I spied two little girls mistaking the sauce dispensers for soap dispensers! Haven't been to Tijuana Flats in quite awhile due to the pandemic. Decided to go a couple nites ago. WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. First of all the Enchiladas had been taken off the menu. Almost left, should have. Decided to order the Beef Burrito with chips and guacamole on the side with a draft beer. Problems: (1) - Had to ask Supervisor to draw the beer. Young lady at the cash register only managed a cup full of foam. (2) - Burrito arrived and was luke-warm/cool in various locations and had very little beef compared to other ingredients. (3) - Chips tasted like chips from a bag at Publix. -- A very disappointing experience. -- I will not return. Taco Bell serves a better Burrito and you can count on it being hot, and a lot cheaper.. I ate there once when they first opened. Thought the food was average and never went back. As I was leaving the parking lot last weekend though, I saw a girl kick a duck outside near their tables. I'm sure they can be a nuisance, but there are better ways to handle it. When I called to speak to a manager I described the girl to the person on the phone who then told me she was in fact the manager (Ariel). Was here for lunch today. I go often, as it's close to my office. Wasn't planning on writing a review, but I was kind of stunned by all the negative reviews about the staff and the order screw-ups. I'm not sure how that's possible. A. I've never had a misstep on my order. B. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. C. After you order, they repeat to you what you order. Then when they bring you your food, they again confirm your order. Which makes me think if there's a miscommunication, it probably means it's on the customer. Good, fresh, food. Good pricing. Okay! So, I came in with a friend (my first time) and I wasn't in the mood for mexicsn so we ordered her food to go (she loves it here) and just we were about to pay I saw a dessert menu! Pick up is always backed up and your order is never done at the eta they talk you. I was given a 15-20 min eta and online also showed 21 min to pick up. I show up and I've been waiting already an additional 25 min. Putting me already at 45 min. Unfortunately the staff that shows their face look like all high school students that you can tell is not their fault while no manager or anyone puts their face out their to apologize. 2nd time 1st review My lunch experience the 1st time I was here was great. Everything was great, food was fresh and came out hot ,staff was awesome. I was absolutely satisfied .. 2nd time was for dinner with the whole family. Not the same results. Had the Dos tacos hard they were cold the lettuce was even colder like it just came out the fridge the cheese the same making my Dos tacos carnitas more of a leftover salad I just pulled out of the frigge. My wife had the same with the soft tacos also the same results. Had a gentlemen with a black shirt walk by and asked if he can warm the meals up... As per his response it was impossible ,he took the food walked into the kitchen warmed up the top of the tacos . For a very shot amount of time dropped them off and waked away.
