They put names up too! Kind of a neat and cool touch!

Great place! Awesome vibe. Talented and personable artists. I have been there for 2 different pieces; both times: quick, thorough, pristinely clean and just a great place overall! If it is your first tattoo or 7th... this place is worth it. They make you feel at safe and explain the process And steps so you understand everything completely. I liked that John was very engaged and helpful with size, comfort, pain level.., and the front desk person would come check up on us as well as the artist. They all seem to enjoy working There and together!

Disclaimer: What I PERSONALLY get at Black Coffin is just a taste of what they have to offer in terms of style and creative. Please read for further detail and not just judge based off my pictures I like to consider myself an ideal canvas. I do go to an artist with a tattoo, I find someone who loves to do the style I want and give them a concept. Getting my art this way has resulted in pieces I am so proud to wear on my skin. Black coffin offers a unique aesthetic as well as a personal and home feeling. It may not look like home but it FEELS like home. The one on one time the artists put in with you is second to none. You could walk in with an idea and style and there will be an artist there that will love it and absolutely kill it. Anything from fine line to traditional to new school to (what I like to call and what I personally get) the coffin special. I have had the absolute pleasure and honor of being able to work with the most honest, transparent, humble, creative, and proud artist I've ever met. Garrett is someone who has done everything under the sun but understands that if it's not a tattoo he wants to do, it's not going to be the best you can get. There have been several times where I've met someone in public and seen a tattoo and said to myself "That looks like Garrett", sure as shit it always is (I'm an absolute sucker for this man's grey wash). As the owner he has done a wonderful job at funneling clients to his other artists who have their own styles and preferences and been able to build their own amazing reputation. Someday I would love to get a little something from everyone in the black coffin family. I'm incredibly happy to have found Black Coffin.

This was my tattoo. My wife got the same on her arm.

My wife and I were visiting and they got us in right away. They were very communicative and friendly. Our artist was Jake and he was amazing! I highly recommend!

My tattoo artist was John Erickson. The tattoo I got here is about fully healed! I'll start by talking about the service. Everyone there was very kind and welcoming! All of my calls and emails were answered quickly. My artist was always on time and had all of the paperwork ready, and me and my boyfriend never had to ring the doorbell more than once. The decor is amazing; tons of different tattoo designs to look at as well as other sculptures, drawings, curiosities, and body jewelry. It was nice to be able to have so much to look at while getting tattooed. As for the sensory experience, it was quite cold in the studio but I credit that to the large windows. My artist did have a heater though! If you have sensitive eyes and come in during the day, I'd definitely recommend sunglasses. The music is generally alternative, and can be loud, but my artist was able to change the music for me (from heavy metal to some more gothic, introspective music.) I can tell from all the different stations that there's a wide variety of artists in this studio, so you'll definitely be able to find an artist that fits your needs! All of them seem very enthusiastic too; a few different artists stopped by a couple times to check out the progress on my arm piece. John had lots of different designs that I absolutely loved, and I would definitely go back to get them tattooed! He has lots of cute pet portraits, and his style is in between cartoony and realistic, and he's not afraid to incorporate lots of color. Me and my boyfriend were able to connect with him on a personal level too, which helped me feel very comfortable here. I really valued the vulnerability we could have with each other. Overall I had an amazing experience here, and will definitely be coming back!

Septum piercing and two nostril piercings done by Thomas White.

I've had four piercings done by Thomas White and I adore them. He walked me through jewelry details and when it came time to pierce he explained how everything would work and cracked some good jokes to calm my nerves. I 100% trust him and will forever go to him for piercings. After the piercings were done he explained to me how to clean it and the healing process. There was no bs, he was very honest about how each one would heal. He also sent me home with a pamphlet about each piercing and a mist to use to clean them.

A truly trustworthy shop! I've definitely found my go-to tattoo place in the cities. I got my first large, custom piece done here by Jesse Skaggs. In true millennial fashion, I found him via social media after hearing about the shop from a coworker. I was blown away by his work and wanted a piece ASAP. The experience did not disappoint, from start to finish Jesse (and Black Coffin staff) was helpful and welcoming. My tattoo came out beautifully and I definitely got my moneys worth. I cannot recommend this place enough!

What I love about this tattoo shop is the atmosphere of it feeling like a family reunion every single visit. Every artist is kind and super knowledgeable and fun to be around. The open layout is great for people watching and enjoying all of the rad artwork and Knick knacks on the walls and surrounding areas. I've only been worked on by Jesse Skaggs so far but I plan to have other artists work on me as well! Anyone you talk to will help you form your general ideas of "what To get," into unique masterpieces whether small or large. I highly recommend this shop!

Booked with Amy Jean for a small piece on my ankle. Spoke to her through Instagram, which I find super convenient. She was very kind and helpful when it came to choosing design and placement (it was my first tattoo ever). The space is clean and very inviting. Super cool gothic atmosphere and awesome art everywhere. Definitely recommend Amy and Black Coffin in general!

