Unfortunately, the staff member I worked with asked me 4 times if I would actually buy the bracelet before even offering to really help me. It came in three different sizes and I wanted to try it on to make sure I could have a sense of what it would feel like on. I asked multiple times to try the bracelet on and was refused. Flat out. Yes other customers in the store were allowed to try on whatever pieces they wanted. The guy that helped me responded I don't seem happy. Yes. I must say, I have mixed feelings about their customer service. The employees could clearly see that you're browsing and waiting for someone to approach you; however, they walk the other direction and wait until you flag them down as if they did not see you. I don't believe that their employees are well trained. During my most recent visit, I came in knowing which necklace I wanted to purchase. The employee tried to push me to purchase a tarnished necklace and claimed that it is sold like that. As I did my research online prior to visiting the store, all the images online appear to be sterling silver. Also, she checked with the cleaning service and asked if the necklace could be cleaned; she came back and said it could only be polish, but not deep cleaned..yet did not have an explanation as to why that was the case. All in all, I did not feel comfortable with the idea of purchasing an expensive piece of jewelry that's tarnished! Luckily, I discovered that the location on Newbury Street had 18 in stock. I made a trip there and the necklace was in perfect condition -- sterling silver and not tarnished. I would recommend taking advantage of their cleaning services. All Tiffany & Co items are eligible for a deep cleaning. Though, note that you will be waiting a long time for a specialist to help you. There is a bell on the wall; however, you could ring it ten times, but no one would help you until you express that you've been waiting for awhile. A manager walked back in forth (to the back) to get something and he noticed that I was still there. He then asked an employee to assist me. I am even happier that there is a location or two that are very accessible to me personally which has me stopping in on line and in store more and more. This particular location provided excellent service on 2 different occasions so far. Visit 1: I had gotten engaged about 48 hours prior to the visit, and my ring had turned green on my finger. I was absolutely heartbroken, but quickly reassured that it was the type of metal, and was fixable. The gentleman quickly polished it back to perfect and sent me on my way with a proper cleaning cloth and explained it's care directions. I was then guided to customer service to drop off a necklace for cleaning. Visit 2: Pick up and and an exchange. Again, excellent service. I was greeted quickly, and guided to customer service for my pick up. The lady was very friendly and I had my necklace back in it's proper place in no time at all. I had an exchange on this visit that I had received as a belated Christmas gift. The woman helping me was friendly, bubbly, and just overall delightful. J. Marra is the name on the receipt. The whole exchange was seamless and with a better outcome than originally configured. I was able to get a small bottle of their new fragrance in addition to the earrings and am totally in love. This location is absolutely beautiful, and one of the largest Tiffany stores in the world. They have an excellent selection of jewelry. They carry many items that other locations do not have in stock. I ran to Copley Square to pick up my sister's graduation gift that I ordered at the location on Newbury. A woman named Helen helped us. She could not have possibly been nicer. She was able to return the necklace to us and cash us out very quickly (we were on a bit of a time crunch). We were looking to buy something extra and she helped us find the perfect pair of earrings. She listened to the specific criteria that I listed for the gift and presented me with three appropriate options. After she cashed us out, Helen made us cappuccinos to drink on our way home. Dropped off my watch for a battery and clean (also it was absurd at how short that battery lasted for a watch I rarely wear) and when I came to get it, there was a woman assisting another customer in the service area, so I sat in the back chairs and patiently watched. The woman left and the associate went into the back... no "are you all set", "I'll be right back"... Nothing. No acknowledgement. Nothing at all. When it seemed like she wasn't coming back, I started a timer. 