I had gotten my nose pierced with Selina and unfortunately after a good month of healing I started experiencing hypertrophic scarring (which is basically the skin producing excessive collagen ) and resulted in an ugly bump around my piercing. I have been visiting Selina since then and she has been so helpful giving me various tips and tricks to help me bring the bump down and heal without scarring. Has my bump completely gone? No, its a work in progress but having someone like Selina to work with has really made me worry less about it and know it will eventually go away. But these folks exceeded not just my expectations, but my hopes, in every possible way. First of all, we are a low-income family, but I didn't want to go to a mall-based option, so I was researching price options. Bevel was actually one of the best prices for a minor, if not the best I found. I also called ahead of time to ask about their cheaper jewelry options. Even though it's a pretty swanky place, the person I talked to was not only understanding, but enthusiastic about making sure I had the info I needed. There was no hint of just being "tolerated" even though I wasn't going to give them much money. And they really do have an extensive selection of LOVELY jewelry at the lower end of their price range that suit a variety of tastes. Second of all, our family is at high risk for covid, so we still mask in public spaces. Nate was our piercer, and he took the initiative to offer to mask for us when we saw were wearing masks. That means a lot to us, and the proactive attention and care says a lot about the attitude he brings to the place. I was a bit nervous for my daughter, because she is highly sensitive in pretty much every way, including to pain. Nate was spectacular. Not only did he talk her through every step ahead of time (including a discussion of consent, where he ensured her that she could say at any moment that she needed a break or some space), but he was encouraging and fun in a natural way--not in the overly cheery way some folks interact with kids. She commented after we got home about how nice he was. As I had expected, she experienced the piercing as fairly painful, and Nate was absolutely perfect. In between ears, he did not push AT ALL to move on to the second ear, even though I'm sure we were taking quite a bit of his time. He gave her space to calm and prepare, encouraged her to let out the tears she had forming, and affirmed how well she was doing. He even offered to send us home with some saline wipes that feel cool on the pierced area and help soothe some of the pain, which really did help my daughter for the next couple hours. I honestly have tears in my eyes writing this. The piercings also look great, of course, but a lot of people can do a good piercing. The way we were treated from start to finish--especially the genuine care offered to my kiddo--was what really stood out, and I truly can't recommend these folks enough.

He explained everything he was doing before doing it, asked if he could touch me, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time- whoever he was (I missed the name) was a 12/10. The second visit I wanted to go from a hoop back to the stud- having no idea how to remove the hoop I again let the professional handle it. This time I had a different employee who I believe has a guest spot. He was nice, but just kinda grabbed ahold of my nose, no explanation, no ask to touch (not that these are super important to me personally but it's just so different). No sanitation of my nose...just different. Had that been my first visit I wouldn't have thought anything of it- but because I had such an amazing first visit I was a little bummed. She very patiently took me through a few options for my antitragus jewelry and we settled on a really cute moon and a few other seamless rings for my lobe piercings that were currently empty. The back room where she changed my jewelry was spotless and comfortable, and she slipped the seamless rings into my (fairly closed) lobes with ease. I didnt even feel the antitragus jewlery go in. One problem: you can't tip with a card! I didn't have cash on me, so next time I drop in I'll make sure I do. Totally an oversight on my part :'(. As being such a busy mall location, I hope that these skilled piercing technicians are well appreciated, because they are AWESOME. It looked like it had keloids which are normal from these types of piercings but after placing individual studs in each hole it is not it seems to be worse. I will say a few piercings I got weren't the worst but this one made the whole experience not great and I will not be going back. I know they don't have much experience now and would definitely recommend going to a place with more experience.
