This place is amazing. I have scheduled all my appointments as I decided to take the leap and go for a full sleeve. A friend recommended Spence so I met with him and we got to work. He does awesome work and knows his stuff. My advice is listen to your artist and ask what they think. He will let you know if it will turn out good from placement to design and detail. And he is right! We finished up one sleeve and it turned out better than I thought! We are already working on a 2nd sleeve. Everyone there is great to interact with, they have been welcoming and created a friendly atmosphere. Always willing to chat if they are able and often they want to see the progress of the sleeve. read more

Husband and I are celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary and wanted to spontaneously get some ring-finger tattoos. It's been a rough year with losing his mother to cancer, buying a house in a rough market, and the ups and downs of normal life. We chose Tiger Rose Tattoo for their reviews and their ability to do walk-ins was a huge factor. The gentleman who took our initial information was super sweet and kind, it was a $150 minimum but I figured it would be worth it to have quality work done. After putting our names down we came back 30 min or so later & I can't remember our artist but he was in the back corner. We were told before getting our tattoos that the fingers are a different type of skin so rather than doing a line all the way around, it was only on the top. Sounded reasonable enough so we went with his advice. This was my third tattoo so I opted to go first, he did a pretty decent job shaving my finger, cleaning me off, and getting me situated. Took all of 5 minutes and then it was my husbands turn. He got two lines vs I only got one. He didn't have his finger shaved, he also took about 5 minutes and then we got wrapped up, paid $300 for three simple lines total... which is a bit nuts, but we paid and were off on our way. This was on Dec 31st, it's been 2 weeks now and we're not thrilled with the results. It literally looks like someone took a fine tip sharpie and drew two lines on my husbands finger. On the left side of my ringer finger, there's a chunk missing where black ink should be. It's truly absurd how much we paid and we'll have to find a better artist to help either make the lines thicker or just forget the whole idea and have it removed. This was my husbands first tattoo experience and I'm livid with his results. Do not do walkins here... I wouldn't trust them to do any of my other tattoos. read more

Best place to get a tattoo, hands down! The artists here (special shout out to Jeff!) are amazing! They specialize in clean lines, shading and bright colors! They have walk ins 6 days a week and are closed on Sundays. My friends and I often opt to do the walk in but you should try to arrive a bit before open, depending on the day, because the wait could be up to 2-3 hours. Making an appointment is also super easy! Find the business on instagram, check out the artists work, and DM the person you want to schedule with. They do a good job at putting their own Artist spin on your ideas or will draw something up for you. Thank you so much for working with me! read more

Rachel is superbly wonderful! She takes an idea, creates beautiful art and then I get it to wear it forever!

Did a walk in on my birthday and was greeted by Matt Simmonds. He called when my slot opened and did the tattoo himself. I could NOT be happier. I decided to add color to an existing tattoo, which was far more than coloring in, but a design of colors around and through the tattoo. Matt did it with pleasure and true professionalism. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him during the session, and appreciated the detailed information he shared - and honesty when I asked about getting a different tattoo. He's MY guy from here on out. read more

Went in for a walk in to get a half dollar sized simple starfish outline behind my ear and 4 blacked out stars. I've had tattoos before and have never been charge this much- All together 300$. If the tattoos were top quality I would not complain, however the stars aren't even blacked out all the way and look pretty blown out. Also should be healed however the tattoo might've been too deep and left scarring as I properly took care of it during healing. I don't have any problems with the starfish but will definitely have to have work to fix the stars. read more

I just got my first tattoo from Donald Casey at Tiger Rose and I could not be happier. I was nervous because the tattoo I wanted required some portions to be out of focus and others had great detail but his work exceeding my best case scenario expectations. It was the first tattoo of a tribute to my daughter and I could tell he took it serious and cared about what I wanted. There's no doubt he's my "tattoo guy" for life. I'll post my tattoo once it heals to verify the great quality of Donald's work. I also got to meet other artist while I was getting my work done and I'd be happy to get a tattoo from anyone here. Professional, courteous, and top notch work by all. NE Mpls, tattoos, and awesome people - what more could you ask for? read more

If you're looking for a laid back shop, with cool artists and solid work to back it all up, this shop is for you. The artists are friendly and talented. You wont be talked down to or made to feel out of place like most tattoo shops around the city. You will be comfortable and your art will be amazing. Everything I have ever gotten done has been done professionally and with the utmost care. Kyle has been my artist for a few years now and I can say confidently, I will be a loyal customer for several years to come. Try it, you won't be disappointed! read more

Dope owner and artists that produce solid, clean work every time. Had my sleeve done at this shop and I'm very happy with it.

This place is great for getting simple tattoos at a good price for a walk in. The only downfall I would say is the wait because of the walk ins. But overall great artists and great shop. I've gotten 5 tattoos here b read more

Got a tattoo here and I could tell from the beginning the artist wasn't really enthusiastic about doing what I wanted in the first place , I decided to do it anyway because it was gonna be small and I wasn't too worried about it but within a day the tattoo blew out. When I went to another artist for an opinion, they said it was poorly done and a result of the artist going to deep. I called and asked if there was anything I could/should do and never heard back. I tried to reach out multiple times and no one responded to my texts and I'm out of town so I could not go back. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend read more

