This is my second tattoo at the ripe old age of...and both were done by Hung's own talented hand. The shop is clean and both Hung and his daughter Trish are so friendly and welcoming. The first time, I had my husband's name tatted on my inner wrist. (Yes, he also got my name on his wrist. We've been together 20+ years so we figured by now, we are safe from suffering the "Getting lover's name tattoo and promptly breaking up" curse.) I knew from that first tattoo that it wouldn't be my last. As Hung said, "you'll be back more". My husband is also thinking of his second one. I lost a beloved pet last year in the most devastating and traumatic way. I have been thinking of how to honor him (and our other kitties) to show my gratitude for their lives spent at my side. I decided on one that I knew I would be happy carrying for life and that would embody the feelings that I feel. I'm happy that I waited until now, because tattoos are so personal and mine hold such meanings to me. Hung delivered again. I had my second tattoo doneat Hung's parlor, and had another good experience. He now has his daughter to help, which was nice. They arrived a little late, which was slightly disappointing, but the end result was good. Very friendly family, and willing to help construct your design for your ideal tattoo. From what I could tell practices were clean and sanitary, I did not have any concerns for infection, which is really important given this activity. Lots of ideas and fonts to choose from, this place is trusted and I would come back for more when the time is right. I initially picked Hung's studio due to the great reviews he had on Yelp. My son (and artist) had created a tattoo design for me and I was excited to get it done. Hung gave me great advice on how big to make it and was amazingly accurate in keeping to the design. 5.5 hours of quality time spent with Hung - a great guy to talk to - and the end result was amazing. Hung is awesome! Hard to believe there are so few reviews for his Minnesota shop. I emailed Hung after reviewing his work and he was very quick to reply and set an appointment. I wanted a maple leaf on my inner forearm. Hung drew it up in about 20 minutes and probably took a little over an hour to ink me. My wife sat and watched and we couldn't believe how quick he worked. It's been just over two weeks since my tattoo by Hung. I wanted to wait until everything was healed so I could write a thorough review. First I want to say that I've been wanting this tattoo for a few years now. It just never seemed to be the right time. Moving to San Diego just a year and a half ago I didn't know any tattoo artist and knew I would have to do a lot of research. So when my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas this past year I knew what it was! Because I had already begun my search. Take it from a 25 year investigator...... I did my research. I chose Hung for many reasons including customer service, bed side manners and quality of work of course. And even though I had been told by other artist they couldn't do what I wanted, Hung assured me it was not only possible but it would be awesome. Allow me to add don't let the outside of the building or his shop fool you. I admit when I first showed up I was skeptical. But I was convinced I needed to at least meet him and I'm so glad I did. Because just a few weeks later he was doing my tattoo. One thing you should know is I have found in my research that lettering is different from other tattoos. Because my tattoo is a verse from the Bible I was extra worried to make sure I found the right person. My tattoo is absolutely beautiful. From him assisting in the design to completing the work to after care, I couldn't be happier. I had a great time getting to know Hung in the three hours I was and I have even more respect for him as a person and an artist. I stare at my tattoo all day!! I came here for 3 of my tattoos. Satisfied and affordable each time. Uncle Hung is super nice, funny, and easy to talk to while getting a tattoo. I like that whatever you try to describe to him and you are unsure about something, he just knows what you want and delivers more than what you expected. I have a back piece of a phoenix and I'm amazed that he used a stencil to give you an idea of what's going on the back but he freehand a good portion of my tattoo and it's like wow. I'm just happy every time I leave here. There's a tiny small private lot so parking is difficult. But you can park on the street, some have meters and some spots don't. Hung is just amazing. I found him through a Facebook friend. Her body is 90% covered with ink and I love all of her tattoos so I asked who her artist was. She told me Hung did most of her ink. What I liked about Hung's shop is that it's only him and his daughter, that's it. Both have private cubicles so you're not exposed to everyone walking in and there are not a bunch of tattoo guys lurking around as you walk into his shop. It's his shop which is so much better. I recently had surgery and a bad scar that I wanted to disappear. Not only that but I wanted to cover up an old tattoo as well. I wanted flowers and ocean waves. We found two beautiful flowers that he drew up and the ocean waves were free style marked on my body. I love the free style, that's what an artist is all about. That's how you can tell a good artist from a great one. I was sold the minute he said that. The appointment scheduling was easy and he told me exactly what to expect. The first 3 hours was the outline and he had enough time to complete one flower. The flower covered the old tattoo which completely disappeared. The outline covered most of the scar and I was already so grateful. I came back 8 days later to complete the tattoo. It took another 4 and 1/2 hours and I couldn't be more pleased. I love the vibrant colors and it's more than I have envisioned. I love the ocean waves, it all is vibrant and very pleasing to the eye. So now, I'm hooked. I'm coming back for more. Hung is a super nice guy. Easy to talk to and a great artist.. I couldn't have asked for more. His prices are reasonable for the amazing work he does. Thanks again Hung. See you soon. read more

Got my first ever tattoo today! I was extremely nervous. I didn't realize that they were by appointment only so I called first thing monday morning and I was told my a really nice lady to come in around 12. When I got there, the parlor is very nice and welcoming. There's a father daughter pair of tattoo artists, the latter of whom did my ink. I had an extremely small tattoo design and she printed it out off the computer and pre-selected a font that looked great. I was torn between two sizes so she traced both onto my back so I could really make a good decision. The tattooing itself was pretty quick and not nearly as bad as I expected. I was super happy. They gave me a care sheet to take home and a packet of A&D ointment. **also, their minimum charge is $40 which is really nice considering I had a super uncomplicated, small tattoo. read more

The Greatest! I waited a bit before I sent in a review so I could make sure that everything was healed correctly and so I could appreciate the art so much more. I turned 18 in November of 2018 so like any other teenager I decided it was time to get a tattoo. I wanted to get a full sleeve for my first tattoo and was looking for something traditional as I am of Asian heritage and I'm so thankful I was able to find Hung. He is a true tattoo master with so much experience its mind boggling to think of what hes done, the first time I came in there was already a bond that was created as Hung was very welcoming and very friendly. He works very quickly and very accurately with a reasonable price for the work that he does. I went in with a very broad loose idea with images that I wanted to be tattooed and he made my sleeve much more than what I could have ever imagined it to look like.