4 min of sitting there after waiting probably 15 for the woman infront of me. Why it has taken me this long to write a review about my favorite jewelry store is beyond me. My family laughs at me because I have Tiffany bookmarked on my computer. Every time I walk by any of the stores (Boston, NY, Greenwich, Westport) I pause for a moment of silence. People look at me like I have seventeen heads because of how much I love Tiffany. My own sister makes comments about how money should be spent in a better way. I always tell her that buying anything from Tiffany is making an investment on art. That's what it is to me. Art that I can wear for any occasion. My first Tiffany piece was given to me when I was 16 and since then my collection has grown. I have been to three Tiffany stores and while my best experience was the store in Greenwich, CT I still love every store I go into. I think everything from the presentation to the way the sales people are dressed is beautiful. I have never been treated as though I did not belong or like I am not good enough to be among the jewelry (which I have heard people complain about). When it comes to jewelry, I am just a Tiffany girl. One thing I love about the Copley Tiffany is the customer service. I go in there every few months to have some pieces cleaned, and I am always incredibly satisfied with what is returned. Instead of just handing it over to me and asking for my money, they take the piece out of a blue bag (love it) and ask if it looks all right. They flip the piece in every direction so I can get a good look, and once satisfied, they give me back my jewelry in a cute blue bag. They are also very kind and they appreciate my jokes. I never bother reviewing places like this because what's the point? Only doing it now because of a recent outstandingly awful customer service experience. After my BFF's long time BF told her that it was time to pick out an engagement ring, we promptly hauled ass to the only appropriate place to try on shiny expensive things. At 2 pm on a Wednesday, the place was obviously deserted: there was one sales associate helping one customer in the entire store. I dropped BFF off at the engagement ring counter and started looking around for someone to help us. After circling the store, Jessica G. offered her services. We started looking at rings...my friend had no idea what she liked, so she ended up trying a bunch of things; Jessica made suggestions that while logical, weren't exactly helpful. My biggest problem, however, was that she seemed to have a problem with every single word that came out of my mouth. I commented on rings that my friend tried on with honesty and sarcasm as I saw fit, but I guess Jess found it so abrasive that she couldn't wipe the stink eye off her face. Literally, every single opinion I shared, whether humorous ("there's no such thing as a diamond that's too big") or simply genuine ("i think you'd prefer a thinner band") was met with a look of annoyance and dismissal on her part. Ummm....why do you think my friend picked me to come on this trip? Actually, I don't care what you think. You're not being paid to think, you're paid to show me jewelry. I'm glad that my friend was too busy staring down at her hand to notice, because quite frankly, this girl's attitude completely ruined the experience for me as a best friend and left it lacking for the bride to be. This review is for the service I received on Sunday, September 28th. This is not a review about the jewelry. I wasn't planning on going to Tiffany last Sunday, but I was walking through Copley and thought I would stop in because there was a necklace I have been thinking about purchasing for a while. I was greeted kindly by the doorman (he gets the requisite 1 star) and made my way through the store. I found the counter I needed and proceeded to wait there while 2 staff members chatted amongst themselves. After a few minutes, the woman at the opposite counter got the attention of the other two women and told them I was waiting. One of them begrudgingly made her way over to me and asked if I needed anything. I pointed to the necklace I have been thinking about buying (Elsa Peretti Open Heart Lariat with the pearl) and asked if they had it in the silver (only gold was on display). She said she would check, found it and laid it out on the counter. I then asked if they had one with a larger heart and she said no. She then took the necklace and preceded to wrap it up and put it away without saying another word. I stood there in confusion as I was still planning to try it on and, perhaps, purchase it as I liked the necklace. So, I said "Is that it? I was going to try it on." To which she replied "Oh, do you want to?". Not anymore! Really? What kind of customer service is that? I simply asked if the heart came in a larger size and because it didn't, I guess she assumed that I wouldn't want to try it on or purchase it. Sorry that it was *only* a $375 item and not thousands. She didn't want to give me the time of day. To be honest, I am hoping that the poor service I received was because the sales person at the store was bad at her job and not because I am a black female, and so it is assumed that I can't afford to shop there. I have several Tiffany pieces that I have purchased for myself over the years. I guess I will have to go to the 5th Avenue store the next time I am in New York as I have only had positive experiences at that location. I have no desire to go back to Tiffany Copley. read more