My grandma passed away this morning and I thought it would be great to get a tattoo of something special that I'd been planning for a while, to honor her. I came in and the receptionist was so incredibly kind and helpful. The artist however, blonde short hair and tall, was so rude to me. It was truly the worst I've ever been treated by anyone at an establishment. I've never experienced this type of behavior in public in front of other people. Not only did he talk over me telling me what I "do and don't want", he also wouldn't let me plan out my second tattoo because he didn't think that I could "handle" more than one (I have several tattoos, and I absolutely can handle it). He didn't look at me when he was explaining his "art" (which was an iPad tracing the photo that I airdropped him). He looked at the kind receptionist and said "can you reiterate to her in different words?" implying that I wasn't understanding his "feedback". I understood. I just asked to move forward with a different drawing if that one wasn't possible. It was so hostile that I started crying in the middle of the shop. That's when he looked at me in the face and told me that it's "not smart" to get a tattoo when you're so emotional about something. Anyone looking for a passionate and kind artist that is true to the craft, shouldn't come here. I refuse to believe any man should treat anyone this way. There are so many incredible tattoo artists in Minneapolis, don't settle for someone that makes a grieving woman cry. read more

Tiger Rose continues to impress me over and over again. Kyle Skyer does amazing traditional tattoos, but i wanted something more realistic, and he exceeded my expectations. He's engaging through the entire process. He was supportive about all of my ideas and integrated all of them beautifully. He kept me distracted and involved me in shop antics while I was getting tattooed, and asked me to come back just to "check in" after it was all healed. I can not express my love for this shop enough and I wont stop until this shop gets the cred it deserves in this city! Also, cant wait to see what Hanna has up her sleeves now that she's piercing at TR. read more

This one is a bit of a personal review for me. I have known Metal Mike forever. Not only is he a great artist, but he is one of the best people I know. My wife and I live in New Orleans, but wait until MPLS trips to get tattooed by Mike. His shop is laid back, but he really cares about the quality of the work he puts out. However, he is not one of those elitist artists that will tell you what he will and won't tattoo. The shop is also clean and comfortable. If you've been wanting some fresh ink, don't hesitate. Pack your pain tolerance and your best dirty jokes (they'll be appreciated) and go see Metal at Tiger Rose today. read more

Tiger Rose is a great shop. They do walk-ins & custom work, and they have a number of really solid artists who care a lot about their work. It's one of the cleanest shops i have ever been in, and if you're a woman looking for a tattoo, you're not going to be subject to a bunch of stupid, leering bullshit. I have only had work done by Metal Mike. I really like his work, and have returned to have 4 tattoos done by him. And really - that should tell you everything you need to know about my opinion of his work. I personally have not had work done by Kyle Skyer, but he also does great work and is all-around great guy. Bottom line: great place to get tattooed. No bullshit. And I send every single one of my friends here. read more

I walked in here to get pierced on a whim during Art-A-Whirl, and I wish I had gone sooner! Hanna is now my official go-to for anything piercing related. I have plans of many more holes being added to my body, and I love how excited she gets whenever I talk about ideas with her! She is so clean and confident and I feel very comfortable having her pierce me. She also does orders for custom jewelry, which I am so excited about. I will be back here again and again, that's how happy I am with my experience. read more

We never actually got tattooed, but we were taken aback by the customer service. They assured us that if we ran some errands, they'd give us a call when it was our time for a walk in, just for a couple little tattoos. Three hours later, I called back to inquire how much longer we should wait because there were three of us hoping to get tattooed and the shop closed in two hours. The man on the phone was rude and talked to me like I was stupid, and told me to wait for a call. Two hours later, nothing, not even to let us know that they wouldn't have the space for us tonight and to come back tomorrow, since we were already on the list with our ideas and phone number. read more

I could not have been happier with my first tattoo experience! I walked in with a very vague idea of what I wanted, and walked out 2 hours later with an amazing piece of art on my back! Spencer did an amazing job! He helped me plan what I really wanted out of the tattoo, and asked me what price I was aiming for. Based on the idea and the price, he drew something up that matched exactly what I was looking for! I got pretty light headed shortly after starting, but Spencer was so patient and accommodating, and made sure I was feeling better before we finished up. The lines and color are fantastic! I will definitely be going back for future tattoos! read more

Came in as a walk-in, Jeff greeted me and made feel welcomed. Explained to me that they were busy at the moment and an artist would be with shortly. At first i was taken back because they had a Mariah Carey playlist playing while tattooing haha. Kyle was able to help me when he arrived, charged me a fair price and did good work. Definitely will be back for more art. read more

Josh. Does a good old school anchor. Super snarky and super nice. We got to talk about weird sex, how much tattoos hurt and recovery. I've been to many tattoo shops that have made me feel very uncomfortable. For many years I put off receiving a tattoo, for fear of being judged and looked down on (a feeling I have felt many times in a shop while with relatives or friends). My experience at Tiger Rose has been the complete opposite of my experiences in the past! Everyone at Tiger Rose are welcoming, and super genuine/down to earth! Very friendly staff/owners, and their shop is super clean! I have now received two tattoos at this shop, and will not go anywhere else! Love them! read more

My mom and I were in Minneapolis for a family thing and decided to get tattoos. Yelp led us here and I'm glad it did. The place was clean, the wait wasn't too long (we arrived relatively early in the afternoon on a Saturday), the prices were fair, and the tattoos came out great. One of the artists was a little snippy/a little less than super friendly to the girl who worked there (Assistant? Receptionist? She was very sweet and helpful), but he may have been having a bad day. Either way, I'd go to them again for my next tattoo if I lived in the area. read more

Best experience in ANY tattoo shop yet! Walked in, Mike was super helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. These guys seemed super professional and knew what they were doing! They also gave me some simple advise on how to take care of my new tattoo while it was healing. The colors pop so hard and line work turned out so clean!
