My Girlfriend and I were searching for a long time as we looked to find a good fit for both of us to get our first tattoos. All we can say is we lucked out to find Ocean Blue Tattoo. We happen to be in the area and took a flyer walk in. We met with Daniel (Owner/Artist) on a late Saturday afternoon. We were so impressed. Daniel was gracious as he spent nearly 2 hours consulting with us both, not even knowing if we would get tattoos with his shop. It was such a collaborative experience - Daniel not only listened but guided us as we worked through our desired individual Tattoo's. Daniel isn't your average industry inker - his gentle energy and unique artistry pour out from him and his approach to people and also what is clearly his passion of art/tattoo's . When we left we knew where we would be getting our first ink. His shop is quaint but very clean and welcoming and the cost was very reasonable from other quotes we had. The other artist Antony was very friendly and the art on his wall looked incredible also. Week later I got my first ink and it met and passed my expectations. All I can say is Daniel and his shop will be the only one I will go to for any future Tattoo's. I got my first tattoo at Ocean Blue with Jared, and it was a great experience from beginning to end. First, I came in for a consultation where I brought pictures of what I wanted, and Daniel looked at it and designed it for me. He was great at understanding my vision, and what I wanted, and didn't charge for his amazing design. He told me he was booked up, but that Jared also did great water color work, and that he would do it. The tattoo itself was on my upper arm, and nearly painless. Jared was extremely professional the entire time, and made sure I had eaten that day, and offered me water to stay hydrated. He also set my ease by telling me a bit about himself. He checked in on me frequently. There was also a T.V for me to choose a movie to watch while being tattooed. Daniel himself also came in to check the progress at several points throughout. Overall the vibe was extremely friendly and down to earth. And in the end, the tattoo turned out epic. I sent pictures to all my friends, and they were all super impressed. The combination of line work, shading, and the gray-scale was immaculate, as well as extremely artistic and expressive. I'm super proud to wear it and it was everything I could have hoped. read more

I can't recommend Ocean Blue enough! Daniel & Nick did amazing work on 3 tattoos for me this week. Daniel's watercolor work is insane. I paint watercolor nature scenes & plants - watercolor is such a fluid medium, you can't control it, you work entirely through flow control. Watching Daniel take such unforgiving tools as needles & ink to skin & have the end result look like someone literally used your body as their watercolor canvas is wild. Nick's line work is the exact opposite in the best way. His precision & detail work is what you drool over on Instagram & Pinterest. It's crisp, it's fine & he is an absolute perfectionist. I don't know about you, but I want my tattoo artist to be a perfectionist!!! Nick is the artist who cleans your tattoo off completely, intending to be done & once all that ink is wiped away, he looks everything over with a fine tooth comb & goes in to touch up the most minute details. He could skip that extra step & I honestly doubt anyone would notice... except him. THAT is how you know, without a doubt, your artist takes extreme pride in their work. my mother passed away in 2010. it took me 13 years to find an artist I trusted to capture the vision i had for a tattoo to honor her. I came across a recommendation for OBT on a Fb page for moms. when i visited the website and perused the gallery, i was stunned by the work of one particular artist, Daniel. the detail and vibrant colors were like nothing i'd ever seen. I knew he was the artist for my piece. The shop is top notch: it's welcoming and clean. During my consultation Daniel sat with me for about an hour to design my tattoo. I came back again to finalize the design, and was forced to bring my young children because the sitter canceled. Everyone in the shop was so sweet to them! The tattoo took two sessions, and working with Daniel was great. i loved getting to know him and listening to his stories. Seriously the most interesting man in the world. Daniel is the only tattoo artist I am willing to work with as long as he is working. Out of all of my tattoos, the ones I have gotten from him are superior. I have four tattoos with him, soon to be five. He blows me away every time and I am frequently complimented on all of the tattoos he's done when they are visible. His work is clean, ages well, and he is adamant about the quality of his work and the supplies he uses. My family goes to him, to. He creates a safe atmosphere and makes sure you feel comfortable and secure. Excellent personality and I love the shop so much. I would recommend him to anyone. The other artists in the shop are great, too. I just haven't worked with them personally but I am always impressed by the artwork they share on social media or what I see them working on whenever I am there. This shop is incredible, very hip, modern and artsy. I am a photographer, so my idea was to have a picture of a camera with the names of my children on it. I described to Daniel (the artist) an outline of what I was hoping for and brought along a few pictures for him to use. He took what I brought in with my ideas I had in mind and created an an image that was even better than what I had imagined. My actual tattoo is so realistic that it is almost like having a 3D image on my arm, and the way he incorporated the names into the work seems so natural. I have seen his tattoos before that had a super realistic look to them, but I could not have envisioned this in my wildest dreams. All the people I have shown it to have been stunned at the realistic look of my tattoo. If your looking for a tattoo this is the place to go. I will be returning! read more

I have been coming here for over two years and have gotten several pieces done and have LOVED all of them! I recently went there to get a very detailed, black ink tattoo done and met a new artist who recently started working there, Tenzin. Danny, who is my normal tattoo artist, passed me off to Tenzin explaining that he did really clean line work and he was not kidding! I was absolutely blown away by Tenzin's work and it has become one of my favorite tattoo's! Tenzin was very easy to work with and Danny has found himself an extremely talented new tattoo artist. Daniel is a ton of fun to work with and because of that we have developed a good friendship. I was diagnosed with cancer and I had surgery and was told I was cancer free a few weeks later. Got my first tattoo done by Daniel at Ocean Blue. I searched for a long time for a watercolor specialist, and am so glad I found him. I didn't have a design in advance, only screenshots of several pieces I'd liked on line, and pointed out what I liked about each one. I knew placement, that I wanted flowers, gave my preferred colors, and he did the rest. I really appreciated that he paced the 5 hour session according to my comfort - paying close attention to my level of discomfort and taking breaks as needed. I worked with Ashton and he took great care of me. He made me feel very comfortable and matched my energy - vibing with your artist is so important and he really knows how to work with people. Even when I changed my idea just days before he was flexible and came up with an awesome design that I LOVE. I came in with a full back piece idea that I've been nervous about finding the right artist for. Anthony Tautges was able to bring it to life and actually worked through some of the design with me at the computer. I loved that because I felt a part of the process! 5 months and 4 sessions later, we've finished my back piece and it's amazing!
