My mother and I were on are way to Arches National Park and we needed to relieve are selfs and stretch are legs. We had a three hour ride to Arches National Park and this rest stop was pretty awesome. There was tons of information about the state of Utah, the train systems, and mining. The rest stop was scenic and a very great spot for learning information about Utah.

When you gotta go, you gotta go, and sometimes you gotta go at the top of a mountain. Tie Fork is in the middle of the canyon right off Highway Six and not only has toilets-their main attraction, but there is also a pet area and lots of beautiful scenery to take in. When we stopped, the shelves were empty, but it appears that there used to be maps and brochures for visitors to peruse. I hope it was just gone because it is off season and when we return we can enjoy the full glory that is this rest area.

Built to mimic a 1900s train depot.

The nicest rest area I have ever seen. No kidding! They don't make rest stops like this in California! Utah may have some archaic liquor laws, but they sure know how to make a lovely rest stop. The rest area was built to mimic an early 1900s train depot, including roundhouse and steam locomotive. The rest area was voted one of the most beautiful buildings in Utah by the American Institute of Architects. The outside area has interpretive displays and picnic tables within a covered area. The tables are separated by partitions, so you have a little privacy. Inside the roundhouse, in addition to restrooms (including a unisex restroom), there is a visitor area that has tourist brochures. An informational video was playing, and they have a huge map of the area. They even have a comment box. There is a fenced dog run area. My only comment would be that they should provide dog waste bags. Travelers might be more inclined to scoop the poop if they have a bag. If you happen to be driving by, this rest area is worth a stop, even if you don't need to use the facilities.

Whoh. I can't believe such a nice rest stop in Utah! Bravo! Thanks to the State employees to keep this rest area nice and clean. Huge parking lot. Easy and close access to the highway 6. Totally convenient and pleasant stop. There is a designated area for pets. Another perk is the rail road museum with the beautiful locomotive. We were in the rush fighting the traffic so we did not spend extra time to explore the history of this locomotive. It's a must to stop if you gottta go!

I was so disappointed in this rest area. I know they were having some water issues so the inside rest area was closed. Only portable toilets are available. The train was cool to look at but there was construction going on so it was loud in the area. The dog run no one picked up poop so it was all over. No bags provided in dog run.

This is a very nice rest area! I especially like the fenced in pet area. My pups were able to run around and play for a while. The bathroom is clean. There's a good number of parking spaces and it fairly quiet at night. There are also lots of picnic tables!

    Dirty walls, floor, everything

Not sure what is happening to this place but either the visitors this Memorial weekend were extremely tough on this location or management have really let this place go. There are three unisex bathrooms, a women's room and a men's room. I tried one of the unisex bathrooms but walked in and turned immediately around and walked out. The room was very dirty. Urine and torn wet toilet paper on the floor. Filthy looking toilet filled with trash inside. No toilet paper on the rolls. I walked into the men's room but was being used (I was looking for a "sit down"). However, it appeared just as unkept. Toilet paper all over the floor and dirty sinks. I tried a second unisex bathroom, only to find it was as bad, if not worst than the first. No toilet paper, dirty, and smelled. This room has a pair of dirty pants someone had left in the corner. I walked out to meet my wife, she just used the ladies room. Her face said it all. No toilet paper and filthy. She mentioned that typically, the ladies room is cleaner than the men's room. Not here. Baby changing tables were all open and very dirty. Grass outside was long and unprofessionally tended too. In my option, this rest stop is currently unsanitary and a great place to skip. Too bad considering how amazing it could be. We loved the look of it from the highway.

Scenic rest area with great area information. Many signs advising to keep pets off the grass and only in the designated pet area. Problem is, no one cleans up after their dog in the designated pet area.

While out geocaching and driving this was a nice port in the storm for us twice. We needed the break from our drive and it turned out we drove by in both directions in 3 days,

About pilot it's one of the most trusted place to get your gas. Nobody mentions out there that pilot protects our customers from skimmers and thieves. As other gas stations don't. If you go to other gas stations they don't have alarms inside the gas panels or skimmer sticker protection that the panels show secured. The restrooms are always clean over here or most pilots are always super clean. I was just literally across the street at a gas station and the restrooms are filthy. This place is easy to shop I got my coffee they got some awesome to go food and I was on my way. Here's what I learned about pilot. They're all about food safety they have to discard all their food if it's expired within few hours. So now I know I'm eating something safe and my hunger is satisfied lol. I recommend their Pizza or any of their fried tenders or chickens :) Mmm!!