I came in here to find a replacement chain for a Tiffany & Co necklace that I own. As much as I love fine jewelry and little blue boxes, the terrible customer service here leaves me with no desire to revisit. The store is bright lit, spacious, and has a decent selection of jewelry. I was in the store for about 5-10 minutes, browsing the necklaces and contemplating whether to also pick up a Christmas present. I waited and waited and looked around for a sales associate for help. No one offered to assist me. This was not a busy day to say the least. There were least 4 or 5 sales associates nearby, but none of them even laid eyes on me. I have to admit that I was not dressed in luxurious clothes. I had my glasses on and some lint on my peacoat but I still looked presentable! I had to ask a sales associate at another counter to come over to help me. She answered my questions but didn't introduce herself, let alone sparing a smile. The only person who acknowledged me in the entire store was the security guard who wished me a good night. This was the first time I felt so uncomfortable as a customer -- I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. No customer deserves to be treated this way! Until I find another Tiffany & Co store where I will can enjoy a pleasant shopping experience, I will be making my purchases online. read more

Customer service has repaired jewelry without complaint (*although they do take approx 3 weeks to get it back to you) and this store has it all: vases, jewelry, flatware, sculpture. Really, Tiffany is about the name and not too much else. I went in there to have a gorgeous 2.5 carat diamond ring resized, and was completely looked down the nose upon, as it was "Not Tiffany". I mean, come on, it's not like I was trying to bring some crap quality diamond in to have it put into a Tiffany setting, I just wanted to go somewhere with a good reputation where I knew my ring wouldn't be damaged or messed with. Also, in general I've found their jewelry lines to be relatively uninspiring. I like the dragonfly necklace i got there, which is simple and elegant, but most of their stuff struck me as either too simple or way too ostentatious (like say, the diamond encrusted lobster brooch?) Really, what it comes down to is many people are just conditioned to see the little blue box and flip out. I have friends who work in the high end jewelry industry who have not been any more blown away by Tiffany diamonds as they have been from diamonds from other sources. Bitching aside, if you go in there looking interesting and looking polished the staff will go completely out of their way to kiss your butt. read more

I came wearing sweats and had a nice frappacino stain on my shirt and the salesman directed me to the service department to have my jewelry cleaned. The wait for the jewelry was a little long although I had the most amusing time listening to this old couple's conversation while I waited: Lady: Well you'd better stop floating away so much money to all your charities if you want to keep me around. 4 star selection with 1 star service. In addition to their large selection of things that sparkle, this location has gorgeous leather goods and pretty strong flatware/glassware choices as well. While the stock is what you would expect from the brand, the service has gone way downhill in the last few years, with my experience today being just horrid enough that I'm permanently put off from this location. Went to exchange a birthday gift, and while the security guard was super lovely, the woman who actually "helped" me was a total B -- zero niceties, blamed me for not having a gift receipt (um, it was shipped, the gift receipt = the shipping slip, which the gift giver didn't want to put in the envelope?), and was unwilling to pull things out of the case for me to eye, saying that "it looks the same as it does inside the case" -- I'm sorry...WHAT?!? I had a bat mitzvah, and as a result, I've spent about a billion hours in Tiffany exchanging that same heart necklace that every other Jewish female got 100 of after we chanted our Torah portions, not to mention that I'm a girl, so I happen to love jewels. In short, I've spent plenty of time in a variety of Tiffany locations. I've never, ever been told that. Ever. W.T.F. I do not look homeless (errr, I didn't today). I was not rolling in with a 10 deep entourage of loud tweenaged girls who just wanted to paw at the silver case. I looked presentable. Why was I treated like a waste of space? Unclear, esp given that I was spending more money than the gift was worth. Ma'am, I'm sorry you're obese and unattractive, but you do get to look at diamonds all day for your living. Get a little more excited. If you're dropping dollars, head out to the location at The Natick Collection (which, 4 years after it opened, I still find hilarrrrious), where at least they will acknowledge that you are a valued customer. read more

