The shop was small with cases of one of a kind artisan jewelry. Thick gold rings and bracelets and mostly precious metals. The clerks were not anxious to wait on me. I must have not looked like a serious shopper. Or perhaps they were busy with Valentine shoppers. In any case, their target audience is the impulse buyer internationally entourage. All the shops are duty free so you save on tax. I left empty handed but carried a few sparkly dreams away.

Check out their awesome Tag Heuer range: the most expensive one tops out at around 5000 pounds, so expect to wipe away any potential drool while window shopping. They also have more affordable options that start at around 200 pounds, so it's also a really good place to shop for a gift that's a little more on the expensive side. Everything is tax free, and so you can get to look stylish without paying the well-oiled taxman any more than you have to.

The shop is always clean and tidy and I've always found the staff really helpful and happy to take as much time as you need. Everyone who works there is really knowledgeable about their stock and they're not at all pushy, so you can make up your mind on whether to buy something without any pressure. Your purchases are wrapped up beautifully. Visiting Swag is a treat in itself - even if you don't buy anything.

Personally I wouldn't buy any Chanel products but the brand attracts thousands of loyal customers. With time to kill prior to a flight dropped into the Chanel store and of the stores in T5 I'd say they have the plushest carpet. The displays are as expected of a luxury brand. The staff could be friendlier but then the haughtiness possibly adds to the luxury experience.

The location at terminal 5 London Heathrow has nothing compared to the original....lol... it's your usual pop up that tends to cater to the last minute shoppers needing a gift. This store carries your usual tourist gifts that is fast and simple. Chocolate, teddy bears, of course the tote bag and lots of trinkets. Things that catches holiday maker eyes. Small concert at the airport for all your friends and family last minute gifts from London.

Even just getting a taste of Harrods, I can see why people love this posh department store. I checked out Harrods before catching my flight and was happy to see all the merchandise they had, especially since it's just an airport location, so the inventory is limited. But it was nice to see the designers they offered here, and since I love Tory Burch, they had an entire section just for Tory Burch. The staff were super friendly and even told me what products would be cheaper to get back home versus in London, so it wasn't all about them making money. I ended up getting a Tory Burch card wallet and they escorted me to the other section of Harrods where they offered more of their gift items. This was perfect as I was able to get some gifts for loved ones. Glad I was able to get a glimpse of Harrods, a London specialty.

I wandered in twice in the last several weeks, as this was a British Air transfer point as we were flying from SFO to JNB and back. And this was well before the latest Covid/Omicron events. I'm a huge fan of Smythson's yearly Panama-style diaries and I've picked up other premium leather goods over the years. Hence, it was a treat to enter and look around this small stylish shop. This stuff is relatively expensive and even more so since LHR shops no longer offer a VAT break. There were a few sale items to check out, which are often certain colors of otherwise full priced offerings. I ended up with some personalized note cards, an eye glass sleeve, and spotted items that I hope go on sale in the future. It's often wise to also check their online offerings as the store doesn't always carry them. And for some odd reason, if I can get into the Smythson's UK site and order for USA delivery, it's a little cheaper than ordering from home. And of course, if you're into pretty Smythson pouches and bags with your purchase, this is also your place.

The surprising thing is unlike many diamond jewelers Tiffany don't provide a buy back value for the diamond, so its not easy to tell the true value of the diamond and what is their mark up. People who know a lot more about diamonds then I do tell me the mark up is huge given the quality of the diamonds. Also although signed up to some international diamond standards in terms of human rights, blood diamonds etc, Tiffany are not signed up to all of them.

The store was little more than a drop off point for me to have my ring resized but after all the misinformation I had received elsewhere they were the only store to take ownership of my problems. I received regular updates from them and even follow up messages to check I was happy after receiving my ring. With the care and attentionthey put in to resolving my issues they have secured my future business. T5 may not be the easiest store for me to access but I would now make the effort to give them my money over any other Tiffany store.
