The first time, I had my husband's name tatted on my inner wrist. (Yes, he also got my name on his wrist. We've been together 20+ years so we figured by now, we are safe from suffering the "Getting lover's name tattoo and promptly breaking up" curse.) I knew from that first tattoo that it wouldn't be my last. As Hung said, "you'll be back more". My husband is also thinking of his second one. I lost a beloved pet last year in the most devastating and traumatic way. I have been thinking of how to honor him (and our other kitties) to show my gratitude for their lives spent at my side. I decided on one that I knew I would be happy carrying for life and that would embody the feelings that I feel. I'm happy that I waited until now, because tattoos are so personal and mine hold such meanings to me. Hung delivered again. I've been hemming and hawing at the idea of getting doubles done on my earlobes (I know, I'm such a…read morewimp) for a while now, and got recommended this place from a coworker who got her cartilage done here. Since my last and only experience getting anything pierced was from Claire's in the 2000s, I really didn't know what to expect other than 1. Don't use guns and 2. Piercing shops probably know better than the teenagers at Claire's. Booking an appointment for a piercing was super easy, and I was able to get one with Katie. I decided to purchase the jewelry there, although I didn't ask if you could bring your own, but I figured if I was gonna be stuck with this in my ears for a while, I should choose something with a more comfortable backing than the pieces I already had. The jewelry is a little on the pricy side, but the fact that it was implant grade titanium as the backing + 14k gold as the ball made me feel assured it was not going to cause any irritation since I had to leave it in. Katie was awesome - she walked me through what the piercing process would entail, the dos and do nots of a new piercing, and aftercare before we even got started. She marked up where the placement would be after examining where it probably look best based on my ear shape, and encouraged me to change it if I wanted to do as "there are no rules to this". The process itself was a lot less stressful than I made it out to be in my head, and I left feeling great about my decision.

A friend of mine had gotten inked here before, so when I was visiting we spur-of-the-moment decided to go back and walk in to see if we could get another, since she had enjoyed her first experience so much. That's also nice- you can walk in a lot of days here and get tattooed. Since covid that can be hit or miss to come by, and having to set an appointment can be such a pain. So, we walked in and they told us (3 of us wanting to get tatted, by the way) to come back in an hour and they'd squeeze us in, and that's exactly what they did. We all got tattooed by 3 different artists, and it was such a fun time. Everyone in the shop is super laid back and just enjoying the vibes and you could feel it. Mitch worked on my tattoo, and he drew up such a beautiful design I couldn't even believe it, but it was the truth. He was so good at listening to what I wanted and making it come to life, even with just a walk-in, smaller scale tat. I really enjoyed Mitch, he was funny and so charismatic and made the entire experience that much better. One bad thing about the Truth is that they are pretty terrible at answering the phone, so if you call don't expect someone to pick up. You have to find their Google Doc sheet to send a request for an appointment and that's your best bet to get set up there if you don't go in person.
