Review in a nutshell: Oh my heavenly goodness! Why would you go anywhere else?!
Alright, rewind a year and a half ago to when I had this excruciating pain in my left leg and hip. I'm talking "can't-walk-up-the-stairs-without-wanting-to-scream" kind of pain. Just woke up with it one morning and couldn't get rid of it. All. Freaking. Day!
Lucky for me (and for those around me), I was JUST gifted a 45-minute massage at Health and Harmony massage, so I booked it with Kim Russom for the next day. Best life choice ever (well, one of). For a full 45 minutes (no skimping with consultation or prep), Kim worked the muscles associated with my injury. I didn't know if I want to hug her or kill her - it hurt so badly yet felt so good at the same time. After the 45 minutes, I walked out of there PAIN-FREE! Yup. Just like that.
So, Kim isn't a magician, but she really is. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and gives such amazing massages. I learned in that first visit that my piriformis muscle had decided that it wanted to wonk out on me. So Kim worked her magic, and I literally heard the heavens sing. She also explained what can cause the issue, which lined up perfectly to my newfound physical exercise, running. AND she demonstrated several stretches I could do to prevent it. Never had a problem with it again.
Flash forward to fall 2015 where I finally gave in to my inner (and wiser) self and joined their membership program. I had been going on and off to get a massage since spring 2014, but I finally committed to regular visits. So, for the past 4 months, I've been getting a 45 minute massage from Kim every two weeks. Each time, she works on my shoulders and neck, which are always in awful shape, but improving. If I wasn't a believer in Kim's services already, the first of my consistent visits back would make me one. When your sinuses just clear up or when that tension headache subsides as the right pressure is applied to the right spot, you become a believer! MAN! Earlier this month, I asked for arms since my shoulder was hurting - turns out the problem wasn't my shoulder, it was my bicep...which had started to remain contracted every night while I slept (thank you changes in sleeping positions after getting married). But I would've never learned that or the helpful stretches without Kim. The last time I went, I asked for full-body and found out my ankles have a limited range of motion (which explains my uncanny ability to walk in heels), and my calves are really more like knotted golfballs. Left that appointment with a list of stretches to do, too!
At this point, if you're still reading this, you're being silly. You should be booking your appointment instead, duh! There is a loyalty rewards program, too, so you can earn points to redeem with upgrades, etc. I'm half tempted to provide the website link I use when referring my friends (3 have booked with her after getting referrals from me, btw) so I can get the loyalty points for the referrals, but this massage is so worth it, I'm happy to simply spread the amazing news about this company's existence. I haven't had massages with the other masseuses, but I'm told they're just as good. Oh, and they have a second location in Frandor for people like me who feel a trip out to Dobie Rd in Okemos is like traveling to China :) read more