The apprentice is supervised by a senior piercer, in my case the shop owner, and it was a great experience. We went slow and had an easy paced consultation making sure the placement was just right and would also meet the kind of jewelry I wanted. They were happy to change and mark placement multiple times until I was satisfied and the owner was happy. All in, I paid $90 for both piercings including jewelry plus a tip. Fraidy Cats came HIGHLY recommended by a friend who has been going to the owner Jamie for a decade now. I have 15+ piercings so this is not new territory for me. The same friend called the studio in the morning to check in with Jamie. Two of us wanted two new piercings, not one, and she said one appointment slot per person would be ok. We also let her know we had our own jewelry and she said it would have to be processed. She instructed us to book three back to back appointments with the same piercer online so we did just that and reserved an hour and a half time between the three of us (4pm-5:30pm). We arrived on time (3:58pm to be exact) and Jamie told us that she "messed up" the schedule and needed to help someone else first, but the staff came over to take care of us so it was fine. Our group of three proceeded to complete paperwork and a very lengthy after-care presentation. We were just following the staff's instructions so we figured we were still on schedule. Jamie joined us and called us by they/them pronouns by default which seemed thoughtful. She asked where we bought our jewelry from since it needs to be high quality. She went back and forth between the lobby where we were and her office on the other side of the wall to google the names of the studios where we said we bought the jewelry. Not sure if that's the best way to verify jewelry quality but ok. This was when things went south. Jamie said there was now only enough time for one of us to get pierced with jewelry that we brought and that there was no longer time for two of us to get two piercings each and that we would have to come back a different day. So we let my other friend who was visiting from out of state have that slot. I asked Jamie to process my jewelry alongside my friend's jewelry because I had a feeling there would be enough time for me. She reluctantly agreed and guess what? There was enough time -- my piercing was completed at 5:22pm. The piercer who did my tragus was kind, professional and personable. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned. Immediately after putting in the jewelry, she told me that it was slightly off and asked me to check the mirror. I calmly said that I didn't like it and asked that we remove it. She said ok but had to notify Jamie first. Jamie stormed in and was completely on the defense, saying things like, "This is a great piercing" and "It looks great to ME." I stayed quiet nearly the entire time. I struggle with social anxiety and standing up for myself, so the last thing I wanted to do was defend myself and start crying. All I was able to say was, "This isn't the placement I agreed to and I want it removed." Jamie removed the jewelry from my ear and explained to the piercer how it was at the wrong angle, while still not validating my decision to have it removed or apologizing for her piercer's lack of proper training. She also didn't do anything to stop the blood from pooling inside my ear and then raised her voice at me when I tried sitting up to prevent blood from going down my ear canal. The piercer tried helping me and Jamie started barking at her asking if there was blood on her floors (there wasn't). Thankfully Jamie left the room shortly after. When we left, Jamie didn't come out to ask how I was doing or say goodbye to my friend who, again, has been going to her for years and consistently refers people to her studio. I went back shortly after we left to ask for my deposit to be refunded since no one had mentioned it at any point. A staff member went to Jamie's office to ask and said that Jamie would take care of it within a few days. At this point it was clear that Jamie had no intention of seeing us out or following up on my experience. Again, this review has absolutely nothing to do with my botched piercing. These things happen. The problem is the way I was treated by Jamie. She had more respect for my pronouns than my well-being. Also I received my refund AFTER this review was posted on Google.

It's been a rough year with losing his mother to cancer, buying a house in a rough market, and the ups and downs of normal life. We chose Tiger Rose Tattoo for their reviews and their ability to do walk-ins was a huge factor. The gentleman who took our initial information was super sweet and kind, it was a $150 minimum but I figured it would be worth it to have quality work done. After putting our names down we came back 30 min or so later & I can't remember our artist but he was in the back corner. We were told before getting our tattoos that the fingers are a different type of skin so rather than doing a line all the way around, it was only on the top. Sounded reasonable enough so we went with his advice. This was my third tattoo so I opted to go first, he did a pretty decent job shaving my finger, cleaning me off, and getting me situated. Took all of 5 minutes and then it was my husbands turn. He got two lines vs I only got one. He didn't have his finger shaved, he also took about 5 minutes and then we got wrapped up, paid $300 for three simple lines total... which is a bit nuts, but we paid and were off on our way. This was on Dec 31st, it's been 2 weeks now and we're not thrilled with the results. It literally looks like someone took a fine tip sharpie and drew two lines on my husbands finger. On the left side of my ringer finger, there's a chunk missing where black ink should be. It's truly absurd how much we paid and we'll have to find a better artist to help either make the lines thicker or just forget the whole idea and have it removed. This was my husbands first tattoo experience and I'm livid with his results. Do not do walkins here... I wouldn't trust them to do any of my other tattoos.
