Update November 2018
Came here for an afternoon treat with my sons. Much better than its predecessor, Jaspa's.
We did not sample the food, but other diners looked happy. We had a banana smoothie and a chocolate milkshake. Both were hits with the boys, the only fault being that the smoothie was still a bit icy.
I had a sugarless mojito: tart and refreshing.
Good to see environmentally straws in use.
Disappointing.
We used to go to Jaspa's frequently when we lived in Sai Kung. Family friendly, simple reliable food, great service. Their junk is also a great venue. When looking to feed and entertain our young family, you couldn't beat Jaspa's.
We visited the DBN Jaspa's on Easter Monday. The plaza was full of families: Easter holiday, and the start of the school Spring holidays.
Jaspa's? All tables full, and every table a family with kids.
"Where's the kids' menu?", I asked. "Kids' menu? Sorry, no kids' menu this weekend. It will be back from tomorrow... ". And no option to buy smaller size serves off the menu.
I am not sure what thinking applied here, whether they were out to discourage family diners, or to force families to buy adult size dishes. Whatever the explanation, this was not the family friendly place we knew and loved. I hope that the prevalence of families at their tables might have sent the restaurant management a subtle reminder! read more
