This morning was one of those mornings where you're just glad you made it out the door on time--completely hectic. Before leaving to drop the kids off, I noticed my trash can had been absolutely obliterated by a gang of raccoons who clearly hosted a full-blown midnight rave in it. Trash everywhere. Multiple instances of mistaken failures to perform. We had to call and argue for hours Repeatedly. They came went in our fenced back yard and picked up our cans by mistake shutting down our account that was paid in full and dumped the trash in our front yard. I've been waiting all morning for a call back from management regarding a situation with my order, and I still don't have any answers. I ordered a 20-yard roll-off dumpster last Friday (7/25). The order was processed quickly, I signed and paid, and was told it would be delivered today, 7/29. Yesterday I called to confirm, since I had received no confirmation, and was told delivery could be anytime between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. No window at all. This morning around 6 a.m., your driver came out, decided the location in the order notes was "too hard," called but unable to reach us because we were still asleep at 6 am and then left. By the time I returned his call (around 7:00 am) we were awake and ready to give alternate instructions. He called me back at 7:45 am and told me I would need to call customer service because he couldn't come back without dispatch approval. Since 8 a.m., I've been on the phone repeatedly with the customer service team, passing messages back and forth with dispatch. The service rep tried to reach dispatch, then called me back saying there was a conflict between the driver's story and what I explained and the message from dispatch seemed real hostile and it seemed like they wouldn't be attempting any re-delivery today. The rep said she would get management involved and send them a message and she would call me back. It's now 11:00 am, and I still have no response or confirmation of whether this dumpster will be delivered today. We have a large, wide driveway with ample space for drop-off, and I honestly don't understand why the driver couldn't just complete the delivery. We specifically chose Tiger because the business is close to our home (5 minute drive down 87). At this point, the lack of clear communication between the driver, dispatch, customer service and management has been extremely frustrating. We have a construction/moving project underway today, and losing an entire day because no one can give us an answer is unacceptable. read more

I requested service from these guys 2 weeks ago. Paid 90 $ . 2 weeks later I still haven't received my can so I called them . After putting me on, hold to figure out what happened a man came back on and said apparently i Had service with them 8 years ago and I owed them money. That may have been the case but I would have expected someone to say that when I signed up. Not two weeks and 90 dollars later. Talk about shady business. I asked what I owed. The man said he could give me collections phone number. Ridiculous. Obviously I didn't owe more than a quarterly billing cycle. And i'm sure eight years ago, it was much cheaper than it is now. Most of my neighborhood uses this company, but I learned from multiple times happen to call them that they kept missing my house for one reason or another and sometimes they didn't have a reason. So I chose a different trash company and I've had no issues since. Tiger needs to step it up. The other complaint I had was that they no longer did the weekly recycle instead they wanted to do it every other week, but they did not lower your cost. I would probably reconsider possibly if they would get their service to be better and brought back the recycling every week. read more