The quality and customer service make your ungodly $$$$ purchase so much more palatable. Plus an iconic blue box looks fantastic on my $49 Ikea dresser. I received a beautiful Tiffany bracelet as a Christmas gift last year. About a month ago while trying on a sweater, I wrenched it off and the bracelet went flying across the store. Thank agnostiGod I found it, but the clasp was obviously broken. (It must have gotten bent either before or during my decision that the sweater was the fugliest thing I'd ever seen and was trying to get it as far away from me as possible.) I took the bracelet to the Tiffany location at Copley. Geez Louise, these people should run workshops on customer service. Can you imagine what a world we would live in if utility companies and rental agents had the same skill, grace, tact, and hushed voices no louder than a kitten meowing? I am fairly confident if I asked them to rent me a bouncy castle to set up in the middle of Copley Square, they might have. Oh. And the bracelet fix-up? I found the perfect ring, we got it resized, and that was that for almost 8 years. The more-recent second time was more memorable. Pretty different situation. Mrs. R and I went to Tiffany's right after the super-private ceremony (also in Boston). The couple rings we'd looked at online didn't have the same magic in-person, so we were open to ideas. Karl Schultz helped us. Karl was awesome. Very polite, took the time to understand our tastes, offered suggestions, but gave us space. He helped find a band for me that matches Mrs. R's ring. He had that '07 platinum engagement ring polished, and brought us some complimentary champagne while we waited for a few minutes. I've had only great experiences at Tiffany's. The staff and service at Tiffany's are amazing. At this particular location, I've had two great experiences. First of all, I have a Tiffany's key chain I received as a gift and lost the ball that screws on it. I went to go buy another one when customer service gave me a replacement for free! I also noticed all the services they offered for sizing, repair and cleaning when I was in their back room. It's like when people buy a mac because they are computer retarded, but they know they can always go to an apple store to get help. The second experience was when I friend and I went to buy something for her sister's sweet sixteen. The woman helping us asked all about her sister so she can get to know her and pulled a couple of pieces and they definitely looked like her sister would love them. I was impressed! Getting engaged is pretty expensive, but it's also pretty great. Getting proposed to with a little blue box is super expensive, but it's ridiculously great. Honestly though, we really had a really great experience with this location. My fiancé worked with Joe and Kimen, and he was so impressed with all their help in picking out the perfect ring. Boy can be cheap too- so for him to be impressed made me seriously impressed. About two months after we got engaged, we went back to have the ring sized and I was able to meet both Joe and Kimen and it was like meeting with old friends. They offered us champagne, and I couldn't get over what an amazingly nice experience it was. They reminded me that they're happy to clean the ring any time, and they really took their time trying to figure out what size my chubby fingers are. I went there to look for my fiancé wedding band last Monday. And I bought one from the older lady. She was nice and helped us out. So I bought the wedding band. But when we came home he said he wants to change size to be smaller. He does not want to lose it if it is alittle loose. So we decided to go back to the store yesterday, the lady who has long black hair. I guess she is Spanish. My Fiancé wanted to have size 7.5. but she tried to give him 7 which is totally different style and more expensive. And it is too tight for him. I know this kind of store will have commissions for employees if they sell something. And I know if I just want to change size, she will get nothing from it and waste her time. So when we confirmed to her that we will get 7. She ended up rolled her eyes and said "Great". I chose Tiffany and Co because of the quality of their products and service. It takes a better woman than me to actually make a purchase here. I'll fall in love with something on the website, but when I come into the store, I end up disappointed by how diminutive and plain-looking it really is. I'll feel all flustered by the warming florescent lights and the sales associate who's idling impatiently as I excuse myself for a moment to think. And then I'll remember how relatively expensive this small, boring bauble and awkward sales experience will cost, and I say "No, thank you." I want to spend my three to four figures on something I feel good about. I don't normally consider myself an awkward person, but the combination of deflated expectations and the pressure of fluorescent humidity and intent sales staff bring out my inner Napoleon Dynamite. The whole thing kills me because they had me at "hello;" I was ready to buy just from my internet affair alone, but I need a better sales experience than the above to feel comfortable making such a large purchase. read more
