They had lots of tomato plants, peppers, cabbage, cukes and lettuce all reasonably priced. We passed on the budding flowers -- just too soon in the season, we think. But they had a lot of choices, so we'll be back in mid-May. We also like their indoor store; they have some fresh-grown tomatoes that are tasty and sell some very good locally grown canned and bottled products (try their apple sauce - really yummy). We drop by Moscarillo's several times each year, sometimes finding what we want at the right price,…read moresometimes not so much. This year not so much. A couple of things about this garden shop. First, it's much larger than you might think from the road. There are lots and lots of flowers, veggies and other garden items; no quarreling over the choices to be found here. And for the most part the staff has proven helpful. Mostly. Our main issue is over the prices -- this is not a shop for anyone operating on a budget. And in the spring of 2024, it's pretty expensive here to buy potting plants, perennials, hanging baskets, fertilizer, potting soil, vegetables and the like. You may legitimately argue over whether the likes of Home Depot and Lowes can match the quality here, but they certainly do better when it comes to pricing. Check it out -- you may disagree. But at least you have been cautioned.

This place is a lot bigger than it looks. We found the very hard to find Donkey Tail or Burrito succulents! We bought 2 of those, a String of Teardrop, and a tiny String of Pearls. I also found the most beautiful rain gauge there. They had a really nice selection of all landscaping plants and flowers, even a nice sized selection of houseplants. Everything in this store is well taken care of and healthy. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable. I can highly recommend this place.

I purchased a couch from Southworth's Wayside furniture store, 3261 Winsted Rd, Torrington Ct, on…read moreOctober 11, 2017. It cost $1799.99, $2073.77 with tax ,delivery and fabric protection. For the past 5 years it was used very lightly. Without incident, the frame broke and the cushions are sagging. I went to Southworth's Wayside with the Limited Lifetime warranty in hand. They said that covers only parts and not labor. They sent out a repair man who said it would cost $275 to fix the frame and that the cushions were all "shot". He said that type of cushion only lasts for 2 years. The interior of the couch is constructed out of plywood. I didn't want to dump more money into a poorly constructed couch and asked them to come and take it away for me. ( I literally live 2 miles from them.) They said that would cost me $100. At the price of this couch I expected it to last longer than 5 years! Do not buy furniture from Southworth's Wayside Furniture since they do not standby what they sell.

I knew this place because last year my water would not clear and when I took water to this store Mary was so nice and helpful and she did not charge me for testing water and I purchased only what was needed and sure enough crystal clear water within a day. I sent them a message about the filter at 6:00am and before they even opened Mark let me know he could stop by and check out my filter that morning. He text me back saying it was not a big deal and he fixed it with no worries. He is also going to try and connect with me and show me some tips. I am beyond impressed with such great customer service, helpful, nice and just genuine. I wish all businesses ran like this one. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU WOULD BE FOOLISH NOT TO CALL THEM FIRST :)

As per Dan R.'s review, I do agree that it's also similar to Christmas Tree Shops and Big Lots. It's located in a plaza with Dollar Tree, Subway, and more. The store was pretty organized on my last visit. There was a huge book section, my favorite area in the store! They also had so many toys, Christmas decor, and some snacks. We were greeted at the door and the cashier was friendly. I signed up for the Ollie's Army for discounts and coupons; I got a 15% off coupon for my next visit by doing so.