We assumed the account was settled. * Five years later, after I started a new service under my name and phone number at our new home, I fell behind on a single payment. * I was notified only via an email sent to an unmonitored inbox. Without a phone call or text--which are industry standards for service cancellation--my bins were cancelled and collected. * When I called to restart, I was informed that I owed a collection fee and an account reinstatement fee for the new quarter. I refused this charge. * The Shocking Discovery: It was only when my fiancé called to attempt to start her own new service that Tiger informed her of a five-year-old past due balance on her original, long-cancelled account. This balance consisted of a $50 bin cleaning and pickup fee ($25 per bin) that was never communicated via phone, email, or text in the last half-decade. * Today, after receiving a random invoice and inquiring about it, I was threatened with being sent to collections over this $50 fee, which should clearly be a standard cost of doing business, not a penalty used to harass previous customers. 2. Retaliatory and Arrogant Management The lack of professionalism was solidified when a manager called my fiancé regarding her previous account. * The manager, without provocation or request, condescendingly asked my fiancé, "Do you know how to cancel service?" * This statement was both uncalled for and arrogant, demonstrating a management culture that uses intimidation and rudeness rather than service recovery. 3. Misleading Pricing and Service Claims * Tiger allegedly raised prices, citing a switch to new hydraulic-arm trucks that would eliminate the need for crew members hanging off the back. * This appeared to be a lie. We saw the new trucks only once or twice, and I frequently see Tiger crews in our neighborhood and surrounding areas operating the old way, with people walking alongside and hanging off the trucks. The Solution: Switched to a Superior Provider We have happily switched to a new provider who offers: * Weekly collection for both trash and recycling (Tiger only collected recycling every other week and does not accept glass). * A price that is approximately $30 less per quarter. * Excellent Customer Service: They use simple text messages to communicate any service or schedule changes immediately. * No Cancellation Fees or Bin Pickup Fees should we choose to end service. I paid $60 for a pick up service for an old mattress and was promised they would PU by 6 pm. They did not come and then refused to refund me. After talking to a manager, they offered to reimburse me 50% of the cost and proceeded to tell me that they would PU for bulk PU...this isn't a solution because bulk is scheduled in a few months and already part of our service agreement. I have been a customer for over two years and was a pretty happy camper for 65% of that time. Reduced services for recycling (every other week), disallowing additional bags for leafs and stuff (2 bags per pick-up day was the original service), then stating if the lid is raised in any manner the trash would not be collected was frustrating but I hung in there. Granted the prices did not drop with the reduced services, but remained the same based on inflation (explanation by business and employee health from picking up bags and injuries) The thing that has really pushed me to the brink is the truck driving by and simply not picking up the garbage due to driver/crew error. This requires me to call Tiger, wait 20 mins for a callback because the lines are so busy, explain that yet again my trash was not picked up, then schedule a special pick-up. Hassle and really poor client experience and service. Myriad of excuses but none have not been associated with me not following the rules. It is a hassle to change providers as many know but I think that I have reached my tipping point. I would happily pay more for solid and consistent service. Crossing my fingers they come back after my call to Tiger but it could not be guaranteed. I see myself rolling my can to the back yard and calling the day after Thanksgiving to try to solve this again. Shouldn't be this hard. read more

Fine, so i broke down boxes and have been slowly putting them into my container. Come home today and i have trash in my driveway. totally unacceptable. Tiger Sanitation does not keep their promises. I had to cut back trees that were over top, near and touching my roof to also include overall tree pruning so I could get Farmers Insurance to cover my 16 year old roof that needs replaced. I called Tiger last Tuesday for information and they said how to bundle the brush and then to call them and pay them with a credit card to pick up the bundles. I called them back last Friday and paid $50 dollars for them to pick up on Monday, Aug 4th. They promised to pick up the brush on Monday. They did not arrive by 3:30 PM so I called their offices. Tiger Rep said they just forgot to pick it up because they have to send out a special truck. Then at 5:30 PM a Tiger truck arrived and sat outside my house. Three guys were in a truck and they sat in the front seat of the truck for at least 5 minutes. I waited for them to get out of the truck and get the brush but they did not - they just drove off without picking up my $50 -pre-paid brush. I told Michelle at the HOA about this and the HOA said Tiger is like that and she gave me permission to leave the brush on the sidewalk in front of my house through this Thursday. I had already gotten permission from Michelle to have brush on my property and side walk since last Thursday. So I want to make sure neighbors know I have called Tiger a total of 4 times and called the HOA 4 times during this whole tree trimming project. I will never rely on Tiger again. It is Thursday, Aug 7th - Tiger promised to pick up my branches today no later than 7 pm today. It is 7:15 pm and my branches are still on the curb. I called them everyday this week to make sure they were coming today. I even called today around 2 pm to let them know the branches were still there - they said they would pick up by 7 PM today. At this point, I do not know what to do as I don't have a truck to take the branches to a recycle center. I also already paid Tiger $50 dollars. They are the worst. I will have to call Michelle again at the HOA about Tiger. Try to be a responsible homeowner and remove branches so I can get a new roof and this happens. Tiger sanitation used to be great. I had had their service for nine years and the first eight years. I have no complaints. Not really sure what happened in the last year, but they went way downhill. They stopped allowing extra bags and wouldn't pick up if the lid was even an inch open and they started raising their prices, but that's not why I gave it one star. The reason for one star is because I sold my house and was moving out of the area to an area where they do not service so I needed to cancel my account. They told me that they charge $25 plus tax to pick up my can that I've had there for nine years. I asked why and the lady told me that that is their service fee for picking up a can that is their property in the first place. I told her I do not agree to pay the $25 and asked if the phone call was being recorded and that I absolutely deny being charged even one penny for them to pick up their own property. That is a part of doing business when you have a service and you lend out a product and you charge a service before the product every month you do not charge to pick up your product at the end of the time. I argued with them back-and-forth for quite a while and again checked that the recording was recording my denial of payment for the pick up of the can and they said yes. Two days later I get a charge on my credit card for over $27 from Tiger sanitation I have been unable to reach them in order to get my money back. Who win the right mind charges the customer for their own operating expenses. That is part of the service And shame on them. Greedy business with no ethics. Tiger Sanitation does a good job of emptying the trash on schedule, and I appreciate the consistency of their regular pickup service. However, their bulk trash pickup policy is incredibly frustrating. I spent considerable time breaking down branches and neatly packing them into three 95-gallon bags, as directed by one operator, only to be told later they only accept four 35-gallon bags. It's infuriating to receive conflicting instructions, especially after putting in so much effort to follow their guidelines. They can handle a 95-gallon bin but can't take bags of similar size? It makes no sense and leaves a lot to be desired in terms of communication and service for bulk waste. read more

Two of the recent times where there has been a delay, an email went out to at least notify customers of the service delay and trash was picked up on Saturday morning. This week, however, trash was not picked up on Friday. I am writing this review on Saturday evening, with my trash can still outside waiting to be picked up. I did see a garbage truck collect from one half of the street, but apparently it did not continue through the rest of our street. I also have had long wait times on customer service, and other somewhat recent service changes have included not accepting glass in recycling as well as decreasing recycling collection to every other week. We have one other option in our subdivision, about whom the reviews are equally as negative, so unfortunately, our neighborhood is stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm writing this review so that at least if people have no alternatives to this company, they are at least prepared for the potential worse, especially as service quality has been on a steep decline recently. read more

I have been a customer of Tiger's for a little over a year. I have previously been with another company who had the time hadn't "been able" to pick up our trash for 2 weeks so I immediately switched. My experience has been great. Yes there have been times where they have missed a pick up but that is handled on the next business day. As far as service, their trucks also come through on a routine schedule, normally before 9am. I'm glad I switched, I've never had issues calling in for service and the price is comparable to other trash companies in San Antonio. read more

Worst trash service I have ever had! Only pick up recycling every two weeks. Only pick up trash every week. It's almost like they don't want to pick your trash up. I rent my home so I am stuck with the lousy service I have heavy trash that I have heavy trash that I have to haul to the dump cause they only have heavy trash like once a year. And it's at collection point. So that means I have stock pile trash for a year and then borrow/rent a truck to haul to the selected trash dump. I have the most amazing people working on the trucks in my neighborhood with Tiger Sanitation. They are Rafael Badillo, Sebastin Cervera, and Sergio Hernandez. These men are extremely kind to everyone in the neighborhood, especially the children. The children love seeing the big trucks. If they see you taking your trash out at the last minute they will even wait for you to get to the curb. One time, they came back to pick up my trash after I followed them in the car and told them that I was late. Hats off to these amazing workers. read more

However, if you need to make a change or need assistance, you're told they will call you back in 24 to 48 hours. This has been happening for three weeks, and I have not heard back. I can only imagine them avoiding me because I want to downgrade my dumpster. Why would they return my call for assistance when I'm trying to spend less money with them? I am not happy with Tiger sanitation. In my neighborhood we were given a list of sanitation companies to use. After owning my home for almost 3 years, we got a letter saying we were going to fined for not using Tiger because apparently our neighborhood had an exclusive contract to only use Tiger. I never signed a contract stating that. My previous company was $65 a quarter and we never had any issues. We were very happy with Hill Country Waste. After all of this, we had to switch to Tiger in fear of being fined by our HOA. I was quoted at $83 a quarter for trash and recycling. I said I don't want recycling and they said "oh it's the same price with or without recycling." They had my card on file and didn't go through with the payment for one month of use. My statement this week is $141. I called to see why and they said because I didn't pay initially. No, you had my card on file and didn't take payment. Also, now they stated that my HOA agreed to a price increase but didn't tell its residents. Although $7 might not be a lot to people, we were paying $65. So that's an increase that we were not expecting for a reason that's out of our control. Beyond frustrated!!!!!! I do not recommend. read more
